Air Selangor App now lets users report leaks in real time
He said the improved mobile application now features a 'Report Leaks' function, allowing users to report leaking or burst pipes, faulty meters, and illegal connections in real time.
'This initiative aims to reduce the Non-Revenue Water (NRW) rate and ensure more efficient water management,' he said in a statement today.
He said the Air Selangor 2.0 app was revealed during the MADANI Smart Water Campaign launched by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof earlier today.
Adam Saffian added that the app also includes a water usage monitoring feature through the Litres per Capita per Day (LCD) indicator, allowing consumers to assess and manage their daily water consumption.
'They can compare their consumption against the benchmark recommended by the National Water Services Commission (SPAN), which is 160 litres per day, and receive water-saving tips tailored to their household profile,' he said.
According to Adam Saffian, Air Selangor has implemented multiple digital initiatives as part of its sustainability commitment to promoting smart water usage among consumers.
On the MADANI Smart Water Campaign conducted by SPAN and the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, he said it is a national initiative to nurture prudent water usage among the public to ensure water supply sustainability.
He said the campaign aligns with the memorandum of collaboration signed between Air Selangor and Monsta Studios Sdn Bhd in April to bolster efforts to raise water-saving awareness among the younger generation.
The three-year collaboration aims to implement more creative programmes and activities involving the younger generation to raise awareness about water conservation from an early age, he added.

The second MOC, signed with property developer Central Spectrum (M) Sdn Bhd (CSSB), focuses on enhancing long-term water security in Pulau Indah, Klang where the company is spearheading major development projects. Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the collaborations aimed at enhancing technical training, boosting employability among youth and ensuring long-term water security for Selangor's rapidly developing industrial zones. He said the partnership between Air Selangor, Unisel and STDC would set out a framework for water management. 'Priority to enrol for the courses or programmes will be given to Air Selangor employees and vendors. 'The initiative includes industrial training placements, structured guidance, and real-world learning opportunities that enhance graduate employability. On the MOC with Central Spectrum, the developer of Selangor BioBay Industrial Park in Pulau Indah, Amirudin said the aim was to implement sustainable alternative water supply solutions for industrial and commercial needs in the area. He said Pulau Indah was set to undergo major transformation that would see investments in critical infrastructure such as a Water Reclamation Plant, Seawater Desalination Plant and In-situ Desalination Plant. As such, it was crucial to ensure uninterrupted water access for high-tech sectors including manufacturing, research and development, and biotechnology, he said. 'Water is a fundamental component in any major development, especially for projects like Selangor BioBay, which demand a reliable and sustainable supply to attract local and international investors,' he added. Air Selangor chief executive officer Adam Saffian Ghazali said the MOCs represented a significant step in creating a holistic and sustainable water industry ecosystem. 'Our collaboration with Unisel and STDC will benefit not just Air Selangor, but the water supply services sector as a whole. Selangor targets dedicated institute for water management training
HULU LANGAT: Selangor aims to establish a dedicated institute to train and supply skilled water management professionals, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari. "Our ultimate goal is to establish an institute that can train and supply skilled water management professionals in the future. That is what we aim to achieve," he said. Amirudin was speaking after witnessing the signing of two Memoranda of Cooperation (MoC) between Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor), the Selangor Technical Skills Development Centre (STDC), and Universiti Selangor (Unisel) here today. The MoCs aim to build an integrated education and training ecosystem for Air Selangor staff, vendors, and future talent in the water industry and lay the foundation for a dedicated water management institute in the future. "There are two main components — technical and vocational — under STDC. "This includes everything from pipe maintenance and management to the upkeep of Selangor's water supply systems," he said. Air Selangor staff, he added, will be involved as trainers and facilitators to help reskill or upskill existing employees and vendors, including contractors and suppliers. Amirudin said their involvement ensures the necessary standards are met. The second MoC, with Unisel, will focus on developing a dedicated education module on water management. "It's important to understand that water management is not just about technical aspects such as pipe or valve replacement. "It also involves the delivery of clean water and comprehensive utility management.," Amirudin said. He added that this requires a structured training module on how to run a utility company and ensure consistent service delivery in a fast-growing and challenging state such as Selangor.

New body to oversee city-state's payment schemes
The Singapore Payments Network will aim to strengthen the governance of both national and cross-border payment schemes. — The Straits Times SINGAPORE: Singapore announced the incorporation of a new entity that will administer and oversee the Republic's eight national payment schemes, such as Fast, Giro, PayNow and SGQR. The Singapore Payments Network (Span), which will be operational by 2026, will aim to strengthen the governance of both national and cross-border payment schemes, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and The Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS) said on June 25. It will also drive continuous innovation in the payments space and encourage active collaboration among key industry players. Additionally, the initial members of Span are MAS and financial institutions comprising Citibank, DBS Bank, HSBC, Maybank, OCBC, Standard Chartered Bank and UOB. A board of directors will be formed to guide Span's progression from incorporation to operational readiness, while ensuring sound governance and alignment with its strategic purpose, MAS and ABS said. Additionally, the 11-member board will comprise two senior representatives from MAS, five from bank and non-bank financial institutions, as well as four independent industry directors. It will also oversee the next phase of work, including the onboarding of other core national payment infrastructure participants as company members, and the transition of the payment schemes from their current administrators to Span. Such schemes are currently administered and governed by MAS, ABS, the Singapore Clearing House Association and the Infocomm Media Development Authority. This development comes after MAS and ABS announced on Feb 12 plans to consolidate Singapore's national payment schemes under a single entity. Speaking at ABS' 52nd annual dinner on June 25, Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong said the formation of Span is a timely move to strengthen the national payments infrastructure and drive further innovation within Singapore's payments sector. Furthermore, Gan, who is also MAS chairman, noted that payment options such as Fast and SGQR are an indispensable part of the daily lives of consumers and businesses, as they enable personal and corporate payment transactions within and outside of Singapore. — The Straits Times/ANN
