Banu Mushtaq has brought pride to Kannada by winning the Booker Prize. This is a moment of collective pride for the entire Kannada-speaking world,' he said. .'As a bold and progressive voice for Muslim women, Banu Mushtaq has stood against orthodoxy and fulfilled the responsibility of delivering a humanistic message through her literature,' the chief minister said. .People's understanding of Kannada is incorrect, there's no language as tolerant as ours: Banu Mushtaq. He announced a Rs 10-lakh award each for Mushtaq and Bhasthi, along with government support for translating Banu Mushtaq's other works into English..A visibly moved Mushtaq said, 'Karnataka helped me grow roots, form ideas and inspired my creativity. 'Squid Game' creator says VIPs in show resemble Elon Musk: ‘Everybody talks about him'
The modern drama Squid Game continues to mirror real-world dynamics as it wraps up its run with an engaging third season. Hwang Dong-hyuk , the creator of the series, recently called attention to the way that the show's wealthy VIP characters mirror contemporary power structures, using one notable individual in particular. 'Elon Musk is everywhere these days, right?" In a recent interview with Time, Hwang said, "Everybody talks about him." He is a showman in addition to being the leader of a massive tech company that virtually controls the world. Naturally, I thought, "Oh, some of the VIPs do kind of resemble Elon Musk " after finishing Season 3 . He continued. The VIPs in Squid Game are wealthy English-speaking spectators who like to watch violent life-or-death games take place while hiding behind elaborate masks. Although their presence has always been concerning, they assume an even more sinister role in the show's last chapter. Hwang clarified, 'They take their masks off and go into the game and kill others with their own hands.' He pointed out that their change from passive observers to active participants reflects a change in the way power is exercised in the real world. 'In the past, those that really controlled the system and maintained power, they were hidden behind the curtain, almost like this big unseen conspiracy. However, it's no longer the case, especially in America,' he stated. "We talk a lot about oligarchy these days, but these so-called big tech owners, they step up, telling everyone who they're backing with their money," he added. Hwang claims that influential people today don't hide their influence. 'The people who really control the power and the system, they no longer hide behind a curtain. They willingly take their masks off, almost as if to declare, 'We're the ones running everything. We're the ones in control',' he continued. The Squid Game universe might be growing in the meantime. Deadline has learned from a number of sources that Netflix is working with renowned director David Fincher on a new English-language spinoff. Speculation has been going on for months, but official confirmation is still pending. According to insiders, unless he takes on a feature film in the interim, this project might be David's main priority in 2025.

Squid Game VIPs inspired by Elon Musk, says creator | Credit: X As Squid Game concludes with its third season, the creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has offered fresh commentary on the show's symbolic characters. In a recent interview with Time , he drew a connection between the masked VIPs and real-life tech figures—especially Elon Musk.'Elon Musk is everywhere these days, right? Everybody talks about him,' Hwang said. 'Not only is he the head of a huge tech company that controls the world almost, but he's also this showman.' After completing the latest season, Hwang noted that some of the VIP characters ended up resembling Musk. 'Of course I thought, 'Oh, some of the VIPs do kind of resemble Elon Musk',' he added. From hidden influence to open control In Squid Game , the VIPs have been portrayed as rich, English-speaking individuals who observe brutal games for their entertainment while wearing masks. But in the final season, their role intensifies—they now enter the game and kill with their own hands.'They take their masks off and go into the game and kill others with their own hands,' Hwang explained. This development, he said, reflects a growing trend in the real world. 'Those that really controlled the system and maintained power, they were hidden behind the curtain... However, it's no longer the case, especially in America,' he stated. Elon Musk | Credit: X Wealth and influence now worn publicly Hwang spoke about how today's powerful individuals no longer operate behind closed doors. 'We talk a lot about oligarchy these days,' he said, 'but these so-called big tech owners... step up, telling everyone who they're backing with their money.' He added, 'The people who really control the power and the system, they no longer hide behind a curtain. They willingly take their masks off, almost as if to declare, 'We're the ones running everything. We're the ones in control'.' English-language spinoff reportedly in development Meanwhile, the Squid Game franchise could be expanding. According to Deadline , Netflix is working on a new English-language spinoff. Acclaimed director David Fincher is reportedly attached to the project. Though nothing has been officially confirmed, industry insiders suggest that the spinoff could become Fincher's major focus in 2025, unless a feature film takes priority. Hwang's reflections reveal how Squid Game mirrors today's world, where power is no longer hidden, but shown openly and deliberately.
