Elizabeth Hurley hoping for 'great life' with Billy Ray Cyrus

Perth Now14-05-2025
Elizabeth Hurley hopes to have a "great life" with Billy Ray Cyrus.
The 59-year-old star recently shocked fans when she revealed she was dating the 'Achy Breaky Heart' hitmaker and though she admitted their romance was "unexpected", she's looking forward to their future together.
She told E! News: 'It was unexpected. But we're very happy together. And hopefully we'll have a great life.'
Elizabeth turns 60 next month and she's looking forward to celebrating the milestone with her new beau.
She said: 'I always leave things to chance, I like birthdays though.
'I like getting presents, I like getting flowers, I like everyone being nice to me for a day. So, whatever we do will be fun.'
The 'Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery' star's comments come after 63-year-old musician Billy praised Elizabeth as a "great human being".
He recently told their romance has evolved, recalling how they met while filming 2022's 'Christmas in Paradise' movie.
In a clip from 'The Ty Bentli Show', Billy Ray said: "We did very few scenes together but the couple times we were in the same scene there was a chemistry there. We just laughed, and it was at a time I wasn't laughing a lot.
"The oddest part was first, how much we laughed. Second, I figured we were so different but in some very strange way we had way more in common than we had different.
"If all we ever were [is] the friends that we are, I would take that. She's so impressively brilliant. She reminds me a lot of Dolly Parton. She's a very smart businesswoman.
"If you can laugh together, you can make it through everything."
While the pair met on the movie set, they didn't speak to each other for two years after shooting the film.
But Elizabeth re-entered Billy Ray's life when he needed a friend, following his split from wife Firerose.
He shared: "I felt like, 'Wow, can life get any harder? Can it get any tougher?' For me, at a certain point it was like, you can't get knocked down any flatter than laying on your back when life is kicking you. And in this moment ... a friend reached out."
Billy didn't recognise the number at first, so he text Elizabeth back.
He recalled: "I text back, I go, 'Who is this?' And it's like, 'Elizabeth Hurley.' Of all the people to reach out to me in that second that maybe I needed most ... this friend who made me laugh."

Ariana Madix's Love Island look 'requires a team effort'

Ariana Madix is constantly seeking "inspo" for her Love Island USA looks. The 40-year-old reality star has revealed that she's doing her best to stay in tip-top condition while hosting Love Island in Fiji. Speaking to E! News, Ariana explained: "I am in the gym all the time, unless I'm in the villa, depending on what time I go in, I may or may not go to the gym. But the gym is very important. So, I'm working out, I am drinking a lot of water." Despite this, Ariana insists she's not too strict with her approach to fitness and wellness. The TV star - who began hosting Love Island USA in 2024 - said: "I'm going to have some wine here and there. But I do try to keep things protein heavy." Ariana has turned heads with some of her eye-catching outfits on the reality TV show. But she admits that it requires a "team effort" to prepare for the series. She said: "I definitely have a lot of input with the looks but it's a team effort, from Emily Men, my stylist. "We do fittings before I leave and we are constantly sending each other inspo. Then she finds the most amazing things and then once we get here, we get the looks." Meanwhile, Ariana previously revealed that she loves hosting Love Island USA. The former Vanderpump Rules star told Parade: "I'm so excited. I just love the show, and I feel like we had such an amazing season last season, and I'm just so excited to be a part of it and to go back. "I love being the host of my favourite show." As the host, Ariana is required to be "unbiased" towards the contestants. However, Ariana admits that it's not always easy to maintain a neutral stance. She said: "[Something] I definitely learned about myself - that I really empathise with so much of what everyone goes through on the show - [is] that it's difficult for me to keep my personal thoughts and feelings at the door, but that it's such an important thing to do because as the host, I can't really be too forthcoming with what I think. Because of course I watch all the episodes, I watch everything, and I have to be very much unbiased, and I learned how difficult that really is to do."

