
Mahindra XUV 3XO RevX launched at Rs 8.94 lakh: Changes over standard model
has launched the new
Mahindra XUV 3XO ReVX
trim line in the Indian market priced from Rs 8.94 lakh (ex-showroom). The XUV 3XO RevX trims are offered exclusively with petrol engines and bring subtle exterior styling tweaks along with additional features compared to the standard variants they're derived from. Interested customers can book these new variants online or by visiting their nearest Mahindra dealer. Deliveries are expected to begin soon.
The ReVX trim line offers three variants: RevX M, RevX M(O), RevX A, and RevX A AT, priced at Rs 8.94 lakh, Rs 9.44 lakh, Rs 11.79 lakh, and Rs 12.99 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, respectively). The entry-level XUV 3XO RevX M, which is based on the MX2 variant, offers more features while undercutting the MX2 Pro by around Rs 60,000. Similarly, the RevX M(O) also sits below the MX2 Pro in terms of pricing.
The mid-spec RevX A is based on the mid-spec AX5 trim and costs about Rs 60,000 more than the AX5 and brings in additional features. Notably, the introduction of the RevX A makes Mahindra's 131hp engine significantly more accessible, reducing the entry point by roughly Rs 83,000. Before, this engine was only offered from the Rs 12.62 lakh AX5L trim upwards, (all prices ex-showroom).

Talking about the changes, the RevX sports a refreshed grille design which is now body coloured and blacked-out wheels (16-inch alloy wheels, while the RevX M gets steel wheels with black covers), accompanied by distinct RevX badges. Also, all RevX trims come standard with a dual-tone paint scheme and are offered in five colour options - Tango Red, Everest White, and Galaxy Grey feature a contrasting black roof, while Nebula Blue and Stealth Black are paired with a grey roof finish.
Moving inside, it features the same interior layout and all RevX variants come equipped with black leatherette upholstery as standard, lending the cabin a stylish dual-tone appearance. While the safety equipment remains the same as the variants they're based on, the RevX models offer a slightly richer feature set.

For instance, the RevX M, which is based on the MX2 (already offering a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, 4 speakers, steering-mounted controls, keyless entry, and follow-me-home headlights), adds height adjustment for the driver's seat, adjustable headrests for all three rear passengers, and a rear centre armrest with integrated cup holders. The RevX M(O) further enhances the experience with a single-pane sunroof. The RevX A mirrors the AX5 in both safety and convenience features but introduces a panoramic sunroof as an upgrade. Key equipment shared by the RevX A and AX5 includes a 10.25-inch digital driver display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a six-speaker sound system, dual-zone climate control, tyre pressure monitoring system, automatic headlights and wipers, a rear wiper with defogger, and a rearview camera.
Talking about the engine options, as mentioned previously it is offered only with petrol engines. The entry-level RevX M and M (O) gets a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol with 111hp of power paired to a manual gearbox only whereas the RevX gets a much powerful 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, turbo direct injection engine with 131 hp power and is offered with both MT and AT gearbox options.

Mahindra, Uno Minda explore domestic rare earth magnet manufacturing
Automaker Mahindra & Mahindra and component manufacturer Uno Minda are exploring local production of rare earth magnets to reduce dependence on China, according to company and government sources cited by Reuters. China, which accounts for about 90 per cent of global rare earth magnet output, imposed export restrictions in April. While some shipments to the United States and Europe have resumed, Indian firms are still awaiting approvals from Beijing. The disruption has prompted New Delhi to explore building stockpiles of magnets and offering incentives to support domestic production of these components, which are essential for electric vehicles and electronics. "Some companies have shown interest in investing or setting up rare earth magnet production, including Mahindra," said a senior government official. "It will take a year or two to have our own production... But we have to find ways to be independent," the official added. Meetings held, decisions pending During a meeting in June with the Ministry of Heavy Industries, Mahindra said it was open to partnering with another firm for magnet production or entering into a long-term supply contract with a local producer, according to one source. Mahindra, which recently introduced two electric SUVs, has its own demand for magnets and believes local production would not require significant investment. Auto component maker Sona Comstar , which supplies gears and motors to automakers including Ford and Stellantis, was the first Indian firm to indicate interest in domestic magnet production. Uno Minda also expressed interest in manufacturing magnets at the same meeting, said two sources. Its customer, Maruti Suzuki, has already warned of production delays due to the disruption in magnet supply from China. Mahindra declined to comment. Uno Minda and the Ministry of Heavy Industries did not respond to queries. A final decision by Mahindra and Uno Minda on potential investment will depend on government incentives and the availability of raw materials, sources said. Mining seen as bottleneck India holds the world's fifth-largest reserves of rare earth minerals, but mining them remains a challenge. The government controls rare earth mining through Indian Rare Earths Limited (IREL), which produced around 2,900 tonnes of rare earth ores in 2024. Most of this is used by defence and atomic energy units, with some exported to Japan. Following the export disruption from China, IREL plans to halt exports and expand mining and processing within the country. JSW Steel has shown interest in mining rare earths in India, subject to government approval. However, sources noted that mining, unlike magnet production, could take several years to commence. JSW declined to comment. India is also exploring overseas sources of raw materials. In December, IREL sent a team to Myanmar to assess local resources, and the government is working with five Central Asian nations to explore joint mining projects for critical minerals.
