Since then, AJ has undergone surgery on his elbow - as first revealed by SunSport in May - before giving fans an update on his recovery a couple of weeks later.
Promoter Eddie Hearn revealed he is now in talks for a fight which could be held in November or December, earmarking Jake Paul as one potential opponent.
But before that, the Watford Olympic gold medallist has been enjoying a summer getaway in Greece.
Joshua, 35, shared some photos and videos of his trip to the popular holiday destination of Mykonos.

Raging Hotline callers crank Rangers heat up on Russell Martin as Celtic pranksters hit the giggles
The Light Blues' escaped Athens with the draw they needed - but not all the fans were impressed Rangers took a step towards joining Europe's elite by seeing off Panathinaikos - but the blue bunting isn't out at Ibrox just yet. Russell Martin is finding out exactly how tough it could be in the Ibrox hot seat after just two games with the display in Athens failing to win many admirers. Progressing to the Champions League third qualifying round is one thing, but concerned Jamie Thomson said: "Martin's system is a nightmare. "Some of these Rangers' players are just not good enough. Passing is shocking, defence is a liability." Henry McCoy said: "As I was watching Rangers play I felt that the team had no clue as to where they were playing, and were getting no instruction from the manager. "If they were playing in Scotland they would have had a hiding. Something is wrong in the manager's translation. The team are surely not following his instructions and couldn't even defend their area." Donald Dundas, Uddingston said: "Martin deserves all the plaudits as he got us through. "However let's be honest, Rangers were shocking and Panathinaikos were just as bad. If Rangers play like that in the Premiership then teams will catch on and it could be another season of misery." Steve McSherry, Uddingston said: "Panathinaikos only have themselves to blame for losing a tie that they should have strolled. "They had enough chances in both legs but failed to capitalise on their dominance. Rangers on the other hand took the only chances they got." George McLeish said: "If Martin thinks his signings from England are the best he can sign, no wonder Southampton got relegated. How low have Rangers sunk when this lot is the best we can hope for? "We have two full backs who are always never in position, no decent strikers, if Panathinaikos had a decent striker we would have been murdered. Two Scottish players only in a team full of third rate players from south of the border. "Martin is completely out of his depth already, and it looks like another long frustrating season ahead." But Scott Gowers, Edinburgh insisted that Martin did deserve praid after having to take on UEFA as well as the Greek giants: "Rangers deserve huge credit against all the odds, it seems Rangers aren't just playing against the teams they're drawn against but against UEFA as well. "Rangers are so high up the coefficient they should be seeded yet not only do Rangers get the hardest draw possible they seem to be drawn at home first again in the third qualifying round. "The rest of the competition the seeds play at home last. No matter UEFA's stance on trying to ensure the bigger nations monopolise Rangers keep getting stronger and stronger in Europe. "All I want to know now is what rule UEFA will change next in their attempt to stop a smaller nation having a team break into the bigger countries monopoly which UEFA have clearly created." And he was joined by Robert Livingstone, Palm Beach in praising the boss for his early exploits: "Absolutely terrific results in horrible conditions well done to the side and Martin. "Progressing in the Champions League is what every club wants, and it may turn out to be a big money spinner. You never know how far the Rangers can go. It give's fans something to look forward to, maybe better days are just ahead for this famous old club." And some hyped up punters reckon that a title tilt is now on the cards, Joe Graham, Garrowhill said: "Rangers proved they are strong pretenders to go all the way in the championship league. "It must hurt for Celtic supporters who watched this game that they now have something to be worried about." Alan Fleet emailed: "Celtic, watch and learn! That's how to win a two legged European tie. We didn't play well but got the job done. We will still be in Europe long after you have suffered your annual dose of humiliation." But Charles Maxwell wasn't having any of it - insisting Brendan Rodgers will only be boosted by the display in Athens: "Celtic fans who may have been worried about penny pinching at Celtic will sleep well after watching that comedy in Athens. "Though Rangers got away with it again and the supporters may feel all is well that ends well, I haven't seen so many pockets picked since I went to see Oliver at the King's Theatre. "Their players looked like a bunch of hams who'd forgotten their lines at the dress rehearsal. I can't wait for the showdown." And while some Hoops' diehards may be giggling while watching their TV Sean McGarvey, Cumbernauld didn't find the transfer situation quite so funny: "They say that those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. "Well, I'm watching history repeat right now. Rodgers is for the off and that's why the Celtic board won't give the keys to the kingdom to a guy leaving at the end of the season. Same thing happened last time "Get Ange back in before it's too late and let Mr 'if he was chocolate he'd eat himself' slink back to England." 'Not a good sight': Rangers ace fires Celtic warning and hails 'new' Ibrox squad after Panathinaikos test

