Jagan synonymous with vendetta politics, says Janardhan Reddy
Referring to the demolition of Praja Vedika and Chandrababu Naidu's arrest, Reddy asked whether those weren't acts of political vengeance. 'Today, law is taking its course on the wrongdoings of the past. We exposed the liquor, land, and sand scams even before elections,' he said, accusing the YSRCP of looting thousands of crores, especially in the liquor scam.
The minister said nearly Rs 4,000 crore was siphoned off under the previous regime and hinted that the investigation would soon reveal where the money went and who benefited. 'If the probe proves guilt, no matter how powerful, punishment is inevitable,' he added.
Janardhan Reddy denied any personal vendetta in the ongoing probes, asserting that people voted the coalition to power for governance free of revenge politics. He criticised Jagan for predicting that the government would collapse in three years, questioning, 'Who is he to decide? People already dethroned him once. We have four more years to serve.'
Listing the coalition government's initiatives, he mentioned the Super six schemes, increased pensions, Deepam, Thalliki Vandanam, and upcoming free bus travel for women. He also took a dig at YSRCP's electoral downfall: 'If Jagan's governance was great, why did they fall from 151 to 11 seats?'
On the R&B front, the minister said the department was left in shambles by YSRCP, with 25,000 km of pothole-ridden roads, which the coalition repaired with Rs 1,200 crore. The government also cleared Rs 2,500 crore in dues left by the previous regime and is preparing DPRs for new roads.
Responding to ex-MLA R K Roja's comments, he said criticism of women is unwelcome but reminded that Roja herself had used abusive language against opposition families while in power. City MLA Arani Srinivasulu accompanied the Minister during the interaction.

Chennai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Tamil Nadu on Saturday evening for a two-day visit, marking a significant push for infrastructure and development initiatives across the state. After concluding his visit to the Maldives, Prime Minister Modi landed at the Tuticorin Airport at 7:50 p.m. in a special aircraft. He was received at the airport by Tamil Nadu Finance Minister Thangam Thennarasu, Governor R.N. Ravi, and Union Ministers L. Murugan and Ram Mohan Naidu, among others. Soon after his arrival, the Prime Minister inaugurated the newly developed terminal building of Tuticorin Airport, constructed at a cost of Rs 452 crore. Later, he laid the foundation stone and inaugurated multiple development projects across Tamil Nadu, with a cumulative value of Rs 4,900 crore. These projects span key sectors including energy, transport, and logistics. Among the major initiatives unveiled were, infrastructure projects worth Rs 550 crore in Tuticorin, power transmission works related to the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant, electrification of the Madurai–Bodinayakkanur railway line, power distribution systems for Kudankulam Units 3 and 4, doubling of the railway line between Aralvaimozhi and Nagercoil, doubling of the Nellai-Melapalayam railway section, estimated at Rs 283 crore, a four-lane road development project on the Sethiyathoppu-Cholapuram section, inauguration of the third northern cargo logistics terminal at V.O. Chidambaranar Port in Tuticorin, costing Rs 285 crore, doubling of the Nagercoil City-Junction-Kanyakumari railway line and railway projects worth Rs 1,030 crore. The visit highlights the Centre's focus on boosting connectivity, energy infrastructure, and economic development in southern Tamil Nadu. The Prime Minister is scheduled to participate in further events on Sunday, including the millennium celebration of the maritime expedition of the Chola emperor, Rajendra Chola I, at Gangaikonda Cholapuram.

He inaugurated the North Cargo Berth–III with a cargo handling capacity of 6.96 MMTPA at V O Chidambaranar Port established at a cost of Rs 285 crore. This endorsement comes amid ongoing speculation about leadership changes in Karnataka. Yathindra claimed that the development works undertaken by the Congress government in the Mysuru region during his father Siddaramaiah's tenure are comparable to, or possibly even surpass, those of Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar. 'Apart from the funds allocated during Siddaramaiah's tenure as Chief Minister, Mysuru has not received any significant funding. Our government under Siddaramaiah has carried out as much, if not more, development than what was done during Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar's time. Therefore, the opposition's claim that we have done nothing and are holding the 'Sadhana Samavesha' event here without reason is baseless and hollow," NDTV quoted Yathindra Siddaramaiah as saying to the reporters on Saturday. Yathindra's comments were in response to criticism from Karnataka BJP leaders, including state president BY Vijayendra, who alleged that the event was politically motivated rather than a genuine showcase of achievements. 'The Sadhana Samavesha is not to commemorate the chief minister's achievements or to highlight development in the Mysuru region. It is being used as a tool to threaten the high command," Vijayendra claimed, hinting at internal power tussles within the Congress. He had also questioned the event's venue, suggesting Mysuru didn't warrant such a high-profile gathering due to a perceived lack of progress in the region. At the event, the state government unveiled projects worth over Rs 2,500 crores for the Mysuru district. BJP leader R Ashoka criticised Yathindra's remarks, who said that, by making the comparison with his father, the Congress leader had insulted King Wodiyar's family. 'Contributions of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wodiyar to Old Mysore are immense. He built the KRS (Krishna Raja Sagara) reservoir and provided life-giving water, enabling people to prosper. He also built soap factories, universities, and upheld social justice," Ashoka said. 'Comparing someone who pawned gold jewellery to build a reservoir with those who looted 14 sites in MUDA (a reference to the alleged Mysore Urban Development Authority scam) is unacceptable.
