Natalie Portman's makeup artist takes anti-ageing gadget 'on every job'
A celebrity makeup artist (MUA) who travels the globe painting famous faces such as Natalie Portman and Keira Knightley says there's one product she takes 'on every job'. The LYMA Laser effectively treats signs of ageing, such as wrinkles, pigmentation, sagging, and a lacklustre complexion.
The actors' MUA, Romy Soleimani, says: "I take it on every single job with me because it's so easy to travel with." The clinical-grade cold laser device is also loved by other A-listers, including the likes of Sienna Miller, Kate Beckinsale, Cynthia Erivo and Dita Von Teese.
LYMA Laser's lens has been specifically designed for optimal use on the face, neck and targeted areas of concern, such as knees. It is painless to use, and costs £1,999.
The laser promises to speed up the rejuvenation process by 'switching back on' the cells responsible for collagen and elastin synthesis, and increasing energy reserves devoted to detoxification and hydration. The supercharged skin cells are then able to regenerate at a much faster rate resulting in firmer, brighter, younger-looking skin.
LYMA also sells a Pro version retailing at £4,995. There are alternatives on the market, for instance, this LED Face Mask Series 2 from CurrentBody i s a market leader at £399.
The LED face mask uses red light therapy to boost collagen production for younger-looking skin. It promises to reduce wrinkles by 30% and improve plumpness by 57%.
Similarly, BeautyPro offers portable-friendly beauty devices, including its LED Wand Device (£79). The lightweight, LED light device is designed to visibly smooth and firm the look of skin by emitting red light therapy.
Returning to LYMA's Laser, brand founder Lucy Goff commented: 'The original version of the LYMA Laser's technology was a gigantic floor-standing machine. Over 120 iterations, we got it down to a portable, painless - and yet incredibly powerful - little device. It's light, and easy to use when at home or on the move, because travel is integral to so many lives.
"That's why it's also safe for hand luggage. It truly is the only device you need, and it fits perfectly into whatever routine you already have, whether at home on the sofa or while travelling.'
LYMA's Laser has 150 customer reviews. One shopper rated it five stars, saying: "Though I haven't finished the full three months, I am seeing positive results on my 71-year-old skin. Nice smooth texture, lessening of fine lines, and maybe some reductions in my deep wrinkles. I have trouble doing it every day, but I do it 5-6 times a week."
They added: "Must say, I do find the treatment very relaxing, and it is something I look forward to doing. I am planning to splurge on the Pro version - cutting the treatment time will help me be more consistent. Thanks for a great product and very responsive customer service."
A second wasn't as pleased with the results, writing: "I'm having mixed feelings about this product I do like the laser but for what my reason for it I not sure if it is helping [and] it is a commitment."
Another said: "I love it. I am in control of my skin." A fourth commented: "We dermatologists are not big fans of at-home devices. In general we think that clinic based treatments will give faster and dramatic outcomes. I bought this device anyway to treat myself for Christmas. I already had good skin but I was starting to notice sagging skin and signs of ageing.
"After two months o fuse (which could have been more consistent but Christmas and holidays happened) I am surprised by the results... my jawline is prominent, skin is more even-toned, overall I feel more confident (certain changes even I can't pinpoint). I am so pleased I took the risk and bought it. Definitely be recommending to my right set of patients."

I Thought This Chic Viral Skirt Was Designer – But It's Under £60
@@taffymsipa and @morganleighwillett As a fashion writer with an undying love for swishy silhouettes, my ideal summer skirt checklist was pretty straightforward: it needed to be made from a lightweight fabric to catch the breeze with a billowing silhouette for stifling tube journeys, and just the right dose of romantic charm. But now that August has arrived (and heatwaves have gotten more sporadic), my priorities have shifted. Now, I'm officially looking for a transitional hero – something that'll carry me from late summer into the early months of autumn with ease. Happily, I think I've just found one that ticks every box, and more at Free People. Free People may not have been my first port of call for mid-season pieces, after all, the brand typically leans into boho staples best suited to the height of summer. However, I was pleasantly surprised by its offering of transitional pieces designed to carry you from June through to October. Case in point, the Lowen Midi Skirt – a billowing A-line midi that's as versatile as it is comfortable thanks to its elasticated waistband, soft poplin construction. Free People sells the skirt in a wide array of 15 shades, yes really, including crisp neutrals such as black, white and brown alongside pastels and even a bright red that taps into summer's tomato girl trend. ©Instagram/@chelsea_zeferina ©@chelsea_zeferina Styling this skirt is incredibly easy as well. Pair it with white T-shirts or tank tops for a relaxed off-duty formula that will see you through the summer. For dressier occasions, opt for boho chic lace blouses paired with wedge heels or cowboy boots to channel Sienna Miller's signature