‘Tron: Ares' is set to storm Comic-Con and more of what to expect on Day 2
Disney will unveil details about 'Tron: Ares,' which stars Jared Leto, Jeff Bridges and Greta Lee at an evening presentation in Comic-Con's famed Hall H. It will be the third feature film in the 'Tron' franchise that kicked off with the hit 1982 film and had a 2010 sequel, 'Tron: Legacy.'
The original starred Bridges as a computer hacker who gets trapped in a digital world.
The other major presentations planned for Friday include updates on the final season of 'Outlander' and its prequel series 'Outlander: Blood of My Blood,' 'Alien: Earth' and 'Predator: Badlands.'
An estimated 135,000 people from around the globe are expected to attend Comic-Con 2025, which runs through Sunday in downtown San Diego.

The biggest news out of Comic-Con, from 'South Park' to 'Peacemaker'
Love movies? Live for TV? USA TODAY's Watch Party newsletter has all the best recommendations, delivered right to your inbox. Sign up now and be one of the cool kids. No Marvel? No problem. The Avengers and their cinematic universe skipped Comic-Con this year – they're off fighting Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom in the UK or something. But John Cena was there, dressed as his DC superhero Peacemaker. Ryan Gosling was there, giving us a taste of his alien bestie Rocky in "Project Hail Mary." Even "South Park" guys Trey Parker and Matt Stone were there, a day after lampooning the sitting president of the United States. The San Diego pop-culture fest didn't have the same heat as last year or in previous editions. The grand stage of Hall H was full but not crazy-packed, and without any big "event" panels, many movies and TV series were able to show their newest wares to their own fandoms but also to newcomers giving things a try. I'm not an "NCIS" guy by any means, yet it was cool to see how into "Tony & Ziva" their die-hards are. With my 14th Comic-Con officially in the books, here are my favorite things from this year's iteration: 'South Park' creators play it cool with mainstream controversy It didn't take too long during their appearance at Comic-Con for "South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone to weigh in on the kerfuffle of their Season 27 premiere, which drew ire from the White House. (Depicting President Donald Trump nude with Satan will do that.) Their response was true to form: "We're terribly sorry," Parker said, tongue fully in cheek. But that animation panel, which also featured "Beavis and Butthead" honcho Mike Judge and "Digman!" creator Andy Samberg, was a fascinating mutual admiration society. Parker and Stone told Judge how much his show meant to them in college, and the "South Park" guys were very honest about having to now compete with talented kids on TikTok when it comes to topical comedy. "We have a great gig but I'm jealous," Stone said. Superman who? John Cena's 'Peacemaker' takes DC's superhero baton James Gunn got a victory lap of sorts at Comic-Con, getting a standing ovation for how much of a hit the new "Superman" has been. But if you dig that movie, then gird your loins for "Peacemaker." The second season hits Aug. 21, and a new Comic-Con trailer gave us a look at the show's humor, insanity and, yes, even some emotion – all set to a lot of catchy sleaze metal. What makes the show special is John Cena's portrayal of a complex antihero with a traumatic past who can save the day (barely) but can't get out of his own way. It's the one role that has really let Cena's talents shine. When Gunn says Cena's performance in the new season is "really something to see," best believe him. Ryan Gosling's astronaut Everyman fuels 'Project Hail Mary' The best thing about the long wait until Ryan Gosling's sci-fi epic "Project Hail Mary"? You have some time to read Andy Weir's brilliant book before going on this epic space adventure. With so many franchises taking up space at Comic-Con, the "Hail Mary" panel delivered refreshing humor and stunning visuals to a psyched Hall H crowd. Gosling plays a middle-school teacher launched into space – very reluctantly – in a last-ditch effort to find a new home for mankind. Everything they've shown so far is top notch, including the first five minutes where Gosling's character is an amnesiac mess who gradually figures out he's alone in the middle of space. He does find a friend, and a first look at the alien Rocky, just showing his little rock hands, was the most adorable thing outside of the Hello Kitty booth. Get ready, because "Project Hail Mary" is going to be a thing in 2026. 'It: Welcome to Derry' is a best bet to be your Halloween obsession It's a huge year for Stephen King movies and TV shows, and the freakiest of the bunch looks to be "It: Welcome to Derry." A prequel to the hit "It" movies, the series mines more of King's seminal horror novel and its first season is set in 1962. Jovan Adepo and Taylour Paige star as a couple who've moved their family to the cursed Maine town of Derry and soon learn that things ain't right. At all. Bill Skarsgård is back as Pennywise, which is scary enough, but a Comic-Con peek at the opening of "Derry" hints at so much more chilling stuff than just an evil clown who comes back every 27 years. A woman giving birth in a car, rather graphically, to a demon baby with wings and two heads who then goes bat-nuts crazy in said vehicle? October can't come soon enough. Disneyland will likely throw you out if you wear these 5 things to a park: ‘You might be shown the exit'
