While speaking with the hosts, the singer shared that she worked hard for 16 months to perfect her performance for Coachella 2025.
Coachella was electrified as Jennie made her solo debut at this year's festival. Held at the Empire Polo Club in California over two weekends in April, the crowd erupted in excitement as the BLACKPINK member delivered high-energy performances. Nearly a month after captivating audiences with her set, the 29-year-old K-pop sensation opened up about the emotional experience of taking the iconic stage—this time, all on her own.
On Wednesday, May 7, BLACKPINK's Jennie appeared as a guest on the popular chat show You Quiz on the Block. While speaking with the hosts, the singer shared that she toiled for 16 months to perfect her performance for Coachella 2025. Explaining some details about the renowned music festival, Jennie, as quoted by Soompi, said, 'It's one of the biggest music festivals in the world. It runs for two weeks. From Friday to Sunday, countless artists gather in the middle of the desert for this festival."
Jennie, who performed in front of a crowd of 2,50,000 people, revealed that she was initially not sure if people would come to watch her performance in the desert. However, her perception changed once she was up on the stage. 'Even while I was on stage, I was surprised by the energy. I don't know why I felt so emotional. It felt like I was being rewarded for all the determination that went into the preparation," she told the hosts. The BLACKPINK member continued, 'Before the performance, I wondered, 'Will people come to watch?' But looking out from the stage, there was no end in sight."
When she was asked how many times she rewatched her Coachella performance, Jennie admitted to having watched it twice. The K-pop idol shared that she usually never rewatches her performances because of her overthinking, but this time, it was different. 'I kept going back to it on my phone. I normally don't monitor myself much. I tend to overthink, so I try to keep some distance because I might fixate on small details. But I did watch a bit of Coachella. Not because it was perfect but because I sincerely gave it my all. It was a little embarrassing, but I watched it," she explained.
At Coachella 2025, Jennie performed songs from her recently released solo album, Ruby. Her set included crowd favourites like Zen, Handlebars, Mantra and, of course, the anthem Like JENNIE.

Calls for KPop Demon Hunters 2 Grow as Netflix Animation Pushes Soundtrack Golden for Awards Consideration

Netflix is pushing its hit animated film KPop Demon Hunters into the awards race. Variety confirmed that the streamer will officially submit the movie's standout track 'Golden' for awards consideration. Released on June 20, KPop Demon Hunters follows Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, three members of the fictional K-Pop girl group Huntr/x. In the film, the trio uses their voices to fight soul-eating demons and protect their loyal fans. The animated feature, produced by Sony Pictures Animation, quickly made waves. The film debuted with 9.2 million views on Netflix in its first week and climbed to 24.2 million views in its second week. It reached Netflix's Top 10 in all 93 countries tracked and hit No. 1 in 33 countries, including South Korea, Mexico, Brazil, France, and the Philippines. 'Golden' gets official single release The anthem 'Golden' has become a major hit from the film's soundtrack. The track will be released as an official single by Republic Records on Friday, July 4. The single will include three versions: 'Golden,' 'Golden - Instrumental,' and Golden - A Cappella. The film's soundtrack debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200, making it the highest soundtrack debut of 2025. Huntr/x is now the top female group on Spotify by daily streams, and the album is the most-streamed project daily on the platform. Here's why 'Golden' stands out 'Golden' is performed by EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and REI AMI. It was written by EJAE and Mark Sonnenblick, and produced by 24, Ido, Teddy Park, and Ian Eisendrath. The song is now the most-streamed track from the KPop Demon Hunters album worldwide. The song ties as the highest-charting song by a female K-Pop group in U.S. Spotify history, peaking at No. 3. It also debuted at No. 81 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has seen a 2000% increase in streams on Apple Music since its release. Composer Ian Eisendrath told Variety that 'Golden' was the sixth song written for the film. 'Our goal from day one was to have the songs double-function as songs that forward or comment on the action story, because I do not believe you can take up screen time and not have it do something for the story,' Eisendrath said. In the movie, Huntr/x performs 'Golden' while sealing the Golden Honmoon, a barrier to keep demons away. The emotional bridge reveals lead singer Rumi's secret: she is part-demon, with marks on her arms. 'The bridge is totally a narrative character,' Eisendrath added. 'It's the moment that the conflict, in many ways, enters the story. It just has so much joy and reach and yearning and longing.'

From BTS J-Hope, Lee Min-ho, to SEVENTEEN: Celebs attend BLACKPINK's star-studded 'Deadline' concert

BLACKPINK, the global K-pop sensation, officially kicked off their highly anticipated world tour, Deadline, on July 4, in Goyang, Seoul, marking a powerful reunion of the quartet following their respective solo endeavours. The second night of BLACKPINK's Goyang concert drew widespread attention not only for BLACKPINK's electrifying performance but also for the high-profile attendees who filled the audience. From top K-pop idols to leading Korean actors, the venue was brimming with star power. Among the most talked-about guests was BTS' J-Hope, whose entrance reportedly caused quite a stir. A concert-goer remarked, "Someone who attended BLACKPINK's concert today said that he thought there was an earthquake when J-Hope entered the area (sic)." As always, Jisoo's close connections were highlighted, with a shoutout to her Snowdrop castmates in attendance: '#JISOO with her Snowdrop family at BLACKPINK Deadline World Tour Concert in Goyang Day 2 (sic).' What stood out to many was the show of unity among celebrities, transcending fandom rivalries. One fan wrote poignantly: "The way these artists always support their fellow artists, while the fans are busy fighting over unnecessary things. It just proves the beef is all in your heads (sic)." Indeed, BLACKPINK's Deadline concert did not merely serve as a musical spectacle, but also as a celebration of camaraderie and mutual respect within the South Korean entertainment industry. As one fan perfectly summed it up: 'BLACKPINK is literally insane for collecting both senior and junior groups. They are truly the celebrity of all celebrities (sic).' With such a dazzling start in Seoul, BLACKPINK's Deadline world tour promises to be an unforgettable journey, not just for BLINKs, but for the entire entertainment world watching closely.

In India, fans can stream the upcoming episodes on Amazon Prime Video from 7:10 PM IST. GOOD BOY plotline GOOD BOY introduces a bold concept: a government-backed initiative that recruits former national-level athletes to combat crime. These individuals were once known for breaking records and winning medals. Now, they use their strength, stamina, and discipline to tackle serious criminal investigations. The transition from stadiums to crime scenes brings a refreshing twist to the genre, merging the spirit of sports with high-stakes missions. Instead of sticking to conventional detective storylines, GOOD BOY brings a fresh layer of intrigue. This unusual setup is one of the drama's strongest appeals, pulling in viewers who crave something beyond the ordinary. GOOD BOY cast One of the biggest draws of GOOD BOY is Park Bo Gum 's bold transformation. He breaks the mold with his portrayal of Yoon Dong Ju. He plays a passionate, street-smart former athlete-turned-police officer. While Park Bo Gum leads the charge, GOOD BOY is far from a one-man show. The supporting cast adds serious depth and chemistry. Kim So Hyun, Oh Jung Se, Lee Sang Yi, Heo Sung Tae, and Tae Won Seok each play crucial roles. The characters are well-written, each bringing their own backstory and unique skill set to the team. Whether it's sharp wit, emotional baggage, or high-level combat skills, every member has something memorable to offer. Their interactions, both comedic and heartfelt, keep the story from feeling one-dimensional.