style. As the late-summer chill sets in, layer with fine-knit button-up cardigans in muted greys for an academic twist, or throw on a jacket. Uniqlo's latest zip-up jacket has become a firm favourite among style insiders, and we at Grazia can't stop singing its praises. The skirt's calf-skimming length also lends itself well to a variety of footwear options. If you have a last-minute trip to the Med lined up, opt for some sandals (we're fans of this high street pair that looks like the Hermes Oran sandals). Or, if you have no idea what to wear when it's rainy and hot, style the skirt with a pair of biker boots for that effortless cool-girl charm. Come rain or shine, this skirt will see you through the impending transitional period with practicality and ease. 1. Lowen Midi Skirt, Ivory The crisp white version of the Lowen midi skirt is a fashion insider favorite. Effortlessly chic, it channels classic Riviera style, but add a triangle scarf tied at the waist, and it takes on a subtly bohemian twist. 2. Lowen Midi Skirt, Pink 3. Lowen Midi Skirt, Tomato Didn't you know? Tomato red is the embodiment of summer, but I think this skirt will suit September, too. Style this with white baby tees to make the bold colour pop effortlessly. 4. Lowen Midi Skirt, Cardamom Seed This sand-toned hue is perfect for a sun-drenched city break. Make sure to in a pair of suede sandals with this one. 5. Lowen Midi Skirt, Yellow The butter yellow trend continues to sky rocket, so it's no surprise that Free People designed the Lowen skirt in a similar colour. Once the temperature shifts, pair with a grey button up cardigan. 6. Lowen Midi Skirt, Purple For a feminine touch, consider the powder puff purple iteration of the Lowen – perfect for days out and about with trainers or nights out with heeled flip-flops. 7. Lowen Midi Skirt - Black If your style leans more minimalist, opt for the black version. Sleek and endlessly chic, it'll pair well with anything you already have in your wardrobe, from longline waistcoats to pretty lace blouses. Wear tights once the pre-autumn chill sets in. Jude Law, 52, cuts a trendy figure in a beige knitted cardigan and white linen trousers as he steps out to meet pals
Jude Law looked every inch the Hollywood hunk in white linen as he strolled through the streets of London to meet pals on Wednesday. The English actor, 52, opted for a beige knitted cardigan layered over a low-scoop white vest top, which exposed some of his chest hair. Cutting a trendy figure, Jude paired it with a pair of airy white linen trousers and blue suede shoes. Carrying his iPad under his arm, he accessorised with a stylish pair of black-tinted sunglasses. Jude appeared in top spirits as he finished a meeting in the city before heading to his next destination. His outing comes just the day after his ex Sienna Miller, headed to the Shane Cooper Clinic in London for a series of treatments. The actress, 42, who dated Jude for five years, underwent a combination of advanced technologies to maintain her glowing complexion. Shane posted a stunning snap of Sienna showing off her dewy skin after her treatment. Dressed in a grey top, the beauty beamed at the camera as her make-up-free skin took centre stage. Alongside the post, Shane penned: 'Sienna has been a long-time client for many years and it's always such a pleasure catching up. 'We've maintained her skin with a bespoke combination of advanced technologies and my personal expertise. She also uses products from my @shanecooperskincare range at home to keep that signature glow between treatments. Just adore her.' It comes after Jude revealed he's 'moved on' from the time in his life when he was engaged to Sienna. The actor told VARIETY 'that time in his life is now over,' after his relationship was the centre of huge public attention. Jude and Sienna split in 2006 after his affair with his children's nanny Daisy Wright came to public knowledge in 2005, and the actress said in 2020 that she found the scandal 'really hard'. Shane posted a stunning snap of Sienna showing off her dewy skin after her treatment Speaking about the time he and Sienna were engaged, Jude said: 'That time is now over, and I've moved on from it. And so has, fortunately, the attention of the photographers and the prying eyes on me. 'But I've had to learn to live in a certain way that keeps them at bay. And I have to handle my kids' and my partner's privacy in the same way.' Sienna and Jude first met on the set of their film Alfie, and the pair got engaged on Christmas Day in 2004 after nearly a year of dating. She broke off the engagement following news of his affair, with the pair separating in November 2006 after failing to salvage their relationship. They reconnected in late 2009 when both starred on Broadway, with Sienna even spending Christmas with Jude and three of his children in Barbados, but they broke up once again in February 2011. Before meeting Sienna, Jude was married to Sadie Frost -with whom he shares three of his children son Rafferty, 28, Iris, 24, and Rudy, 22 - but they got a divorce in 2003, after six years of marriage. Jude is now married to psychologist Phillipa Coan, who he was first spotted with at the Hay literary festival in 2015. The couple got married at Old Marylebone Town Hall in London in 2019, before partying in Mayfair – three months after the actor announced their engagement. They have two children together. The actor also has a daughter Sophia, 15, with model Samantha Burke and Ada, nine, with musician Catherine Harding.