Ears a list of fashion 'don't's' at Disney. Sure, Mickey Mouse is a kind and gracious host, welcoming hordes of fans to revel in the magic of Disney World and Disneyland. But the mogul mascot and his crew might bippity-boppity boot you out of any of their worldwide theme parks for violating the strict dress codes. Advertisement 4 Sophie, a travel content creator, urged fashionistas against wearing certain articles of clothing to Disneyland Paris. Above, visitors wear Disney-friendly couture. AFP via Getty Images 'Here's five things you can't wear to Disneyland Paris, or you might get kicked out,' Sophie, a travel influencer, forewarned her nearly 300,000 TikTok fans. 'We all know that planning your Disney outfit is an essential part of your trip,' said the stylish sightseer from the UK, adding that if you don't follow the rules, 'you might be shown the exit.' Advertisement Earning the top spot on Sophie's steer-clear gear roster are costumes. 'At Disneyland Paris, costumes are only allowed for guests 12 and under,' she explained. 'Disney is not a cosplay convention. 'They want children to believe in real Disney-trained characters,' added the know-it-all, 'not Susan, who's wearing a full Elsa costume, chain smoking outside Hyperspace Mountain.' Sorry, Susan — but Sophie is right. Advertisement 4 Cosplay is prohibited for adults at a number of Disney locations. AFP via Getty Images The Disneyland Paris park explicitly states that it reserves 'the right, at our own discretion and at any given time, to refuse a visitor the right to wear any type of costume,' in part, per its site. It's an outerwear veto that's universal at most of Mr. Mouse's venues. Phoebe Parsons, a self-crowned 'Disney Adult' — overgrown brand buffs — threw a mini fit after learning she couldn't wear a cartoon-inspired 'fit to a recent Disney on Ice show. Advertisement 'Honestly, it just felt like a bit of the magic got gatekept,' she recently whined online. 'Do I think adults should be able to dress up with their kids? Within reason, yes. If a mom or a big sister wants to wear a matching Elsa cape, why not? It's harmless fun,' the millennial argued. 'The world's heavy enough, let people do things that fill them with joy. Even if it's wearing a tiara at 35.' 4 Grown-up Disney fanatics have groaned over the brand's rules barring them from wearing costumes. AFP via Getty Images A body of defiant aficionados, known as 'Disney bounders,' has even begun testing the boundaries of the play land's laws. Rather than don a traditional costume, the rule-benders copy the color schemes, jewelry preferences and hairstyles of their favorite animated characters, such as Snow White and Princess Tiana, as a sneaky way to circumvent expulsion. But 'bounders' beware — wearing certain paraphernalia could also land you on Disney's 'no-go' list. 'No. 2,' said Sophie, continuing her round-up of banned attire, 'any clothing that drags on the ground.' 'Anything with excessive fabric, like capes or long trains,' she said, 'security might ask you to pin it up or even deny you entry. Advertisement 'It's a safety risk on rides, and totally impractical in a packed park.' 4 Outfits featuring capes, long trains and excessive fabrics are also banned at Disneyland. Hans Lucas/AFP via Getty Images Sophie then underscored Disney's unyielding disdain for indecency. 'You have to wear proper clothing at all times — so no, you can't walk around in a bikini top even when it's hot,' she advised. Advertisement 'And shoes are required at all times so please keep your dogs under wraps.' She went on to caution madcaps that terrifying togs are totally forbidden on Disneyland Paris' hallowed grounds. The no-no is outlined on the fun zone's site, which reads that clothing cannot 'offend, shock or scare children and a family-orientated public.' Advertisement Lastly, but certainly not least, is the Mouse's ban on taboo tattoos. 'If you've got something really graphic or offensive or just awful, you're gonna need to cover that up,' said Sophie. 'These rules can all be found in Disneyland Paris' official rule book,' she noted, 'so, I'd try not to break them.'

