NFL Top 100 list: Tracking players for 2025 rankings
There is undoubtedly a financial upside to claiming that spot, but there is also a status and respect that comes with the territory. Teddy Swims checked in at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 list for 2024 with his single "Lose Control," and the top-grossing film at the box office was "Inside Out 2," but what about the NFL's best player?
While the music and movie charts look at the past, the NFL is looking to the future. It's not a year-end celebration, but rather a hierarchy heading into the new season.
As the clock ticks towards kickoff of the regular season in Philadelphia on Sept. 4, the league will slowly reveal the NFL Top 100 players list.
This is no popularity contest, however. The players make their voices heard, voting on who they believe to be the best the league has to offer.
It will spark debates and some outrage. Some will be snubbed, others will rank higher than you think, but that's the beauty of it. The list will generate interest and spark discussion as we prepare for a new season.
Here's a look at the NFL's Top 100 players list for 2025, as voted on by the players.

When will the NFL Top 100 player list be revealed?
The NFL will begin revealing the list on Monday, June 30 and will conclude on Sunday, Sept. 1.
Unlike in previous years, the reveal will be exclusively on X, formerly known as Twitter, and NFL+. Episodes will continue to be produced by NFL Films and premiere on weekdays at 10 a.m. ET and 11 a.m. ET.
Each weekday, two new player reveals will be featured, resulting in 10 new players being added to the list each week. The final 10 players will be announced on Sunday, Sept. 1 at 8 p.m. ET on NFL Network.

In a perfect piece of post-minicamp and pre-training camp content, ESPN's Ben Solak set out to identify the "best NFL draft pick" at every draft slot between No. 1 and No. 262 overall. It was a tough exercise, to be sure, and one that will stir up plenty of debate. How many Green Bay Packers were picked? Probably more than you'll expect, but the big snub is most likely the thing you'll remember from Solak's list. Here are some Packers-related notes from the post: -- Solak picked safety Ed Reed over Aaron Rodgers at No. 24. Interesting choice. Reed might have a case for being the best safety in NFL history, but Rodgers is -- at the very least -- a top-10 NFL quarterback with a Super Bowl title and four MVPs. Tough to argue that this pick should be anyone but Rodgers, a future Hall of Famer and a defining player at the game's toughest and most important position. -- Brett Favre was the easy pick at No. 33. -- At No. 48 overall, LeRoy Butler got the nod over other Hall of Famers Howie Long and Dwight Stevenson. Helping invent the "Lambeau Leap" helped Butler make the list. -- Hall of Fame cornerback Mel Blount was the pick over Davante Adams at No. 53. No arguments here, but Adams might have a better case once his decorated career is over. -- Solak picked receiver Keenan Allen over Ahman Green at No. 76. Green wasn't a draft pick of the Packers, but he ended up as the leading rusher in franchise history. Considering he was a truly elite player during his prime (check his numbers between 2000-2003), Green probably should have been the pick. -- At No. 87, Patriots defensive tackle Tim Goad was the pick over cornerback Mike McKenzie, who intercepted 15 passes over six seasons in Green Bay and finished his career with 28 picks in 11 seasons. -- At No. 90, quarterback Matt Schaub was the pick over receiver Antonio Freeman, one of the most productive pass-catchers in Packers history. -- Packers legend Jimmy Graham was the pick at No. 95. -- Guard Jahri Evans, who played one season in Green Bay, was the easy pick at No. 108. One pick later, left tackle David Bakhtiari was the easy pick at No. 109. Steelers sign general manager Omar Khan to three-year extension after productive offseason
Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Omar Khan added four players with a combined 20 Pro Bowl appearances to the team's roster this offseason. He's being rewarded for that with a three-year contract extension, the team announced Thursday. Financial terms of the deal, which will keep Khan with the team through the 2028 NFL season, were not announced. In a statement, Khan expressed optimism about the team's outlook in 2025 and beyond. "I believe we are building a championship roster and look forward to the 2025 season and beyond as our goals continue to be to bring another Super Bowl to the City of Pittsburgh and our great fans." Advertisement Khan is a long-time member of the Steelers' organization, and is entering his 25th season with the franchise. He was promoted to the team's general manager 2022. New QB ranking further validates Lamar Jackson's elite status
New ranking puts Lamar Jackson among the NFL's top three quarterbacks. It's often said that this is a quarterback's league, and there's a reason for that. The impressive statistics these individuals achieve each year underscore their pivotal role in the game's evolution. Lamar Jackson, in particular, is celebrated as one of the most exciting players in football. The Baltimore Ravens star has already won two AP MVP trophies, showcasing his remarkable talent and impact on the field. Last season, Jackson took his already elite play to another level, leading all NFL quarterbacks in passer rating (119.6) and QBR (77.3). He threw for 4,172 yards while tossing 41 touchdowns vs. only four interceptions. He picked up 915 additional yards and another four touchdowns with his legs. Lamar entered the 2024 NFL season already having earned two First-Team All-Pro nods and three Pro Bowl mentions. He added one more of each for his trouble, so the question we ask every year is simple. How does he rank vs. his peers playing the same position? We're glad you asked. One of the more well-known NFL platforms recently tried to answer that question. Lamar Jackson lands third on FOX Sports' ranking of the top ten NFL quarterbacks As we turn the page from June to July, FOX Sports ranked the top ten NFL quarterbacks. Lamar Jackson landed third, but a misprint may have stated what most are already thinking. FOX mistakenly calls him "the defending NFL MVP", which he isn't, unless we're mentioning the trophy he won as the Pro Football Writers Association's Most Valuable Player, but FOX's statement says a lot. No disrespect to last year's winner, Josh Allen, but doesn't it seem like Jackson should have won the trophy? The only person we may have understood being ranked on his level would have been Saquon Barkley, but if last season didn't teach us anything else, it taught us this. Let's call it what it is. The NFL's MVP trophy is typically awarded to a quarterback. There aren't many in the game today who play the game at an equally elite level as 'Action' Jackson. Here's FOX's theory from their ranking. "Jackson, the defending NFL MVP, might be the most versatile quarterback on this list. What he lacks in accuracy, he makes up for in touchdown efficiency and rushing ability. He's led the NFL in touchdown percentage twice, posting an impressive 8.6% mark last season as he threw for a career-high 41 touchdowns. He's also led all quarterbacks in rushing yards the past two seasons and surpassed the 1,000-yard mark in 2019 and 2020. His one knock is that the Ravens have yet to appear in a Super Bowl with him as the starter." Jackson lands behind Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes. The top ten is rounded out by Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts, Jared Goff, Baker Mayfield, Justin Herbert, Jayden Daniels, and Dak Prescott. That's a nice list. Even though these types of discussions are always subjective, the only players at the QB position that we would tolerate being listed ahead of Lamar in terms of skill set are Allen and Mahomes, if we're being honest. That said, although it seems more feasible to place Allen behind Mahomes and Jackson, this list won't receive a ton of complaints on this platform, except to note that placing Dak Prescott in the top ten is worthy of discussion.
