Steel Exchange India Limited (SEIL) has received a significant boost after the Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board (APMB) approved the use of its flagship product, SIMHADRI TMT steel rebars, in two major Greenfield port development projects in the state.
According to the company's filing with the stock exchanges, APMB has granted approval for the use of SIMHADRI TMT in the construction of the Greenfield Port at Machilipatnam in Krishna District, a project currently being executed by Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited.
In addition, the product has also been approved for use in the construction of the Greenfield Port at Mulapeta in Srikakulam District. This second project is being handled by Vishwa Samudra Ports (JV).
These approvals reflect growing recognition of SEIL's product quality and technical standards, particularly in critical infrastructure developments. As the ports sector continues to expand under India's broader infrastructure drive, such endorsements are likely to enhance SEIL's visibility and future business opportunities.

Asian Stock Markets Update: Taiwan up 0.74%, Hang Seng down 1.18%, Shanghai down 0.13%, Nikkei down 0.08%

By Aditya Bhagchandani Published on July 3, 2025, 08:47 IST Asian markets traded mixed in early hours on Thursday, July 3, with cautious optimism seen in select indices. Investors continued to monitor U.S. economic signals and upcoming trade policy deadlines. Early Gift Nifty indications suggested a flat to mildly positive start for the Indian market, with the index pointing about 29 points higher at 8:25 AM. This followed a slightly down finish in the previous session as investors weighed weak Chinese services data and U.S. policy signals. Regionally, Shenzhen rose 0.36%, Kospi gained 0.82%, and Taiwan advanced 0.74%, reflecting modest gains. Meanwhile, Nikkei edged down 0.08%, Hang Seng slipped 1.18%, and Shanghai was down 0.13%, highlighting the uneven sentiment. Markets are bracing for the crucial U.S. Non-Farm Payrolls data due later today, which could influence Federal Reserve policy expectations. The July 9 deadline for potential U.S. tariffs also looms over global trade outlook. After Wednesday's muted session, Indian equities are expected to open cautiously optimistic today, tracking global cues and corporate updates like Nykaa's share sale and solid Q1 earnings projections. Jefferies sees upside in GMR Airports as TDSAT ruling on HRAB boosts prospects

By Aditya Bhagchandani Published on July 3, 2025, 08:32 IST Jefferies has reiterated a buy rating on GMR Airports with a target price of ₹100, citing potential upside from a favorable ruling on the Highly Regulated Asset Base (HRAB) for Delhi International Airport (DIAL). The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) recently quashed the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority's (AERA) earlier computation of HRAB for DIAL and directed a fresh calculation. The HRAB, a notional asset base, is critical in determining aero tariffs for airports. Jefferies noted that TDSAT found AERA's methodology for calculating HRAB to be incorrect, and if the final ruling favors DIAL, it could allow the airport operator to recover significant under-recoveries from the past. This would meaningfully enhance DIAL's tariff recovery and profitability going forward. The brokerage highlighted that other debated under-recoveries are also under review, which could further add to the upside potential in DIAL's earnings if resolved favorably. Meanwhile, the shares of GMR Airports continue to trade actively as investors await clarity on the final HRAB calculation and its impact on future profitability. Stock Market cues for 3rd July: GIFT Nifty flat, US markets hit record close, Microsoft layoffs continue

By Aditya Bhagchandani Published on July 3, 2025, 08:39 IST Markets look set for a muted start on Thursday, with GIFT Nifty trading flat and signaling little momentum for Indian equities. US futures edged slightly higher overnight as optimism grew after the US and Vietnam struck a trade deal. Wall Street ended largely higher, with the S&P 500 posting a record close despite lingering concerns over tariffs and the job market. President Donald Trump announced that the US had reached a trade agreement with Vietnam but would still impose a 20% tariff on its imports, adding to global trade tensions. The US job market showed fresh signs of stress. According to ADP, the private sector lost 33,000 jobs in June, far below expectations of a 100,000 increase. Layoffs continued across sectors, and hiring momentum slowed. Microsoft announced plans to cut another 9,000 jobs in a second wave of major layoffs, adding to concerns over the labor market's resilience. Overall, global cues remain mixed as markets weigh strong US stock performance against soft employment data and tariff risks.
