Ongole: A five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) officially began on Monday at QIS Engineering College here. The programme, a collaborative effort between the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Chennai, and QIS Engineering College, is being held in the college's Ramanujan Seminar Hall.
Dr Nidamanuri Surya Kalyan Chakravarthy, Head of the Institution, and Dr Nidamanuri Sri Gayathri, Executive Vice-Chairman, announced the commencement of the FDP.
The FDP aims at enhancing teaching methodologies, with sessions specifically designed to raise awareness among faculty members on Pedagogical Strategies for the 21st Century. These sessions will delve into the essential changes and strategies needed in teaching in response to current trends and developments in education.
Prof KS Giridharan and Dr M Anil Kumar from NITTTR are serving as the key resource persons for the programme, sharing their expertise with the participating faculty. The event is being overseen by Dr Satya Meher, Dean of Academics at QIS Engineering College, and is presided over by the college principal, Dr YV Hanumantha Rao. Heads of Departments (HODs), Deans, and Directors were also present at the inaugural ceremony, underscoring the college's commitment to faculty development.

KLH Aziznagar Campus to Host Faculty Development Program on Digital English Education

KLH Aziznagar Hyderabad is set to organise a Five-Day Faculty Development Program (FDP) titled 'The English Classroom in the Digital Age: Opportunities and Challenges' from June 16 to 20, 2025. Organized by the Department of English, KLH, this academic event is being held in collaboration with the Department of Literatures in English, English and Foreign Languages University (EFL-U), Hyderabad, and the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, NIT, Warangal. The program is designed to equip faculty members and research scholars with the necessary knowledge, tools, and strategies to engage effectively with the rapidly evolving educational landscape shaped by digital advancements. The FDP aims to explore both the opportunities and challenges of integrating digital tools into English education, offering participants a platform to critically reflect on emerging teaching methodologies. The program will also focus on how digital technologies are transforming the teaching and learning of English, how these tools are conceptualized and applied in English studies, and particularly, the role of Artificial Intelligence in enhancing classroom engagement and pedagogical innovation. With an emphasis on communication, critical thinking, creativity, and cultural awareness, English studies are particularly well-suited to leverage these technologies for more dynamic and engaging learning experiences. Er. Koneru Lakshman Havish, Vice-President of KL Deemed to be University, stated, 'In the face of rapid technological advancement, educators must not only adapt but lead with purpose. Jagran Lakecity University Organises Dual Faculty Development Programs to Enhance Academic Excellence and Innovation

Jagran Lakecity University (JLU), in collaboration with Association of Indian Universities (AIU) established an Academic and Administrative Development Centre (AADC) in May 2025. Two intensive Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) were conducted recently at the Centre aimed at improving the academic ecosystem of the state and equipping educators for future-forward teaching and research. FDP on Assurance of Learning: Need and Practice at Media Studios of Jagran Lakecity University with noted expert Dr. Samar Sarabhai as a resource person The first FDP, titled 'Assurance of Learning: Need and Practice', was held from 18th May to 4th June 2025. This program brought together senior academic leadership of the University including Pro Vice Chancellors, Deans, Heads of Schools, and senior faculty members. The sessions focused on aligning and refreshing the curriculum and course outlines of all programs at JLU, in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, and embedding Outcome-Based Education (OBE) into the university's academic framework. Senior faculty members deliberating on various aspects of academic quality and outcome based education during FDP Key objectives of this FDP included understanding the meaning, need, and relevance of OBE in the form of Assurance of Learning (AoL), specifying and designing learning outcomes for each student studying in the university. Outcome of every course offered in the university was aligned with the learning outcomes of the respective programs and ultimately the vision and mission of JLU. Conducted through a combination of lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practice, this FDP aimed to drive academic excellence by fostering reflective teaching practices, effective evaluation and assessments leading to measurable learning outcomes. Parallelly, another futuristic FDP was organised from 26th May to 30th May 2025, focusing on the Impact of Artificial Intelligence in Teaching, Learning & Research. Open to all faculty and research staff in JLU as well as other universities in the region, this program explored the integration of AI tools and concepts in higher education. The sessions covered a broad spectrum of topics including What Every Educator Should Know About AI, AI Tools to Enhance Teaching-Learning, The Art of Prompting, Creating Effective Presentations for Teaching and Learning using AI and AI in Academic Research and Innovation. Reflecting on these FDPs, Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr) Nilanjan Chattopadhyay said, ' At Jagran Lakecity University, we believe that empowered educators are the foundation of transformative learning. These Faculty Development Programs are not just training sessions-they are a reaffirmation of our commitment to excellence, innovation, and the future of education. By aligning with the vision of the NEP and embracing the possibilities of AI, we are equipping our faculty to lead with purpose, inspire with knowledge, and shape a generation ready to thrive in a dynamic world.' Eminent experts from academia and the tech industry led the sessions, offering insights, practical tools, and discussions on the ethical and effective use of AI in education.
