OPPO Reno 14 Pro price and key details tipped online ahead of India launch

The OPPO Reno 14 series is set to enter the Indian smartphone market following its global debut in Malaysia, scheduled for July 1. Flipkart recently teased the India launch, indicating that the devices may soon be available for Indian consumers. Last month, OPPO unveiled the Reno 14 and Reno 14 Pro models in China, revealing key details. However, the pricing of these devices in India has remained unclear until now. OPPO Reno 14 series is set to launch in India soon, with upgraded features and competitive pricing expected.(OPPO)
A well-known tipster, Abhishek Yadav, has shared that the OPPO Reno 14 Pro could be priced at around Rs. 54,999 based on the box details. It is also expected that the actual market price may be Rs. 49,999, in line with the pricing strategy of its predecessor, the OPPO Reno 13 Pro 5G. Additionally, OPPO may offer bank discounts and other promotional deals to make the Reno 14 Pro more affordable for buyers. The standard OPPO Reno 14 is expected to be priced below Rs. 40,000 in India.

While the official launch date for the Indian market is yet to be confirmed, industry watchers predict the release will take place in the second week of July. After the launch, both models will be available for purchase on Flipkart and through OPPO's official website. OPPO Reno 14 Pro: Key Features (China Variant)
The OPPO Reno 14 Pro features a 6.83-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ support. It also carries an IP68 and IP69 rating for dust and water resistance. The handset includes stereo speakers and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8450 chipset, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and a maximum of 512GB storage capacity. The device runs on Android 15 with OPPO's ColorOS 15 interface. It houses a 6,200 mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging support.

For photography, the Reno 14 Pro sports a triple rear camera setup that includes a 50MP primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 50MP telephoto lens offering 3.5x optical zoom and OIS, and a 50MP ultrawide camera with autofocus. On Monday, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg introduced Meta Superintelligence Labs (MSL) in an internal company memo. The group will oversee the company's advanced AI research and will be led by Scale AI CEO Alexandr Wang. Former GitHub CEO Nat Friedman will co-lead the unit. Govt Begins Testing New Mobile Alert System For Real-Time Disaster Warnings

New Delhi: The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on Monday announced that, in partnership with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), it is currently testing a new mobile alert system that will help send emergency warnings to people across India in real time. This new system, known as the Cell Broadcast (CB) system, is designed to send alerts instantly to mobile phones in areas affected by natural disasters or emergencies like tsunamis, earthquakes, lightning, gas leaks, or chemical hazards. Unlike regular SMS alerts, which are sent individually, Cell Broadcast messages are sent to all mobile phones in a particular area at once, making them faster and more effective in critical situations. The CB system is being developed and implemented by the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), a leading R&D organisation under the Department of Telecom. The system is currently undergoing nationwide testing, which will last for about two to four weeks. During this time, people may receive test messages on their mobile phones in English and Hindi. These messages will clearly state that they are part of a test and do not require any action from the public. Only mobile phones with Cell Broadcast test channels enabled will receive these test messages. Also, some people might get the same message more than once, as the system is being tested across the entire mobile network, including all base stations and towers. The NDMA already runs an SMS-based alert system called 'SACHET,' which has been operational in all 36 states and Union Territories. Built using the Common Alerting Protocol recommended by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), this system has already sent over 6,899 crore SMS alerts in more than 19 Indian languages during past disasters and extreme weather events. Once the testing of the Cell Broadcast system is complete, it will be used alongside SMS alerts to deliver warnings in real time and in multiple Indian languages to all mobile users -- even if their phones do not have the test channels activated. The government has asked the public to cooperate during the testing phase and to ignore any test messages received. These messages are only meant to check the system's performance and do not indicate any actual emergency.

It has not been long since Apple delayed the launch of the AI-supercharged Siri, and since then, there has been no word as to when we can expect the next-generation Siri upgrade, which was initially promised as a part of the Apple Intelligence suite. Having said that, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has reported that Apple could be considering taking help from ChatGPT maker OpenAI or Anthropic in order to power the next-generation Siri, and may even put aside its own in-house models to do so. The report adds that this could be a major change for Apple, as it currently only depends on Apple Foundation models, which have been homegrown, and most of the AI arsenal tools that exist in iOS as of now are powered by these. Further, it was also mentioned that this decision could be the result of the AI leadership change at Apple, when John Giannandrea was reportedly replaced by Mike Rockwell and Craig Federighi to take charge of Siri.
