OKU cardholder fined RM1,800 for causing hurt to 11-year-old boy
The accused did not contest the charge after it was read to her before Magistrate Saiful Sayoti on Thursday (July 17).
The fine was imposed in default three months' jail.
She was accused of committing the offence at a grocery store in Mantin at around 12.30pm on Tuesday (July 15).

She was charged under Section 323 of the Penal Code with voluntarily causing hurt to the victim by stepping on his face and legs.
Offenders can be jailed for up to one year or fined up to RM2,000, or both, upon conviction.
Deputy public prosecutor Fidha Misjedi asked the court to impose a punishment commensurate with the offence, as the victim was a young boy.
She said pleading guilty did not automatically mean the accused was entitled to a lenient sentence.
The accused, who was represented by a lawyer from the Legal Aid Department, pleaded for leniency as she had no source of income, was unmarried, and had mental health issues.
Police detained the accused after the victim's mother lodged a report claiming that her son had been beaten and threatened by the suspect.
Nilai OCPD Supt Abdul Malik Hasim said the incident was captured by the store's CCTV system.
The suspect, he said, was said to have been experiencing hallucinations at the time and suspected the victim of shoplifting, although there was no evidence for that.

SEBERANG PRAI: Police have launched an investigation after a video showing a man being assaulted and forced into a four-wheel drive vehicle went viral on TikTok. The 2-minute and 5-second clip, which began circulating on the platform on July 17, captured three men assaulting the victim on the head and body before coercing him into the vehicle. Seberang Prai Selatan district police chief Superintendent Jay Januari Siowou said the incident is believed to have occurred at around 7.16pm on July 16. He said initial investigations suggest the attack may have stemmed from allegations of jewellery theft involving the victim. "In the video, three male suspects were seen assaulting the victim on the head and body without using any weapons before forcing him into a four-wheel drive vehicle," he said in a statement today. Siowou said the victim, who suffered injuries to his face and head, received treatment at a hospital. "The victim is also being investigated for a theft case and has been arrested. "He is currently under remand for four days until July 20 to assist in investigations," he said. The case is being investigated under Section 325 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt. "Efforts are ongoing to trace all suspects involved in the incident." Those with information of the incident are urged to contact investigating officer Inspector Sarina Mohd Adam at 017-291 2781. Police also reminded the public not to take matters into their own hands. "We advise the public not to resort to vigilante actions and to allow the authorities to handle the situation in accordance with the law," he said. Meanwhile, two CCTV clips show three men arriving in a white four-wheel drive and forcing a man into the vehicle. In the footage, two men approached the victim, who was standing across the road with a few others, before they began roughing him up. A third suspect, dressed in white, then joined in and dragged the man towards the parked vehicle. One of the suspects was seen repeatedly punching the victim when he tried to resist and escape. While one man carried his upper body, another grabbed his legs, and they shoved him into the back seat. The third suspect then got into the driver's seat and drove off with the victim. Alongside the clips, a voice note of a conversation between one of the suspects and another person claiming to run an NGO has also gone viral. The conversation, believed to be in Tamil, appears to be a confrontation about how the victim was taken. The man, said to be representing the victim, is heard questioning why the group took matters into their own hands if a police report had already been lodged. The suspect responds by saying the victim was wanted for theft and that police had allegedly instructed them to bring him to the station. The caller then says he will lodge a report based on the vehicle's number plate due to the way the three men had assaulted and abducted the victim.

Ex-IT officer loses RM180,000 in FB job scam
KUANTAN: A former information technology officer lost her savings and gratuity totalling RM180,789 after falling victim to a non-existent part-time job scam advertised on Facebook earlier this month. The 42-year-old woman was deceived into believing that she needed to invest a certain amount as capital to participate in the online job scheme but ended up losing all her money. Acting district police chief Superintendent Mohd Adli Mat Daud said the victim was told she only needed to work online from home and could earn lucrative returns. "The woman was enticed by promises of large payouts for simply completing online tasks. "She was instructed to log in and click on a system, and each time she completed a task, payments were supposedly credited to her account. "However, she was asked to make an initial payment to qualify for job assignments, and failure to do so would disqualify her from the position," he said in a statement today. The victim made 18 transactions totalling RM180,789 into 16 different bank accounts between July 6 and July 16, he said. Adli said the woman realised she had been scammed when the fraudsters continued pressuring her for more payments, despite her having completed several tasks and receiving no income. He said the victim lodged a police report today and the case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating, which carries a jail term of up to 10 years, whipping, and a fine.