'Can't wait': Georgie Tunny announces exciting new TV role with Network 10 just days after leaving The Project

Former Project co-host Georgie Tunny has confirmed her next move, revealing she's staying with Network 10 as part of its new current affairs show, 10 News+. The 34-year-old presenter, who appeared on The Project for three years, joins the team just days after the long-running news program aired its final episode. "I've always been a fan of news delivered differently and am excited to be staying with the 10 family," Tunny said. "Can't wait to see where this new chapter leads!" 10 News+ launched Monday night, fronted by Denham Hitchcock and Amelia Brace - both formerly of Channel Seven - and replaces The Project as part of a sweeping schedule shake-up at the network. The revamped evening line-up now includes 10 News First at 5pm, followed by 10 News+ from 6pm, Sunday to Thursday. Tunny joins a robust team on 10 News+ that includes Angela Bishop, Ashleigh Raper, Bill Hogan, Brianna Parkins, Samantha Butler, Carrie-Anne Greenbank, and Claudia Vrdoljak. The move is a bittersweet one for Tunny, who broke down in tears as she farewelled The Project on air last Friday. "I can't actually look at you all, I'm so sorry, because you've just been an absolute dream to work with," she told co-hosts Waleed Aly, Sarah Harris and Sam Taunton. "There can be a lot said about the media industry and its cat fights and all of this, but this has been a family from the beginning and I know that you'll still be in my life. "You can't get rid of me. I'm a stalker." It's not yet clear whether Melbourne-based Tunny will relocate to Sydney for her new role, with 10 News+ filmed at the network's Sydney studios. The presenter, who is engaged to performer Rob Mills, began her journalism career at the ABC where she spent four years as part of the News Breakfast team. She later hosted News Flash segments for Foxtel's now-defunct streaming service Flash before joining The Project in early 2022 following Carrie Bickmore's extended leave. In addition to her new 10 News+ role, Tunny was recently announced as the narrator for Channel 10's local edition of House Hunters Australia, which premiered in May. "Narrated by The Project's Georgie Tunny, the stakes are high as buyers tour three homes, each offering a unique mix of pros, cons, and unexpected decisions," the network said at the time. The news follows confusion surrounding The Project's official social media accounts, which continued to post content even after the show's cancellation. A day after the finale, the program's Instagram account featured a playful post that joked, "The bosses really should have changed the password from Password1." The anonymous admin, calling themselves the show's "social media hero"- followed up with a caption poking fun at executives: "Look who is in charge now. So, one question: what should I do with these accounts?" On Wednesday, the account returned once again, posting a tongue-in-cheek update: "Still cancelled. Still curious," alongside a caption expressing sadness over having "no one to share silly news with anymore."

Kanye West has had his visa cancelled by officials due to his antisemitic song titled 'Heil Hitler,' which has been removed from streaming platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube. The rapper and fashion designer is married to architectural designer Bianca Censori, who was born in Australia and holds a bachelor's and master's degree in architecture from the University of Melbourne. The pair, which tied the knot under a confidential marriage license in December 2022, were likely visiting for a holiday. Speaking to ABC's Afternoon Briefing, Immigration Minister Tony Burke said the musician, who was not coming to Australia for advocacy purposes, would not be welcome after releasing the song. 'I'm not taking away the way the act operates, but even for the lowest level of visa, when my officials looked at it, they cancelled that following the announcement of that song,' he said. 'We have enough problems in this country already without deliberately importing bigotry.' Ye and Australian wife Biance Censori | Image: Supplied This is the first time that a low-level visa application like Ye's has been cancelled for these reasons, according to Burke. He said that typically, a 'stricter line' applies to those who want to visit Australia for the purposes of public advocacy, but that was not the intention of West. Still, his office saw enough reason to cancel the visa after the release of the antisemitic song 'Heil Hitler,' which was released on May 8, 2025, as the third single from his upcoming album, In a Perfect World. The rapper recently announced that he was 'done with antisemitism', releasing a song titled 'Hallelujah' on May 31 as an alternate version of 'Heil Hitler' that replaces its references to Nazism with lyrics relating to Christianity. 'He's made a lot of offensive comments that my officials looked at again once he released song,' Burke continued. 'He's got family here … It wasn't a visa for the purpose of concerts. It was a lower-level and the officials still looked at the law and said if you're going to have a song and promote that sort of Nazism, we don't need that in Australia.' The rapper has recently announced concerts in Korea, Shanghai, and Slovakia for July 2025 and a one-night performance in Brazil in November 2025. His last performance was a Vultures Listening Experience in September last year at the Wuyuan River Sports Stadium in Haikou, China.
