Edinburgh TRNSMT goers encouraged to use public transport as ScotRail adds extra seats
In addition to extra seating, the train operator will also be running late-night services to help customers travel home from the three-day event.
Mark Ilderton, ScotRail Service Delivery Director, said: 'TRNSMT is one of Scotland's biggest music events, and we're looking forward to playing our part in helping music fans get to and from Glasgow Green as smoothly as possible.

'We're adding extra carriages to trains throughout the weekend and operating additional late-night services on key routes to support travel home after the event.
'Our best advice is to plan ahead, buy your tickets before you travel, and leave plenty of time to get to the station, particularly after the festival ends each night.'
The gates at TRNSMT open at 12pm on Friday, July 11, Saturday, July 12 and Sunday, July 13. Glasgow Green can be accessed from five stations, all within a 20-minute walk - Bridgeton, High Street, Glasgow Central, Glasgow Queen Street, and Argyle Street station.
After the festival, late-night services will be available from Glasgow Queen Street High Level and Edinburgh Waverley via Falkirk High and Glasgow Queen Street Low Level and Edinburgh Waverley via Bathgate.
ScotRail is reminding customers to plan ahead, allow extra time for travel, and purchase tickets in advance via the their app, website, or at a self-service ticket machine to help make their journey as seamless as possible.

Man spotted walking sheep on lead through station
Rail staff and passengers were surprised to see a man walking a sheep on a lead through a train station. ScotRail shared a picture of the man leading the animal along a platform at Paisley Gilmour Street station in Renfrewshire this week. It is not clear where they were going, though the next train due to arrive at the platform was one heading to Largs in North Ayrshire. In a social media post, ScotRail said: 'Well, ewe don't see that every day at Paisley Gilmour Street!' The photo shows the sheep looking docile as it walks along attached to a red lead while a man sitting on a bench looks on in apparent amusement. A ScotRail spokesperson said: 'Monday evening brought one of the more ewe-nique sights on Scotland's Railway. 'We're used to livestock on the line causing disruption, but thankfully this visitor at Paisley Gilmour Street was on a lead and well baa-haved.' Social media users joked about the incident, with one posting: 'I hope they've got a ticket or they'll be RAMifications…,' while another said: 'Seen it at Baaarhead.' Others said they had seen the sheep being led along on a lead in Ayr and Prestwick in South Ayrshire in recent days.

Commuters bemused after man spotted walking sheep at train station
COMMUTERS were left bemused after a man was spotted taking a sheep for a walk at a train station in Paisley. An image shared by ScotRail shows the man walking a sheep on a lead at Paisley Gilmour Street recently. In the background of the photo, another man can be seen smiling as the pair went past. The caption reads: 'Well, ewe don't see that every day at Paisley Gilmour Street.' Travel chaos this morning as power cut affects trains going to Glasgow Central
Commuters are facing travel chaos this morning after a power cut is affecting train services to Glasgow Central Station. Network Rail has confirmed that an outage to the overhead power lines between Glasgow Central and Cambuslang is causing significant disruption.
