Health-E Commerce® expands telehealth offerings with LifeMD™ to provide sleep treatments via FSA Store® and HSA Store®

New collaboration delivers 50% off prescription sleep support for new customers who are struggling with insomnia and sleep disruption
DALLAS, June 9, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Health-E Commerce, the parent brand of FSA Store and HSA Store, the first and leading online stores dedicated to selling only FSA- and HSA-eligible products and services, announced today that it has expanded its telehealth collaboration with LifeMD™, a leader in virtual care. This latest initiative gives FSA and HSA users affordable, convenient access to FDA-approved prescription sleep treatments at a time when better sleep care is urgently needed. According to the CDC, insufficient sleep is linked to higher risks of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and depression, which means expanded access to treatment is not just beneficial, it's essential.
The arrangement allows new customers who shop at FSA Store or HSA Store to receive 50% off prescription sleep medications from LifeMD, with no in-person appointments required. Following a free virtual consultation, approved patients can have non-addictive, physician-prescribed treatments discreetly delivered to their door, making it easier than ever to address sleep concerns with clinically backed solutions.
'The connection between sleep and our overall physical and mental health is undeniable, and poor sleep can even impact our productivity at work and our overall quality of life,' said Keri Kaiser, chief revenue officer for Health-E Commerce. 'The expansion of our telehealth collaboration with LifeMD gives consumers more options for diagnosing and treating sleep disorders and improving sleep health, while saving money by using tax-free FSA- and HSA-eligible services. We're proud to simplify access to care for millions of Americans and to maximize their healthcare dollars.'
Many individuals who experience poor sleep rely on over-the-counter remedies that may not be effective for persistent insomnia or sleep disruptions. Fortunately, LifeMD's prescription sleep solutions are designed to address the root causes of poor sleep with medications that target sleep onset, duration, and quality, including Ramelteon, Doxepin, and Trazodone. Eligibility for prescription treatments is determined by a licensed LifeMD physician and backed by LifeMD's 4.9-star patient satisfaction rating.
'We're proud to expand our telehealth collaboration with Health-E Commerce to give individuals and families who are enrolled in FSAs and HSAs access to clinical support to improve sleep health and their overall quality of life,' said Nicholas Alvarez, co-founder and chief acquisition & growth officer at LifeMD. 'Everyone deserves access to quality medical care that is convenient and affordable, and by collaborating with FSA Store and HSA Store, we are able to effectively extend the reach of our services to individuals and families across the country.'
LifeMD's sleep solutions are now available at FSAstore.com and HSAstore.com, alongside other telehealth services for home sleep apnea testing, CPAP devices and supplies, CPAP alternatives, and more. This launch reinforces Health-E Commerce's mission to make tax-free healthcare dollars work harder for the more than 70 million Americans enrolled in pre-tax health accounts. Statement from the American Nurses Association on Passing of H.R.1 in the Senate

Patients, Nurses, Hospitals and Our Health System Count on Medicaid SILVER SPRING, Md., July 1, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — As Congress considers proposals that would significantly reduce federal support for Medicaid, the American Nurses Association is urging lawmakers to reflect not only on the policy implications but also on the real-world consequences for patients, providers, and communities across the country. 'Today, the Senate passed HR1, which, if it becomes law, will have devastating consequences for patients, nurses, and healthcare overall, particularly for those in rural and medically underserved areas. Patients and nurses deserve better,' said Jennifer Mensik Kennedy, president of the ANA. 'Medicaid is not just a budget line item—it is the backbone of care for millions of Americans, including seniors in nursing homes, children with complex medical needs, and working families in rural and underserved areas. It is also a critical pillar of the nursing workforce. Cuts to Medicaid would result in hospital and clinic closures, especially in rural areas, and would force nurses to shoulder even heavier workloads, leading to burnout, attrition, and ultimately, worse patient outcomes.' These are not abstract warnings. Nurses across the country are already reporting the strain: higher patient ratios, reduced resources, and the moral injury of being unable to provide the care their patients deserve. Medicaid accounts for 19% of hospital revenues nationwide. Reductions in funding will ripple through the entire health care system, threatening both access and quality of care. Elected members of Congress should consider the political lessons of the past. In 2018, more than 20 Republican House members who voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act lost their seats. While many factors contributed to those outcomes, the public's concern over health care access—particularly Medicaid—was a decisive issue in many districts. This is an important reminder that voters care deeply about health care, and they are paying attention. Constituents, especially nurses in the communities and their patients, are relying on our elected officials to do the right thing and to protect Medicaid. About the American Nurses Association As the oldest organization representing more than 5 million registered nurses, the American Nurses Association stands at the forefront of advancing nursing excellence. The association harnesses The Power of Nurses™ to champion the profession and drive transformation in healthcare. Through legislative and political advocacy, comprehensive educational services, and the profession's leading Code of Ethics and Scope and Standards, the association empowers nurses across every specialty and practice setting. The association is committed to ensuring healthy work environments, shaping pioneering policies, and cultivating partnerships that enhance both the nursing profession and the broader healthcare experience. Perak introduces special module to help PWDs gain employment

