(Video) Lee Soohyuk Charms Local Fans At First Public Appearance In Malaysia
Lee Soohyuk made an appearance at the roadshow at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, 16th July 2025), marking his first public appearance in Malaysia. As such, his guest appearance drew a massive crowd to the KL mall, as fans eagerly waited to catch a glimpse of the actor in person. Once Lee Soohyuk entered the building, the crowd erupted into a frenzy and cheered for the star.
The actor appeared in a simple black suit, which emphasised his fair complexion. As he made his way to the stage, he bowed to the fans and thanked them for their hospitality and enthusiastic support. Lee Soohyuk also said that he felt the warm support from fans the moment he arrived in Malaysia, as many gathered at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to welcome him to the country.
It seemed that the star was touched by the fans' overwhelming love and support, because he made sure to interact with as many fans as possible. On stage, Lee Soohyuk said, 'I'm so happy to finally meet Malaysian fans. I'm super nervous right now. Thanks for supporting me.' The 37-year-old also wishes to return to Malaysia, saying, 'I hope to visit Malaysia more. Thank you, Samsung, for giving me this opportunity.'
Of course, Lee Soohyuk also tried to speak a little Malay during his appearance. The 'S-Line' star melted hearts when he said 'Aku cinta padamu' in his signature deep voice. However, he admitted that he had practised another Malay phrase before his appearance, but had unfortunately forgotten it. Nevertheless, local fans were thrilled to hear the actor speak a little Malay while he's in town.
Lee Soohyuk is already back in South Korea, departing from KLIA late last night, after his event appearance. Seeing how much love the fans had for the actor, let's hope he'll visit again very soon.

The Borneo Flora Festival 2025, organised by Putrajaya Corporation in collaboration with Labuan Corporation, the Federal Territories Department, and Kuala Lumpur City Hall, will officially kick off on July 26. Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, is scheduled to grace the opening ceremony at the Labuan International Sea Sports Complex. This year's festival will feature more than 29 themed gardens, showcasing exotic and endangered flora native to Borneo, alongside contemporary landscape designs presented by local councils, private sector players, and community groups. 'The five-day event will include plant exhibitions, soft and hard landscape gardens, eco-talks, art installations, live performances by Malaysian artists, and family-friendly activities designed to raise environmental awareness and promote sustainable living,' Mohd Sukuran said. He added that the polybag planting strategy was adopted not only to enhance aesthetics, but also to allow for flexible, controlled growth and easier relocation, as the final designs take shape. 'Each phase of planting has been meticulously planned to ensure that the flowers are in full bloom when the festival begins. The strategic placement of 250,000 flowering plants across the island is part of our broader effort to infuse Labuan with the vibrant spirit of the festival,' he said. He said that the massive undertaking involves close coordination between municipal landscape teams, horticulturists, and local volunteers. The Borneo Flora Festival is expected to draw thousands of visitors, both domestic and international, including tourists from neighbouring Kalimantan and Brunei, boosted by an aggressive promotional campaign and improved ferry connectivity to Kota Kinabalu and beyond. National Art Gallery showcases reflection of BIMP-EAGA through contemporary art
THE Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry (MOTAC) through the National Visual Arts Development Board (LPSVN) has inaugurated the Isle to Isle: A Reflection of BIMP-EAGA Through Contemporary Art exhibition that features artworks by artists from the Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA). The exhibition opens to the public from today (July 18) until May 31, 2026 at Gallery 3A of the National Art Gallery om Kuala Lumpur. Officiated by MOTAC secretary-general Datuk Shaharuddin Abu Sohot, the exhibition is part of a cultural diplomacy initiative under the MOTAC Strategic Plan 2021-2025, particularly in strengthening strategic partnerships in the tourism and cultural sectors. It also aligns with the BIMP-EAGA Vision 2025 which is based on the principles of Resilience, Inclusivity, Sustainability and Economic Competitiveness (RISE) besides being in conjunction with Malaysia's ASEAN Chairmanship this year. Among others, this exhibition highlights visual interpretations by artists from all four countries by focusing on themes such as economic activity, social connections, environmental care, knowledge and the unique local wisdom that defines the eastern ASEAN region. Very broadly the BIMP-EAGA region covers the entire Brunei, the Kalimantan corridor in Indonesia from Pontianak to Balikpapan, the Sulawesi and Maluku regions, Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan as well as the southern Philippines, including the islands of Mindanao and Palawan. Artists and curators The Malaysian artists featured in this exhibition are Josrie Haral, Muslim Mattajim and Dr Mohamad Faizuan Mat. Brunei is represented by Umi Zaty Bazillah Zakaria and Asilah Maziyah Mohamad Yussof. From the Philippines, the participating artists are Chester M. Mato, Romy Jones Mata, Leonard B. Ansiong, Brendale Taj Hassan Tadeo and Alynnah Macla. Indonesia is represented by Audro Chrustofel Rompas along with two art collectives, Susur Galur from Pontianak featuring Muchamad Riduwan, Tito Prastio, and Elfrida Citra Rominggagas; and Muara Suara from Samarinda featuring Robby Ocktavian, Prashasti Wilujeng Putri and Rio Raharjo. Regional curators have also played a vital role in shaping the curatorial direction of the exhibition, including Zakaria Omar (Brunei Darussalam), I Wayan Seriyoga Parta and Gusti Hendra Pratama (Indonesia) as well as Al Nezzar B. Ali (the Philippines). All in all, the exhibition showcases a variety of artistic expressions, including mixed media, installations, paintings, photography, audio and videography.
