Amid growing speculation that the pop superstar is stepping away from music to pursue acting full-time, Grande took to Instagram to assure fans that singing remains central to her identity. Grande described music as her 'lifeline,' emphasizing that while her career may be taking new directions, she is committed to making room for all her passions. The Grammy-winning artist also hinted at a musical comeback, revealing that she is working on plans to reconnect with fans through live performances. 'I'm working on a plan to sing for you all next year. Even if it's just for a little. I love you,' she wrote. She stars as Glinda in Wicked: For Good, the second part of the highly anticipated film adaptation set for release in November 2025. She's also set to appear in Meet the Parents 4 alongside Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller. Grande will lend her voice to the upcoming animated adaptation of Dr. Seuss' Oh, the Places You'll Go! Community spirit shines as Liwa Date Festival grows as a symbol of Emirati pride

17 July 2025 21:43 AMEINAH ALZEYOUDI (LIWA CITY)Year after year, Liwa Date Festival exceeds expectations, expanding in scale, quality, and impact. Behind its success is a passionate team — including volunteers who work closely with organisers to ensure smooth operations and an engaging experience for all Al Mazrouei, a university student, has travelled from Abu Dhabi to Al Dhafra Region to volunteer at the festival, and she has been doing so for three years now. 'This festival is not just about dates — it's about heritage, family, and pride,' Al Mazrouei told Aletihad . To her, devoting time to the event is a tribute to her roots, an expression of pride in the culture she grew up with.'My grandparents were date farmers, and by volunteering, I feel like I'm honouring their legacy and preserving our traditions for future generations,' she said. At the festival, volunteers help out in several aspects, from managing logistics and guiding visitors to assisting with competitions and promoting sustainability initiatives. Their efforts support the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority's goal of creating an organised, enriching experience for both visitors and participants. Ahmed Al Mansouri, who is also from Abu Dhabi, is volunteering for the first time this year at the fest's 21st edition. 'What inspired me to volunteer was the sense of belonging,' he said.'Everyone here is working with a shared goal: to celebrate something deeply rooted in our culture. I've met people from all over the country, and we're all connected through this experience.'It's more than just an event, Al Mansouri said, 'it's a national story we're writing together.'For Aisha Al Rumaithi, another volunteer and an environmental science graduate, being part of the event is a way to show her appreciation of the local culture. 'I grew up hearing stories about the Liwa Oasis and how important dates are to our survival and identity,' said Al Rumaithi. 'Now, to be part of an event that blends our past with our future — sustainability, innovation, and culture — is incredibly meaningful to me.'With its strong focus on community engagement, education, and economic development, Liwa Date Festival stands as a testament to the UAE's commitment to preserving its cultural roots while looking confidently toward the future. From the hands of farmers to the hearts of visitors and the tireless work of volunteers, the festival continues to blossom —season after season — as a symbol of resilience, unity, and Emirati pride.

Stunning new road to Khorfakkan announced by Sharjah Ruler

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, announced the building of a new road 'over the peaks reaching Khorfakkan.' In a statement shared by UAE Barq, the Sharjah Ruler addressed a statement to 'Direct Line' and said, 'We will build a road over the peaks and foothills of the mountains, reaching Khorfakkan, and it will be a marvel like no other, and driving on it will be a true pleasure.' Al Qasimi added that the 'road will be surrounded by trees, plants, waterways, and beautiful residences.' As for its location, Al Qasimi said it will ascend from the Ghazir Tunnel to reach the highest mountain peak in Khorfakkan, at an altitude of 1,100 meters above sea level.' Sharjah News shared the news on their official social media alongside a video. It comes with a title in Arabic which translates to 'A project that no one has seen before.' What is Sharjah's Direct Line? Sharjah's Direct Line is a radio program in the UAE where citizens and expats can raise their concerns. And according to English daily newspapers, it has one keen listener – The Ruler of Sharjah. At the moment, there is no start date or a completion date, but we will share the news on as soon as we know more. About Khorfakkan Khorfakkan has become a popular spot for a day trips in the UAE, and the sleepy beach town is transforming into quite the tourist destination. While it may be too humid to truly enjoy a visit at the moment, there's so much to check out, from its sailing, fishing, or kayaking opportunities to visiting Al Suhub Rest House or just getting your Instagram photos at the Khorfakkan amphitheatre and waterfall. If you want to consider a dinner here, The View by Wave is a great pit stop at Rabi Tower, or you can now even make a weekend of it and check-in at Najd Al Meqsar a former traditional mountain village that has been transformed into a beautiful heritage hotel of just seven 'Kareen Houses', each with a bedroom each.
