No. 1 Texas Longhorns baseball sweeps Texas A&M Aggies in rivalry series
After taking Game 1 of the series on Friday 2-1 and Game 2 on Saturday 3-2, it made since Sunday's contest would be another close game. That's just what fans got, as Texas held on in yet another nail-biter, 6-5.
After A&M jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first, the Longhorns got a big double from Adrian Rodriquez to score Tommy Farmer IV. Rodriguez would later score on an Ethan Mendoza sacrifice fly to tie up the game 2-2.
The game went back and forth and entered the 8th inning tied 5-5. That's when Rodriquez mashed the biggest hit of the night, a home run to left field for the go ahead run.
The top of the ninth got a little hairy after the Aggies put two men on base. But Schlossnagle brought in Max Grubbs for the third game in a row. Grubs got Aggies shortstop Kaeden Kent to ground into a game-ending double play.
Of course, Texas coach Jim Schlossnagle left Aggieland after last season to become the new coach in Austin. The move has changed the fortunes of the two programs. The Aggies, who were in the national title series last year under Schloss, have gone from preseason No. 1 to unranked in just a couple months. Meanwhile, Texas is risen to the top spot in all of college baseball.
The switch has also ramped up the rivalry. This weekend, the Horns came out on top ... three times.

He has two years left on his rookie deal and still has a chance to prove himself, but Ferguson has taken the mantle as the primary tight end. It will take an injury or catastrophic shift if Dallas was to ever view Schoonmaker as a good pick. It's a rare miss for a front office that has drafted some elite talent.