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2: Release date, cast updates and what to expect next
By Aman Shukla Published on July 28, 2025, 18:00 IST Last updated July 28, 2025, 18:09 IST Hell's Kitchen is about to get even hotter. Daredevil: Born Again is officially coming back for Season 2, and after that cliffhanger-packed Season 1 finale, fans are dying to see what's next. With more action, deeper drama, and a few surprise faces along the way, Marvel's street-level saga is ramping up to deliver another knockout season. Here's everything we know so far—from when it's dropping to who's back (and who's new), plus a look at what might be coming in Matt Murdock's next gritty chapter. When Is Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Coming Out? Mark your calendars— Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is slated to premiere on Disney+ in March 2026. That's a quick turnaround from Season 1's March 2025 debut, keeping fans hooked without the usual long wait. Production wrapped in July 2025 after kicking off in February, promising a tight eight-episode run packed with intense drama. Unlike Season 1's nine episodes, this season trims one episode but doubles down on stakes, with whispers of a darker, more thrilling story. Who's Back in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Cast? Season 2 is bringing back most of the fan-favorite cast, plus some fresh blood to shake things up in Hell's Kitchen. Returning Faces: Charlie Cox is back as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, now rocking a sleek black suit straight out of the 'Shadowland' comics. He's hinted this season contains some of his favorite Daredevil scripts yet. Vincent D'Onofrio returns as Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin—now the mayor of New York and more dangerous than ever. Deborah Ann Woll reprises her role as Karen Page. This time, she's got a bold red wig and an expanded arc that fans are buzzing about. Elden Henson is also back as Foggy Nelson. Yes, even after what happened in Season 1—he's expected to appear through emotional flashbacks. Wilson Bethel's Bullseye is back, now fully suited up with the iconic target logo. He's unstable, deadly, and definitely not done causing chaos. Ayelet Zurer returns as Vanessa Fisk, putting any recasting rumors to rest. Her dynamic with Kingpin looks like it'll get even more complex. You'll also see Margarita Levieva, Nikki M. James, Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, Clark Johnson , and Michael Gandolfini back in their roles, continuing the grounded, street-level stories. Jon Bernthal's Punisher shows up too, though in a smaller role, possibly as a lead-in to a spin-off special. And the big surprise? Krysten Ritter is back as Jessica Jones , officially folding her Netflix antihero into the Disney+ Marvel universe. Royce Johnson and Susan Varon , familiar faces from the Netflix era, are also back—helping keep that gritty tone fans loved. Camila Rodriguez is appearing as Angela del Toro, niece of the original White Tiger. Expect some vigilante legacy threads. Newcomers: Matthew Lillard joins the show in a morally complex role that's still under wraps. Based on his past work, expect something unpredictable. Lili Taylor plays the Governor of New York and a major political threat to Fisk—yes, things are getting political. Sydney Parra, Annie Parisse, and James Armstrong have all been spotted on set, though their roles are still a mystery. What Can Fans Expect from Season 2? Season 2 picks up right after Fisk's power play at the end of Season 1, with New York under martial law thanks to his Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Matt Murdock is fully embracing his Daredevil identity again—and this time, he's not holding back. Here's what's brewing: Daredevil vs Kingpin 2.0: This rivalry is now political, personal, and brutal. With Fisk in the mayor's seat, Matt is fighting not just crime, but the entire system. Bullseye Unleashed: Bethel's return means more chaos, and his upgraded comic-accurate suit suggests he's not just back—he's ready to wreak havoc. Jessica Jones x Daredevil: The crossover we didn't know we needed. Their personalities clash, but both have a deep respect for justice—expect tension, team-ups, and maybe a few philosophical fights. The 'Shadowland' Vibes: Matt's black suit and some cryptic comments from D'Onofrio have fans thinking we might see elements of the Shadowland storyline, where Daredevil wrestles with darker leadership—possibly even taking over The Hand. Political Intrigue Meets Street Brawls: With Lili Taylor's governor going toe-to-toe with Fisk and Lillard's mystery character stirring the pot, the show's scale is expanding without losing its street-level heart. Flashbacks and Heartbreak: Foggy's return—even if only in memories—promises to pack an emotional punch. Karen's arc will dig deeper into her resilience and relationship with Matt. And yes—this season isn't just setting up the next fight. Marvel TV boss Brad Winderbaum has teased long-term plans, even throwing around words like 'Season 3' and 'Season infinity.' So Daredevil's just getting started. Ahmedabad Plane Crash Aman Shukla is a post-graduate in mass communication .
