Fifth batch of 7,208 Amarnath pilgrims departs from Jammu
The journey, however, was marred by a minor mishap when a bus from Madhya Pradesh, part of the yatra convoy, suffered a brake failure and collided with four other vehicles near Chanderkote in Ramban, leaving 36 pilgrims with non-serious injuries.
The pilgrims left in a convoy of 310 vehicles under tight security, heading toward the holy cave shrine in the South Kashmir Himalayas via the Baltal and Pahalgam routes. Officials said 3,199 pilgrims (2,236 men, 851 women, 18 children, 60 sadhus, and 34 sadhvis) took the Baltal route, while 4,009 (3,022 men, 736 women, 12 children, 217 sadhus, and 22 sadhvis) opted for Pahalgam.
This fifth batch follows the earlier departures of 3,500 (July 2), 5,246 (July 3), 6,411 (July 4), and 6,979 (July 5) pilgrims from the Jammu base camp.

Amarnath Yatra: Batch of 2,896 pilgrims leaves from Jammu base camp
Jammu, July 25 (UNI) A fresh batch of 2,896 pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Yatra chanting 'Bam Bam Bhole' this morning left for the holy cave shrine in South Kashmir Himalayas from Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar base camp, government sources said. 'A fresh batch of 2,896 pilgrims this morning left for Shri Amarnath Yatra cave shrine in Kashmir from Jammu base camp amid tight security arrangements,' they added. They said that 790 pilgrims left for Pahalgam and 2,106 for Baltal in a fleet of 117 vehicles comprising light motor vehicles and heavy vehicles. The 38-day annual pilgrimage started from both the routes from here on July 2. The yatra will end on August 9 on Rakshabandhan. More than three lakh pilgrims have so far visited the shrine. 6,365 pilgrims leave Jammu for Amarnath yatra
Jammu, July 19 (UNI) A fresh batch of over 6,000 pilgrims of the Shri Amarnath Yatra, chanting 'Bam Bam Bhole', set out for the holy cave shrine in the South Kashmir Himalayas from the Yatri Niwas base camp today at Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. 'A fresh batch of 6,365 pilgrims left this morning for the Shri Amarnath cave shrine in Kashmir from the Jammu base camp amid tight security arrangements,' officials said. Of them, 2,851 pilgrims were headed for Pahalgam and 3,514 for Baltal, travelling in a convoy of 211 vehicles, including both Light and Heavy Motor Vehicles. The 38-day annual pilgrimage began simultaneously from both routes following the flag-off of the first batch by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on July 2. The yatra is scheduled to conclude on August 9. So far, more than 2 lakh pilgrims have paid obeisance at the shrine. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant-Governor had on June 17 passed orders to declare the twin routes for the Amarnath Yatra as 'no-flying zones' between July 1 and August 10. An official spokesperson said the J&K Home Department, on the orders of the L-G, issued 'strict security directives regarding aerial activity during the upcoming Amarnath Yatra'. Officials said the measure was taken 'to ensure strengthened security during the yatra'. Any kind of aviation platforms and devices, including UAVs, drones, and balloons, would be prohibited on both the Pahalgam axis (in south Kashmir) and Baltal axis (in central Kashmir). UNI VBH AAB

Amarnath yatra resumes: Fresh batch of 7,908 pilgrims leave Jammu Base camp
Jammu, July17 (UNI): After a one-day suspension of the Shri Amarnath Yatra from the Jammu base camp, a fresh batch of 7,908 pilgrims chanting 'Bam Bam Bhole' left today morning for the holy cave shrine in the South Kashmir Himalayas from the Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar base camp. No batch was allowed to proceed from Jammu and Pahalgam-Chandanwari base camp yesterday due to landslides and heavy rains along the Baltal track. However, officials said the pilgrims departed today from the base camp in a fleet of 261 vehicles. 'A fresh batch of 7,908 pilgrims left for the Shri Amarnath cave shrine in Kashmir from the Jammu base camp amid tight security arrangements,' they added. They further stated that 2,879 pilgrims left for Pahalgam and 5,029 for Baltal in a convoy of 261 vehicles, comprising both Light Motor Vehicles and Heavy Motor Vehicles. The 38-day annual pilgrimage started from both the routes with flagging off of the first batch from here by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on July 2. The yatra will end on August 9.
