Alonso Reveals Newey's Impact On Aston Martin's F1 Revival Plans: 'We All Learn'

Fernando Alonso feels Aston Martin is learning from Adrian Newey, who joined as Managing Technical Partner, transforming the team's processes and vision for the 2026 regulations.
Fernando Alonso believes Aston Martin is experiencing a learning curve under the guidance of legendary designer Adrian Newey, who joined the Silverstone-based team earlier this year as Managing Technical Partner.
As Aston Martin aims to recover from a disappointing start to the 2025 Formula 1 season, Alonso has disclosed how Newey's presence is already beginning to transform the team's internal processes and long-term vision.
Newey, who departed Red Bull Racing after decades of championship triumphs, began working with Aston Martin in March. Regarded as one of the greatest technical minds in F1 history, his arrival is considered a major coup for the team, which aims to become a consistent front-runner under the upcoming 2026 regulations.
During the British Grand Prix weekend, Alonso shared his initial interactions with Newey and the insights he brings to the team.
'We had a couple of lunches together," Alonso was quoted by Formula 1.com as saying. 'Generally [focused on] things about the team, about the simulator, how to make things a little bit more realistic, and he has a lot of experience [of] how a top team should fight for championships and try to be on top of the game in every area."
The two-time World Champion stressed that Newey's contributions extend far beyond the aerodynamics department. 'It's not only the aerodynamics. When we think about Adrian, it is all aero performance; I think Adrian has a much wider view of how the team should operate, so we all learn from him every time that we speak with him."
How Will Adrian Newey Help Aston Martin?
While Newey's main focus is reportedly on preparing the team for the sweeping technical changes in 2026, Alonso remains cautious about his own future in the sport beyond that point. When asked about the possibility of racing in 2027, the 43-year-old veteran was straightforward. 'No, not really. Not in my mind now."
'The decision will be made next year, I think, around summer time or before to have things clear as soon as possible. Right now, the championship is challenging this year. We didn't start as competitive as we thought, and now we want to turn the situation [around]."
Alonso added, 'We want to finish the second part of 2025 as strong as possible. Then 2026, everything remains to be seen. Step by step, and [it's] impossible to think right now into 2027."
Aston Martin currently sits eighth in the Constructors' Championship, level on 36 points with Racing Bulls, who hold seventh place on countback.

The Man Who Vanished In 2011 Is Now World's 12th Richest, Holds Rs 11 Lakh Crore In Bitcoin

Last Updated: Nakamoto was active online until 2011, then vanished. A NY Post report claims he is a 37-year-old Japanese man, but his activity timings suggest he may be based in the UK The mystery surrounding the identity of Bitcoin's creator has once again stirred global curiosity. Satoshi Nakamoto, the elusive figure credited with inventing the world's first cryptocurrency, remains shrouded in secrecy, with no definitive proof of whether the name represents a real individual or a group. Yet, despite the anonymity, Nakamoto has now been ranked the 12th richest entity in the world, with assets exceeding $128 billion, thanks to Bitcoin's meteoric rise. Satoshi Nakamoto is credited with publishing Bitcoin's white paper in 2008 and mining the first Bitcoin block in 2009. Now, nearly a decade and a half since Bitcoin's launch, Satoshi Nakamoto has become the 12th richest person in the world, with an estimated net worth of $128.92 billion (over Rs 11 lakh crore). According to crypto exchange Bitstamp, Nakamoto is believed to own around 10.96 lakh bitcoins, surpassing even Michael Dell's net worth of $124.8 billion. Various names have been linked to Nakamoto, including software developer Hal Finney, computer scientist Nick Szabo, entrepreneur Elon Musk, and former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, all of whom have denied being Bitcoin's creator. Craig Wright, an Australian computer scientist, is the only person to have repeatedly claimed to be Nakamoto. However, a UK court sentenced him to 12 months in prison in 2024, calling him a liar and accusing him of 'legal terrorism" for his persistent falsehoods. His sentence is currently suspended, but he faces imprisonment if he repeats such claims. Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery ' explored the enigma. At one point, filmmaker Cullen Hoback suggested that a man named Peter K. Todd might be the creator, but Todd denied any involvement. Nakamoto was active online until 2011, after which he disappeared from public view. A New York Post report suggests Nakamoto might be a 37-year-old Japanese man, although the timing of his online activities aligns with UK daylight hours. Analysis of Bitcoin's code indicates he was proficient in the C++ programming language. Author Benjamin Wallace, in his book ' The Mysterious Mr Nakamoto: A Fifteen-Year Quest to Unmask the Secret Genius Behind Crypto ' published in March 2025, describes Nakamoto as 'an elusive figure who may or may not exist." Regardless of Nakamoto's true identity, their name now shines in the list of the world's wealthiest individuals, adding an intriguing layer to the fascinating story of Bitcoin. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Victor Osimhen Nearing A Permanent Move To Galatasaray? Noted Absent From Napoli Training

Last Updated: Osimhen missed Napoli's pre-season training amid advanced talks for a move to Galatasaray. Despite his success in Turkey, new coach Antonio Conte doesn't see him in Napoli's plans. Victor Osimhen was notably absent as Napoli resumed pre-season training on Monday, with the Nigerian striker reportedly in advanced negotiations for a permanent move to Turkish champions Galatasaray. In an official statement, Napoli confirmed the squad's return to training: 'The players met at the training centre for medical examinations and physical tests. Victor Osimhen was absent and provided a medical certificate." Galatasaray Move on the Horizon Osimhen, a crucial figure in Napoli's 2023 Serie A title win, spent the previous season on loan at Galatasaray, where he excelled with 26 goals in 30 league appearances, helping the Istanbul giants clinch their 25th Super Lig title. Despite his prolific form in Turkey, it appears new Napoli head coach Antonio Conte does not see the 26-year-old forward in his plans for the upcoming Scudetto defence. However, Napoli have made it clear they won't let Osimhen leave for anything less than €75 million ($87.5 million). Negotiations between the two clubs have been ongoing for several weeks, but the deal remains stalled, with disagreements over payment structures continuing to delay an agreement. New Faces, Familiar Absences Meanwhile, Napoli's new signing, Kevin De Bruyne, recently acquired from Manchester City, was also absent from Monday's session. The 34-year-old Belgian midfielder was not among the players reporting for initial medicals and testing. As Napoli prepare for a new season under Conte, the futures of key players like Osimhen—and how swiftly the club can integrate new signings—will be pivotal to their hopes of reclaiming the Serie A title.
