Collector calls for saving on electricity bills with Surya Ghar scheme
Collector Chetan pointed out that high power consumption forces the government to purchase additional electricity, impacting the state budget. By adopting solar systems, households can save money and contribute to energy conservation. He gave examples: a 1 kW system generating 120 units can reduce a ₹1,000 bill to ₹338; a 2 kW system producing 240 units can lower a ₹2,000 bill to ₹333; and a 3 kW system generating 360 units can cut a ₹2,500 bill to ₹293. Annual savings may reach ₹8,000, ₹20,000, and ₹32,400 respectively.
He also announced government subsidies: ₹30,000 for a 1 kW system, ₹50,000 for 2 kW, and ₹78,000 for 3 kW. Steps are being taken to install solar plants on two-acre plots in each village, and banks are ready to provide loans.
MLA Sindhura Reddy emphasized the importance of using solar energy, especially as Anantapur records some of the highest temperatures in India. Former Minister Dr. Raghunatha Reddy encouraged the public to utilize the scheme, noting that solar energy can reduce financial pressure on the government while generating additional income from surplus energy. The event concluded with the inauguration of solar stalls by local officials.

Naidu to launch parents-teachers meet at Kothacheruvu on July 10
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will be arriving at Kothacheruvu in Sri Sathya Sai district on July 10 to launch the State-wide mega parents-teachers meeting (PTM) 2.0 programme. Public urged to use toll-free number 1100 to register grievances
Sri Sathya Sai District Collector T.S. Chetan on Sunday urged the public to go for optimal use of the government's toll-free helpline 1100 to register their grievances and follow up the same under the 'Meekosam' programme. In a statement issued here, the Collector highlighted that the helpline is designed to provide easy access to government departments for quick resolution of public complaints. He informed the applicants who have already registered their petitions but without a response or or those seeking updates on the status of their applications, to dial 1100. The Collector said that the initiative would help the citizens to get their grievances resolved without delays. The Collector said that the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) session will be conducted at the Collectorate on Monday from 9.30 am to 1.00 pm. The sessions would also be simultaneously conducted at the division, mandal, and municipality levels across Sri Sathya Sai district to give greater access to public. The Collector said that the public who have no feasibility to submit their petitions at the PGRS centres physically can submit online through the dedicated portal

MLA Sindhura urges Irrigation Min to release pending land compensation for farmers
Vijayawada: Puttaparthi MLA Palle Sindhura Reddy, along with former minister Dr Palle Raghunatha Reddy, met Andhra Pradesh Irrigation Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu in Amaravati on Tuesday, urging him to sanction the pending land compensation for farmers who lost their lands under the 9th package of the Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi project near Puttaparthi. The MLA brought to the Minister's notice that several farmers in Pedda Kammavaripalli village, under Ward 20 of Puttaparthi Municipality, had their lands acquired in 2017 during the previous TDP government for canal construction under Survey No. 374, but have not received any compensation to date. While some farmers under the same survey number were granted compensation at the rate of ₹23 lakhs per acre, others such as Mummaneni Venkata Narayana, Mummaneni Rammohan, and a few more are still awaiting their dues. The MLA emphasized that despite eight years passing, the affected farmers have not been compensated. They also pointed out that land prices have significantly increased since 2017, and urged the government to reassess and ensure appropriate compensation is paid in line with current land values. They appealed for immediate and fair resolution in favor of the affected farmers. In response, Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu acknowledged the seriousness of the issue and assured that the government is committed to supporting the affected farming community. He promised to seek detailed reports from district officials regarding the pending compensation under the 9th package of the Handri-Neeva canal and take swift action to ensure justice is delivered. The minister also pledged to investigate the reasons for the delay in compensation and address the matter promptly.
