Argos knocks 50% off four-seater garden patio set with parasol

Daily Mirror18-06-2025

The rattan-effect set includes a glass table, four rope-effect armchairs and a parasol to shield shoppers from the sun
The UK is set for a heatwave this week, with some parts of the country potentially sizzling in temperatures of up to 33C by the weekend. Ahead of summer's anticipated return, Argos has slashed 50% off a four-seater garden set.
The Habitat Pesaro 4-seater Patio Set has been marked down to £250, from its original price of £500. The patio set comprises four chairs, a small table and a parasol.
The four chairs are woven, have a rattan-effect design, and are also cushioned. The stylish set is perfect for shoppers revamping their outdoor spaces. It isn't too large, so it will be ideal for small or medium-sized gardens.
The set has an overall customer satisfaction rating of 4.5 out of 5 on the Argos website. A shopper said: "I have had this set for two weeks and it has not disappointed me. Lovely comfortable chairs. Looks smart. I have given it four stars as the parasol is slightly small, but will be ok for us."
Another picked it up on sale, adding: "Bought this a couple of weeks ago, after watching it for a year, finally caught in a sale. Love it."

An additional customer had issues assembling it and also had a gripe with the parasol, writing: "Set is very nice, packaged very well, quite time-consuming to put together, including unwrapping. No issues with holes or fixings. Umbrella is pointless and looks comically small. Delivery team lovely."
Alternatively, for homeowners conscious of limited space, this rattan 2-in-1 piece can be used as a daybed for snoozing and as a lounger for sunbathing. The cream two-seater is priced at £118 at Yimbly, an online marketplace owned by The Mirror's parent company, Reach Plc.
What's more, shipping on a customer's first order is free. Elsewhere, Dunelm is selling a Santorini four-seater Conversation Set for £153.30, down from £219. The metal dining set doesn't require assembly and is offered in beige or green colours.
Back to the Argos Habitat Pesaro 4-seater Patio Set, another buyer offered assembly tips: "I have enjoyed sitting out in the lovely weather and using the table and chair set. Very stylish and comfy. Would recommend. Tip for assembly - locate and fasten the nuts and bolts, but only loosely- this will make them easier to locate, then go back once this has been done and fully tighten them.
"Glad I got this set half price in the sale, as I wouldn't have been able to afford it full price."

Elsewhere, Argos is selling a £45 Silentnight Restore Cooling Blanket. The grey throw is made from a cool-sensation fabric - for instant cooling comfort - and a breathable jersey cotton. It measures 152 x 178cm. Reviewing Everlasting's Comfort Cooling Blanket, one shopper said: "I bought this blanket for my partner after I bought one for myself last summer. They are so effective. We love them, so I would recommend them to anyone wanting a cooler, more refreshing sleep during the heat!" A second buyer had mixed feelings towards their purchase, writing: "It is soft and lightweight. I'm a restless sleeper and it did not stay on me. I put it under me to try. Either way, at first, it is cool. "Once my body is on it or under it, after 10-15 minutes, it retains my body heat if I don't move. Moving it collects the air, so to speak, and cools down, as long as my body isn't touching it. It does not help with hot flashes with me." Another wrote: "This is the second blanket I've purchased, so we can have one in the kids too. It's lightweight and very soft. I like to cover myself with it when I'm having a migraine." Article continues below An additional customer concludes: "I would really like to give this an honest review, but my kids have stolen it and I can't get it back from them. They come in from school on a hot day and just wrap up in it for 10 minutes, which cools them down a treat. "They've been sleeping absolutely fine in them and said they actually managed to sleep pretty quickly at night instead of the usual fidgeting due to how cool the blanket feels. It's nice and silky, performs well, but a little expensive, but as long as it lasts all summer, then it's worth the money."

However, if this isn't the lounger for everyone there are many other options such as the Habitat Rome Metal Sun Lounger in Beige for £150 from Argos which has a steel frame, five reclining positions, multi-position recliner and reclines to a flat position. Another option is the Rowly Sun Lounger and Side Table in Grey for £99.99 from The Range which is crafted from powder-coated steel, has a stylish, toughened glass tabletop and an adjustable backrest. 'This has a very strong frame compared to others I have seen. Very relaxing.' Not everyone enjoyed this particular lounger however and one person stated: 'The actual sun bed is comfortable but the quality of the topper is below the standard advertised. It's much thinner and flimsy, less mattress more mattress protector.' Another said: 'The actual padded mattress was of good quality but very poorly padded... very thin when used.'

Louis Tomlinson's bizarre Glastonbury camping plans complete with 'booze tent'

One Direction star Louis Tomlinson has been spotted at Glastonbury every year for the past decade. Louis Tomlinson's odd camping set-up for Glastonbury comes complete with a tent solely for booze. The former One Direction star, 33, is camping with a group of mates this weekend instead of staying at a posh hotel. The singer brought his own TV to the festival to watch England play an International match last year, and he now has allocated a tent just for drinks. A source told The Mirror: 'Louis is determined to make it a weekend to remember and has planned everything with military like precision - including making sure enough booze is available. He has his own tent - and one just for the drinks.' ‌ Meanwhile girlfriend Zara McDermott, 28, is joining Louis at the famed festival, but is thought to be staying off site and not camping with Louis. 'Everyone is saying it's a nice break for him and Zara but it's a great way also for Zara to meet his mates. It will definitely be a boozy one and not a particularly romantic one,' the source added. ‌ The couple were rumoured to have got together earlier this year as they were photographed on a cosy date in Suffolk in March, just a few weeks after Zara's split from her long-term boyfriend Sam Thompson. Louis and Zara then enjoyed a cosy trip together in Los Angeles, with Zara finally unveiling her romance on Instagram as the pair enjoyed a brunch date together. Since then, it appears their romance has continued to blossom as Zara was recently seen supporting Louis in Costa Rica. But there may be some tension between Sam and Louis, as the pair had an awkward encounter at Soccer Aid earlier this month. Despite their seemingly amicable encounter before the match, Sam appeared less than thrilled during an interview. Fans have been eager to observe how they would react to one another since the news of Zara and Louis' romance emerged. ‌ As they mingled, Sam's behaviour hinted at underlying tension between the love rivals. During an interview with the Daily Mail, cameras captured Louis continuing with the training session over Sam's shoulder, prompting Sam to remark: "You're going over my shoulder. I'm over here." ‌ Appearing to sound slightly irritated, Sam continued: "Stop going over there, what are you doing. I'm over here. It's fine, okay, cool, well you're just going to get my voice and the lads training." A body language expert observed that the pair's efforts to avoid eye contact only drew more attention to the situation. Judi James told Mail Online that Sam's actions made him appear as though he was trying to be seen as "anything but a loser in love" while playing alongside his ex's new partner.