TAIPING: The Perak government, through several departments and agencies, has developed a special module to help Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) receive training for suitable employment, thereby enabling them to earn an income. State Human Resources, Health, Indian Community Affairs and National Integration Committee chairman A. Sivanesan said those interested can register at his office, the Social Welfare Department (JKM), or the Perak Children's Aspiration Centre (Pasak). He said the module offers both short- and long-term courses, with each participant receiving an allowance of RM50 per day. 'Currently, there are about 5,000 unemployed persons with disabilities in Perak. I believe that through these modules, whether short-term (10 days to two weeks) or long-term (over three months), we can help them. 'This is more than just training; it is about creating opportunities for PWDs to start a new chapter in life through a career that boosts their confidence and improves their standard of living,' he said. He said this at a press conference, representing the Perak Menteri Besar, at the opening of the 2nd Malaysian Occupational Therapy Symposium organised by the Ministry of Health (MOH) here today. The event was also attended by MOH's head of Occupational Therapist Profession, Nora Hamid. Sivanesan added that the module is open to all PWDs, regardless of gender, race, or religion. In a separate matter, he said the state government does not reject the proposal to deploy a dedicated team or health personnel to monitor and improve emergency response along the East-West Highway (JRTB). Sivanesan said the proposal was appropriate and would be raised in discussions with the relevant authorities for further consideration. 'It's a proposal we believe is worth implementing. However, for now, the Transport Ministry is working to enhance safety along the JRTB route by installing additional street lights and warning signs. 'Road repair works are also underway by the Public Works Department. In the meantime, I urge all road users to exercise caution and follow all posted warning signs along the route,' he said.

Pikachu, Snorlax named Japan ambassadors to promote better sleep

Newly appointed sleep support ambassadors Pikachu (left) and Snorlax, posing for a photo at the Health, Labour and Welfare Ministry in Tokyo on June 26, 2025. - The Yomiuri Shimbun TOKYO: In a charming and strategic move to encourage healthy sleeping habits, Pikachu and Snorlax — two beloved characters from the globally popular Pokemon franchise — have officially been appointed as 'sleep support ambassadors' by the Japanese government. The Health, Labour and Welfare Ministry spearheaded this initiative, which leverages the appeal of these iconic figures to encourage people, especially children, to develop better sleep habits. The characters are expected to participate in various public awareness events, adding a fun, recognizable element to the important message that everyone needs to get enough sleep. The ministry recommends nine to 12 hours of sleep for elementary students, and eight to 10 hours for junior and high school students, to maintain good health. Since last fiscal year, the ministry has been collaborating with the Pokemon Company, which publishes 'Pokemon Sleep,' a smartphone game that tracks the user's sleep. Together, they have created brochures and other materials to encourage adequate sleep. On Thursday (June 26), the day of the announcement, Snorlax and a nightcapped Pikachu visited the ministry and received their letters of appointment from Health, Labour and Welfare Minister Takamaro Fukuoka. 'We hope to continue working with the health ministry to positively change sleep habits,' said Pokemon Company Representative Director Takato Utsunomiya. - The Japan News/ANN
