Prestatyn Running Club members in peak form at weekend

Prestatyn Running Club's female road runner of the year Ally Reid was in Peak form off-road at the weekend. She and the club's cross-country runner of the year Sue Hughes joined a big field for the Bakewell 10-mile trail race, the shortest event in a busy day's programme which included 20k, 50k and 100k events in the Peak District. Though the course was extremely picturesque it was, unsurprisingly, very hilly. Ally was the second lady finisher overall, clocking 1-51.48, and as she was carrying an injury Sue was also very happy with her time of 2-07. A strong wind buffeted competitors in the Nova Parkrun, which probably accounted for the fact that there were no pbs. Results: 2 Dafydd Montgomery 19.17, 10 Dave Ellis 21.04, 18 Lisa Lines 22.23, 19 Jamie Betts 22.30, 31 Alex Ryder 24.00, 32 Darrell Jones 24.05, 35 Dean Longley 24.13, 41 Marc Jones 24.30, 46 Paul Sanders 24.40, 52 Philip Howarth 25.09, 55 Lewis Pierce 25.25, 93 Dan Williams 28.46, 99 Andy Scott 29.06, 113 Mike Davis 30.34. Greenfield Valley: 51 Cathy Wood 29.36. Chester: 83 Steve Weedman 26.13m 245 Debbie Weedman 33.02. Erddig: 247 Steve Hatfield 42.43. Ruthin: 5 David Hudd 20.39. Largs Bay (Adelaide): 40 Martin Cortvriend 23.39. The previous week recent recruit Lucy Woodfine was the only club member to record a pb in the Nova run, which was again affected by wind. Placings: 3 Dafydd Montgomery 19.40, 7 Dave Ellis 20.10, 11 Steve Stocker 21.06, 12 Matty Smith 21.21, 20 Swan Longley 22.09, 22 Jamie Betts 22.20, 23 Eve Manifold 22.40, 24 Alex Ryder 22.43, 30 Lisa Lines 22.58, 34 Judah Eastwell 23.03, 38 Tom Coen 23.17, 53 Paul Sanders 24.19, 58 Lily Woodfine 24.42 (pb), 65 Steve Weedman 25.10, 67 Will Lines 25.19, 68 Neil Davidson 25.26, 71 Meg Lewis 25.41. Ruthin 20 Martin Cortvriend 25.53. The club's annual social weekend in Aberdaron was once again a great success, and although injuries prevented some of those who attended from running others were able to enjoy the scenic coastal path for the first time.
