According to Nelly, when they learned the news, they hadn't talked about marriage. However, after seeing how their relationship was going, he knew it was something he wanted to do.

"I was like, 'Yo, you know what? Let's just knock this out because we're going to be doing so much and everything's moving so fast.' I didn't want her to be a baby mama, you know what I mean?" said Nelly. "Because we already knew where we were in life. If we're back like this, this must be what it's supposed to be."
According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, he and Ashanti tied the knot on Dec. 27, 2023. However, the news wasn't confirmed until months later, in June 2024. The couple tied the knot three months after they confirmed they were dating again in September 2023.
Before confirming their marriage, Ashanti revealed that she and Nelly were expecting their first child together during an April 2024 interview with Essence.

Molly Shannon backs Kenan Thompson to take over from 'genius' Lorne Michaels as 'SNL' showrunner

Actor Molly Shannon has backed the idea of Kenan Thompson taking over from longtime " Saturday Night Live" showrunner Lorne Michaels, despite calling Michaels "irreplaceable." Asked what she thought about Thompson potentially taking the reins at the NBC show in an interview with People, Shannon, who was a cast member between 1995 and 2001, said it was "an excellent idea." "I love this idea. He's the greatest — I adore Kenan," she said, adding that he was "so talented." Thompson joined "SNL" in 2003 and is the longest-tenured cast member in its history, notching his 22nd season this year. Rumors of Michaels' retirement grew as "SNL" neared its 50th anniversary earlier this year, fueling speculation over who could take over as showrunner. For Shannon, it seems the show will never be the same, no matter who comes in. "There's no one who could replace him. It would not be the same show," Shannon told People of Michaels, who created the sketch comedy show in 1975. "He's just a one-of-a-kind genius. Brilliant. Smart." "It's his show, his vision," she added. In September 2024, Michaels, 80, addressed speculation over his future, telling The Hollywood Reporter he had no "immediate" plans to retire. "I just know that this is kind of what I do and as long as I can keep doing it, I'll keep doing it," he said at the time. Earlier this year, Thompson hinted that fans of "SNL" could see a major shakeup when the show returns following the wrap of its 50th season. "Especially this year where it feels like there's maybe, possibly, a lot of change next year," he told Page Six. "You want everyone to stay forever, knowing that people may be making decisions this summer." He added that he had yet to sign a new contract for the coming season but expressed interest in returning. "You just never know what the future holds," he said. "I don't want to be in the way of someone else." "I don't want to be the stale old man riding the same old thing. That doesn't really happen that much at 'SNL' but there's no guarantees," he added.

How A$AP Rocky Is Helping Rihanna During Her Third Pregnancy

THE RUNDOWN As Rihanna and A$AP Rocky prepare to welcome their third child together, a source tells People they couldn't be more 'thrilled' and their 'bond has only deepened' as they've welcomed expanded their family. The couple shares two sons, RZA and Riot Rose, and announced they were expecting again in May. 'Rihanna and Rocky couldn't be more thrilled to be growing their family again with baby number three,' the insider explained. 'They've really embraced this chapter and their bond has only deepened since becoming parents.' The rapper 'has been incredibly attentive and nurturing throughout this pregnancy,' according to the source, who added, 'He's so hands on with RZA and Riot, changing diapers, doing bedtime routines, and keeping them entertained so Rihanna can rest. He's completely tuned into her needs.' Rocky is not just showing up as a parent, but as a partner. 'He's always thinking of ways to show up for Rihanna, whether it's bringing her late night cravings when she's in the mood or creating little ways for her to unwind,' the source continued. 'He'll run her baths, massage her feet and take care of things around the house so she doesn't have to lift a finger.' They went on to say that Rihanna's third pregnancy feels 'especially meaningful because they've grown so much together as partners and parents.' 'Rocky is Rihanna's biggest cheerleader. He always makes her laugh, he keeps things light and full of love,' the source shared. 'They both prioritize their family time above everything and it's clear this is what matters most to them.' On Saturday, June 28, Rocky seemed to give away the new baby's gender at the Smurfs world premiere in Brussels. He and Rihanna walked the red carpet together, where he answered a question from Entertainment Tonight co-host Kevin Frazier. Frazier demanded, 'Is that the girl you've been waiting for?' In May, a source told People, 'Rihanna has always wanted a big family, so she couldn't be more excited. Rihanna and Rocky are thrilled to be growing their family and they can't wait to give their boys another sibling.' They continued, 'They wanted to have their children close together in age, so that they could grow up together and share a close bond. Jennifer Lopez Sings About ‘Wreckage' In New Song Inspired By Ben Affleck

THE RUNDOWN On Wednesday, July 2, Jennifer Lopez offered a listening party in Los Angeles to some lucky fans, where she sang six songs and a new ballad called 'Wreckage of You,' according to People. The song reportedly touches on themes inspired by her divorce from Ben Affleck. The singer filed last year in August on what would have been their second wedding anniversary. One lucky fan at the concert, Edgardo Luis Rivera, told Us Weekly, ''Wreckage of You' is a pop ballad that she told us she cowrote and recorded two weeks ago. She said she was lying in bed after a long day of tour rehearsals when the idea of the song came to her. She mentioned how last year was a very difficult time for her both personally and professionally. She had to cancel her tour and really focus on herself. Fast-forward to one year later, and she feels better and stronger than ever, so she wanted to write a song about coming out of a bad situation much stronger.' Lopez also performed her older hits, including 'Up All Night,' 'Regular,' 'Free,' 'Save Me Tonight,' and 'Birthday.' Since her split from Affleck, Lopez has been very candid about the challenges that she faced around their break up, telling Nikki Glaser for Interview magazine that it 'almost did take [her] out for good.' 'I was thinking about this time in my life, and I'm like, 'That's not what I thought it was going to turn out like,'' Lopez shared. 'And then I thought, 'No, this is exactly where I needed to be, to lead me to where I want to go.'' She continued, 'That doesn't mean it didn't almost take me out for good. It almost did. But now, on the other side of it, I think to myself, 'Fuck, that is exactly what I needed. Thank you, God. I'm sorry it took me so long. I'm sorry that you had to do this to me so many times. I should have learned it two or three times ago. I get it. You had to hit me really hard over the head with a fucking sledgehammer. You dropped the house on me. Don't have to do it again.''
