Married At First Sight star Evelyn Ellis' shock confession about her now-partner Duncan James

Daily Mail4 days ago

Former Married At First Sight bride Evelyn Ellis has made a jaw-dropping confession about her now-partner Duncan James, revealing she found him attractive before she even appeared on the show.
The couple met on season 10 of the hit reality series, but were initially paired with other participants - Evelyn, 29, married Rupert Bugden, while Duncan, 39, tied the knot with Alyssa Barmonde.
However, seeing as though Evelyn was a late addition in the 2023 series, she was able to get a sneak peek at the show's cast before taking to the screen.
'The official cast photos got leaked and because I was an intruder I saw them before entering,' she told Now To Love.
Evelyn then admitted to having her eye on one particular contestant on the show - her now-boyfriend.

'In Duncan's photo he had a six-pack and a Santa hat on,' she said.
'I knew he was my type on paper – I mean he's everyone's type - but obviously when I walked down the aisle, it wasn't Duncan.'
It was during the infamous couple swap where she was partnered with Duncan that their 'spark' became evident.
Duncan and Evelyn first grew close during the controversial challenge, in which participants exchanged spouses and shared beds with them for an entire weekend.
'Duncan had the best time with Evelyn. The fun part of him came out again,' an insider told New Idea magazine at the time of the couple swap.
'He wondered what it would have been like if they were matched together from the start. He is definitely attracted to her.'
Duncan and Evelyn's attraction was so obvious that even producers began talking about it behind the scenes, with the hopes of a 'new couple emerging '.
'Everyone noticed Duncan was smiling again – even Alyssa. That was hard for [Alyssa] to see,' the source added.
Taking to Instagram in April, Duncan posted a sweet message alongside a series of glam snaps with Evelyn
Flash forward to now, the MAFS golden couple just celebrated their two-year anniversary, stepping out for a romantic evening and sharing a heartfelt tribute to social media.
Taking to Instagram in April, Duncan posted a sweet message alongside a series of glam snaps with Evelyn.
'2 years of loving you ❤️ Which is 730 days, and approximately 1,051,200 minutes of putting up with each other,' he wrote.
'Thank you, for being you x.'
Evelyn cheekily responded in the comments with, 'We still got it ' - proving the spark is very much alive between the fan-favourite couple.
In the photos, the reality TV lovebirds are seen posing arm-in-arm at a chic dining spot, Besuto Restaurant, in Sydney's CBD.
Another captures a sweet close-up of their cosy moment together, with Evelyn resting her head on Duncan's shoulder.

Jeff Fenech breaks silence on his daughter's big baby announcement with NRL star Bradman Best - after saying he didn't want her to date a footy player

Aussie boxing legend Jeff Fenech has spoken of his pride after his daughter Kayla announced she and NRL star Bradman Best were expecting a baby. The former IBF and WBC title holder had previously stated that he didn't want his daughter to date a rugby league player but has now changed his tune after meeting the Newcastle Knights star. Kayla and Best announced that they were expecting a baby in 2026 on Instagram last week. 'Baby Best due in January 2026. We can't wait,' Kayla wrote on the social media platform. But despite his earlier comments, Fenech has now spoken of his delight at the news. 'They are so happy,' he told The Daily Telegraph. 'And I'm so proud of both of them. Whether it's a boy or a girl, the baby is going to have some great genes. 'And they'll be great parents. You know how much I love Kayla and Bradman is a great fella who will make a great dad.' Fenech said he went 'apes***' when he found out his daughter was dating a footy player. 'I'd always warned my girls about going out with league players,' he had previously said. He added: 'So when she rang and told me, I went off the deep end. I gave her a roasting. She kept trying to say, "Dad, he's a lovely guy". Kayla was telling me every day how nice he was.' But it his opinion has changed since meeting Best, with Fenech, one of the country's greatest fighters, now also having gone down to the gym to train with the footy star. 'Bradman knew I was angry, but he told Kayla, "I'll prove your dad wrong" - and he has,' Fenech added. Kayla has over 200,000 followers on Instagram and works as a business development manager for Ray White. He added that he was 'so proud' of the pair having also previously revealed that he and Best had gone down to the gym to train together After announcing the big news on Instagram last week, the pair received a heartfelt reception from many of their close friends and family. Her mother, Suzee, wrote in the comments: 'Omg I'm so proud of you both, can't wait to meet my gorgeous little bubba. 'Super excited to be on this next chapter/journey with you both. Luv u both.' Jeff has also previously sung Best's praises and lifted the lid on how their training went. 'Maybe he was trying to impress his future father-in-law,' Fenech said. He was very impressive when we trained. 'When we first met, you could tell he was a good young man. He's treating Kayla beautifully. Like a gentleman. They're very happy. And so is my wife Suzee and I. 'The only time I got dirty is when he scored two tries against my Parramatta side last weekend and beat us.'
