Rudy Gobert dunked over Isaiah Hartenstein during playoff game
In Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals, the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Oklahoma City Thunder gave each other a tough fight. During the game, Rudy Gobert dunked over the Thunder's Isaiah Hartenstein. The brief moment became the highlight of the game and drew various comments and reactions from analysts like Doris Burke and several fans.
The game went in the Thunder's favor, who advanced to the NBA finals with a 128-126 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Unlike in Game 3, Robert could not contribute much to the team's performance and had an underwhelming show in Game 4. He recorded only two defensive rebounds. IND vs ENG Test: Joe Root eclipses Rahul Dravid and Jacques Kallis for most runs in Test cricket

England batter Joe Root during the series against India. (AP) England batter Joe Root went past legendary cricketers Jacques Kallis and Rahul Dravid in the list of highest run-scorers in Test cricket history history. Root came into the fourth Test against India with 13,259 runs and went past Dravid's tally of 13,288 runs and then Kallis' 13,289 runs. The former England captain now sits just behind the legendary Sachin Tendulkar (15,921 runs) and Ricky Ponting (13,378 runs). In the process, the England batter jumped from the fifth-highest run-scorer in Test cricket to third. During his stay, Root also became the first to complete 1000 Test runs at Old Trafford. He is the third England batter to collect 1000-plus runs at two different venues. The veteran, who has 2166 runs at Lord's, joins Alastair Cook and Graham Gooch in that milestone. Former Australian cricket captain and ICC Hall of Famer Ponting had spoken about Root's impending milestone ahead of start of play on Day 3. Ponting is the next on the list with 13,379 runs. Joe Root press conference: On India's ball complaints, his stunning catch, Rishabh Pant and more "If he keeps going on like this, that could very well happen today. It's a great day for batting and what a remarkable career it's been for Joe. How he's transformed from someone that couldn't go on past fifty to hundreds. Now it seems like every time he gets to fifty, you just mark him down for a hundred, or a big hundred," Ponting told Sky Sports . by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like You Won't Believe the Price of These Dubai Apartments Binghatti Developers FZE Get Offer Undo "Just looking at some of the numbers, 37 Test match hundreds, 13000 runs, what an amazing career to-date," Ponting added, highlighting Root's impressive statistics in Test cricket. "There's still a fair bit to go. What is he, 35? Doesn't look like his passion for the game is going anywhere. His run-scoring passion has probably gone up over the years. Can he chase down Sachin? Let's see. He might as well do that," Ponting remarked, referring to Sachin Tendulkar's all-time Test run-scoring record. IND vs ENG 4th Test: 'Sent from the heavens just to play' - Ravi Shastri recalls the last time an Indian scored a century at Old Trafford

Sachin Tendulkar raises his bat after finishing 119* at the end of day 5 of the 2nd Test match between England and India at Old Trafford in 1990 (Photo by Ben Radford/Allsport/) As India continue their fight in a must-win match at Old Trafford in the ongoing five-match Test series against England, memories of one of the most iconic innings in cricket history resurfaced. The historic moment came in 1990 when a 17-year-old Sachin Tendulkar scored his first-ever international century at the venue. This innings, scored under pressure, marked the beginning of a legendary career, and it continues to be celebrated by those who witnessed it. Ravi Shastri, speaking on Sky Sports Cricket, recalled Tendulkar's first Test century at Old Trafford, and the impact it had on everyone watching. Shastri was asked if he realised he was witnessing greatness when watching Tendulkar bat from the balcony. "I certainly did, because I'd seen him from my days with Mumbai cricket, you know," Shastri said. "I remember doing an interview for Wisden in the summer of '89, playing for Glamorgan, and there's a quote there where I've said: he's been sent from upstairs to just play cricket, entertain, and go upstairs whenever he wants after that. The reason I said it—because what we saw of him at 16 was unreal—and you saw glimpses of that in that innings. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like AirSense 11 – Smart tech for deep sleep ResMed Buy Now Undo " Shastri, who had first-hand experience with Tendulkar's skills, spoke about the balance, power, and purity of his technique that stood out even at such a young age. 'The balance, the power he had even at that age, and the simplicity and purity of his technique, which never changed right through his career," he said. "He tinkered very little with his technique... and the signature shot—the straight drive—never changed. He never had a problem against the short ball. A very pure player." Shardul Thakur opens up on being under bowled, gives inside details on Rishabh Pant The former India head coach's admiration for Tendulkar's game was echoed by England legend Michael Atherton, who also praised the Indian legend's unmatched consistency and versatility. "Most batters, obviously, are captained for a while in England, and you're looking at opposition players thinking: where's our little chink in the armour here? Where is he vulnerable? And with Sachin, it was very difficult," Atherton remarked. Atherton pointed out how Tendulkar had no weaknesses in his game, even when facing some of the toughest bowlers in world cricket. "He played Shane Warne absolutely brilliantly, he got hundreds in Perth—so pace, spin—no weaknesses," he said, highlighting Tendulkar's ability to excel against all forms of bowling. Poll Who do you think is the greatest Indian cricketer of all time? Sachin Tendulkar Kapil Dev Sourav Ganguly The 1990 Test at Old Trafford was a special one for Tendulkar, as he displayed remarkable maturity and talent. Set a daunting target of 408 with a little more than a day's play left, India were four down for 109 when Tendulkar walked out to bat. The teenager, however, composed a brilliant knock of 119* off 189 balls, helping India reach 343/6 and salvaging a draw. As India faces England in the current Test series, with a win crucial to stay alive in the contest, the team could certainly draw inspiration from Tendulkar's unforgettable century at Old Trafford in 1990. This comes nearly 29 years after cult devotees applauded his unlikely golf swing in the hit 1996 film. In May 2024, Netflix revealed that Happy Gilmore 2 was in development, with Sandler returning to the title role. The actor even joked, 'Shooter McGavin, this one's for you," before delivering his character's trademark hefty swing in a video that the PGA Tour uploaded to X (formerly Twitter). Release and Streaming The latest instalment is accessible to Netflix subscribers worldwide and started streaming on July 25, bypassing theatres entirely. Netflix previously released the sequel's trailer, which showed Sandler making a comeback to the sport after a 30-year hiatus. Plot and Premise About 30 years after the events of the first movie, Happy has retired from professional golf until he is compelled to return due to a personal crisis. He is now playing the game again to finance his daughter's French dance lessons. The follow-up explores how he balances his family responsibilities and adapts to a new generation of professional golfers. Happy, who had been a failed ice hockey player, found his innate gift for golf in the cult favourite. A March 2025 teaser trailer of the movie's first story points revealed that Sandler's title character hasn't 'swung a club in years." After being 'intimidated" by professional golfers, Happy returns to the game by preparing for a tournament. Cast and Cameos Sandler and Modern Family star Julie Bowen will be back on film together in Happy Gilmore 2 after almost 30 years. Ben Stiller is one of the other cast members, along with a few newcomers like Kansas City Chiefs star, Travis Kelce, Bad Bunny, Paige Spiranac, and Post Malone. The seasoned star will be joined on film by other well-known figures from the golf world. Jordan Spieth, Will Zalatoris, Lee Trevino, Bryson DeChambeau, Justin Thomas, John Daly, and Jack Nicklaus, among others. In a December 2024 visit on The Dan Patrick Show, Sandler also said that rapper Eminem would make a 'funny as hell" appearance in the movie. 'Eminem was cool. He came by, he was great," the actor said at the time without revealing the rapper's participation in the movie, per US Magazine. Netflix is now offering Happy Gilmore 2 for streaming, allowing both new and returning fans to re-enjoy the drama.