Rangers defender Max Aarons believes the club's new look squad are already showing they have what it takes to compete for the big trophies this season following their gritty win over Panathinaikos in the Champions League second qualifying round. Russell Martin's squad went into the game in Athens with a two goal lead following their 2-0 first leg victory at Ibrox last week, but were forced to dig deep in the Greek capital as the home side put pressure on the Rangers defence in sweltering heat. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad The Gers stuck to their task though, and ground out a 1-1 draw thanks to a fine strike from substitute Djeidi Gassama, who equalised for Rangers just seven minutes after Filip Đuričić's had opened the scoring for the home side in the 53rd minute. The 3-1 aggregate victory sets up a Champions League third qualifying round clash with Viktoria Plzeň at Ibrox next week, however, Aarons is convinced the early season tests in Europe will also be of huge benefit to Rangers domestically, as they look to wrestle the Scottish Premiership title from Celtic this season. Rangers' Djeidi Gassama celebrates after the Champions League second qualifying round second leg against Panathinaikos in Athens. | Getty Images 'The weather here, we are not used to that,' said Aarons. 'Coming here for the second leg, against a team at the top of their league is always going to extremely difficult. We knew what we were coming into tonight, and a different game to how it was at Ibrox. We had to grind it out. It's so early on in our time here, we've had five weeks with this manager and new players. 'It is definitely a test, and we've come through it. We grew into the first leg, and we grew into the game in this one as well. It is a great test for us, seeing this group can dig in to win, leagues, cup competition - anything - and get as far as you can. You look to the side and know we are going to battle, which is really good to see. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad 'These are the nights you want to be a part of, through to the next round and it is a massive step for this group. It gives us confidence going into the league. This is a real step for the squad especially after being together for just five weeks.' Aarons, who joined on loan from AFC Bournemouth last month, also reserved praise on fellow new signing Gassama, after the French winger's vital goal off the bench. The ex-Sheffield Wednesday man has enjoyed a blistering start to his Rangers career, with two goals in his first two appearances, and Aarons has called on the under-20 international to take his explosive start into their league season, which begins with a visit to Motherwell this Saturday.

Team Jake Paul get cocky as Anthony Joshua super fight comes with astonishing confidence
The Youtube star-turned fighters camp insist a showdown with Joshua is very much on the cards Jake Paul's management team have confirmed that discussions over a huge crossover fight with Anthony Joshua are ongoing. And the Youtuber-turned boxer's camp also claim that the 28-year-old will have no problem weighing in on the heavyweight scales. Since turning professional in 2020, Paul has won 12 of his 13 bouts, losing a points decision to Tommy Fury two and a half years ago. His record includes victories over former WBC middleweight world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and ageing heavyweight legend Mike Tyson but the American star is yet to share the ring with an active fighter. Two-time heavyweight world champion Joshua is searching for an opponent later this year as he recovers from an injury picked up in the aftermath of his devastating knockout defeat to Daniel Dubois last September. And while talk of a long-awaited Joshua v Tyson Fury showdown lingers, Most Valuable Promotions CEO and co-founder Naiksa Bidarian insists their man facing the 2012 Olympic gold medallist at some point this year is genuinely on the cards. Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "The fight can absolutely happen. Two of AJ's losses came against (Oleksandr) Usyk. Usyk weighed 220lbs for those fights. "Jake is not Usyk. But Jake fought (Mike) Tyson at 228lbs. "So size wise, we can get comfortable. We're actively discussing it." Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn recently stated that Paul will be in for a rude awakening if he decides to step into the ring with big-hitter Joshua. He told talkSPORT: "Look, he's calling out Gervonta Davis, who is a 135-pound lightweight, and he's calling out Anthony Joshua, that's a heavyweight monster. "I think Jake Paul is crazy enough to fight Anthony Joshua because the money would be absolutely obscene. "It's a catastrophic mismatch that people would tune in to watch because it would lead to the end of Jake Paul. "Hopefully, not literally, but it's that dangerous. "It's a fight that I don't think should really happen if I'm honest."
