QuickCheck: Was a Selangor toll plaza the site of a brawl?
REPORTS of altercations at toll plazas can quickly grab public attention, especially when they lead to traffic disruptions. Recently, a video surfaced showing a brawl between drivers at a toll plaza. Did this incident really occur at Kuala Langat? Verdict: TRUE A misunderstanding while entering a cash lane led to a brawl involving a four-wheel-drive vehicle and a lorry at the Telok Panglima Garang Toll Plaza in Kuala Langat on Thursday (June 26). The altercation occurred around 6.15pm and involved two local men, each driving one of the vehicles. Kuala Langat OCPD Supt Akmalrizal Radzi explained in a statement on Friday (June 27) that the incident stemmed from a misunderstanding when the driver of a Toyota Hilux allegedly cut in from the left before entering the toll booth's cash lane. This action resulted in a collision with a lorry driven by another individual. "After the collision, the Hilux driver attempted to discuss the matter with the lorry driver, but the latter refused to stop and continued driving," said Supt Akmalrizal, adding that this led to a conflict between the two parties involved. "However, a thorough investigation revealed no serious criminal elements, and both parties agreed to resolve the issue amicably. "The drivers have since provided statements at the Kuala Langat District Police Headquarters," he said. The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Division under Regulation 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 (Regulation 10 LN 166/59). Police have advised the public not to speculate about the incident. References: 1. my/article/735885/berita/ semasa/gaduh-di-plaza-tol- berebut-masuk-lorong-tunai
