Tzaneen's Manani Botes makes Mrs South Africa top 30

LIMPOPO – Manani Botes from Tzaneen has been named one of the top 30 finalists in the Mrs South Africa competition. The announcement was made last week at Hotel Sky in Sandton, Johannesburg. A popular Jacaranda FM radio presenter, Botes describes the achievement as 'amazing' and dedicates it to women who have given up on their dreams and those working to create change in their communities. Last year, Botes progressed to the top 100 in the competition. The journey to the top 30 began during the semi-finals week from July 2-4. Over three intense days, semi-finalists participated in leadership roundtables, mentorship sessions, interviews, and a live showcase at the Theatre of Marcellus. The following days, July 5-6, included workshops on media relations, business, and social responsibility, along with a professional photo and video shoot to build their personal brands. 'This programme has been a life-changing journey of growth, self-discovery, and sisterhood,' said Botes. 'It pushed me beyond my comfort zone and reminded me of the strength I carry as a woman, a mother, and a leader. I've learned to embrace my story, use my voice with purpose, and stand confidently in who I am.' Looking ahead, Botes will host the 'Paws with Purpose' charity event to raise funds for the South African Animal Cancer Association (SAACA), one of Mrs South Africa's official charities. 'Animals don't have a voice, but we do. Supporting this cause means standing up for the vulnerable and creating a kinder world, one paw at a time,' she said. 'As a mother and community leader, I believe teaching compassion starts with how we treat all living beings.' Originally from Giyani, Botes grew up in Modjadjiskloof and attended Modubatse Secondary School. She is married to Charlton Botes and has a son, Nathan. Her career shifted from luxury car sales to radio after winning a presenter search at Jacaranda FM. Since then, she has become a prominent voice, inspiring many with her story. The Tzaneen beauty will compete at Emperor's Palace in November, with preliminaries on November 13 and the crowning ceremony on November 14. Amor Vittone slams filter critics: 'People want to do what you do'

Amor Vittone – the widow of the late Joost van der Westhuzien – has clapped back against critics who called her out for using filters on images she posts on social media. The 53-year–old entertainer recently announced that she was working on new music. Speaking on Jacaranda FM last week, Amor Vittone responded to criticism surrounding her images posted on social media. She said: 'Secretly, people want to do what you do…but seemingly judging others. 'Listen, I'm going to use a filter. It's not about me wanting to look young again. But it's me wanting to give the best version of myself. She added, 'It's not about looking different; it's about enhancing what you have. You put on makeup, you do your hair. Confidence is key. And if I'm confident, and I feel pretty, that shines through!' Amor Vittone's youthful face has sparked social media commentary. Images via Facebook: @officialamorvittone While Amor Vittone has dated a plastic surgeon in the past, she has been adamant that she hasn't had any. Late last year, the mother of two shut down speculation about her appearance. In the comments section of one of her posts, she posted: 'Kan julle net relax! Nie Botox of fillers nie. [Can you relax! No botox or filler]. Instead, she credited her picture-perfect snaps to 'good make-up and lighting with slight filter.' Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1 .
