Next ‘Guild Wars 2' Expansion ‘Visions Of Eternity' Launches This Year

Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity
Today, ArenaNet revealed that the next major expansion coming for its flagship MMORPG, Guild Wars 2, is called Visions of Eternity and it's set to launch later this year on October 28, 2025 starting at $24.99 for the base version. There are a bunch more details in the announcement blog here.
This big update is packed full of content. Reportedly, Visions of Eternity includes an all-new storyline set in an island realm called Castora, a new Homestead plot, upgrades and new abilities for the Skimmer mount, two brand-new explorable maps, six new legendary items including three weapons, a new elite specialization for all nine playable professions, and a year's worth of post-launch content support and updates.

The post-launch support for Visions of Eternity is planned for throughout 2026, which is really encouraging to see. Specifically, the plan is to break them up into three planned major future updates at no additional charge once you've already purchased Visions of Eternity. These updates are planned to include two more additional maps, new Raid Encounters, a new Convergence, new earnable rewards, storyline extensions, new gear, and much more.
But as soon as the expansion launches this October, the first two new maps will become available on the island of Castora, adding tons of new areas to explore and activities to do.
Personally, I haven't played Guild Wars 2 in several years but that's mostly due to the fact that I don't spend a lot of time playing PC games at my desk anymore. I've heard Guild Wars 2 runs well on Steam Deck and there are several recommended controller layouts to pick from, so I want to give it a whirl eventually.
Other MMOs that have captured my attention in recent years include The Elder Scrolls Online and Throne and Liberty, but it's fantastic to see a long-running game like Guild Wars 2 continuing to push out meaningful and large new content updates.

When I was playing actively, it really consumed my life for a couple of years and I have nothing but positive memories and experiences from my time in Tyria. As an aside, I appreciate that their marketing emails I still receive address me by my character's name, instead of my real name.
'Visions of Eternity continues our commitment to major yearly content expansions,' said Josh Davis, Guild Wars 2 Game Director, in a press release. 'Over a decade into the game's life, we're making improvements and enhancements to game modes and systems, expanding the horizon of Guild Wars 2's gameplay. This expansion is offering up more elite specializations to further grow the possibilities for player customization and gameplay while becoming more seamlessly accessible across game modes and activities.'
The base game for Guild Wars 2 is available for free to play up to max level with eight different character professions and tons of both PvE and PvP content, with no subscription fee.

Could Energy Transfer Be Your Best Investment in the Second Half of 2025?

Key Points Energy Transfer expects to complete several expansion projects in the second half of this year. The MLP could approve more growth projects by year-end. It could also make another needle-moving acquisition. 10 stocks we like better than Energy Transfer › Energy Transfer (NYSE: ET) had a relatively quiet first half of the year. The master limited partnership (MLP) didn't make an acquisition or approve a major growth project. That's likely why its unit price has slumped nearly 10% this year. While the MLP had a lackluster first half, its prospects appear brighter for the second half. Second-half catalysts abound for Energy Transfer This year will be a more transitional period for Energy Transfer. The midstream giant delivered 13% growth in its adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) last year, fueled by the acquisition of Crestwood Equity Partners in late 2023 and WTG Midstream last year. The company expects its earnings growth rate to slow to about 5% this year due to fewer growth catalysts. However, the MLP's growth engine should start ramping back up in the second half of this year and into 2026. It's investing $5 billion in growth capital projects this year. Those projects will begin entering service in the second half of this year (including its Nederland Flexport NGL Expansion and Badger gas processing plant) and continue through the end of next year. As a result, its growth rate should accelerate, potentially giving its stock a boost. Energy Transfer could approve more expansion projects in the second half of the year, including the Lake Charles LNG terminal and new projects supplying gas to artificial intelligence (AI) data centers. These approvals could provide further upside for the company's price. Energy Transfer is also currently in its strongest financial position ever. This financial flexibility could allow it to make a major acquisition that would accelerate growth and help reignite its unit price. On top of these potential upside catalysts, Energy Transfer currently offers investors an attractive income stream (more than 7% distribution yield). That payout will provide investors with a nice base return in the second half. Add it all up, and the catalysts are there for Energy Transfer to be an excellent investment in the second half of 2025.
