Ikegami announces UHK-X700RF wireless television camera
Ikegami has expanded its UNICAM-XE camera line-up with the launch of the UHK-X700RF, a wireless portable camera that retains the core features, ergonomics and lightweight design of its wired counterpart, the UHK-X700. Designed to meet the demands of modern broadcast production, the UHK-X700RF offers broadcasters increased creative freedom across a range of applications, from live news and sports to stage and studio events.
Gisbert Hochguertel, Ikegami Europe Product Specialist, said: 'UNICAM-XE series cameras are designed to allow fast and easy setup, versatile operation and secure delivery of broadcast quality video. They share the robust build quality and intuitive control structure that have made Ikegami UNICAM camera systems a popular choice among television control producers in Europe and around the world. The UHK-X700RF opens a wide vista of creative perspectives for applications such as news, OB sports and coverage of stage events. Even in fully rehearsed studio projects, it offers producers the freedom to introduce unusual-angle shots at short notice.'
The UHK-X700RF is powered by a native 4K UHD sensor with 3840 x 2160 resolution and global shutter technology, ensuring clear, natural images under various lighting conditions. It supports both UHD (2160p at 50/59.94 fps) and HD (1080p/i at 50/59.94 fps) video formats. Like other models in the UNICAM-XE family, it includes a dual filter wheel for independent light and colour control, plus space for effect filters or optical low-pass filters to reduce moiré and aliasing. It also offers automatic vignetting correction when used with OVC-compatible B4-mount zoom lenses.
The camera's wireless transmitter operates within the 2 to 2.7 GHz range, tunable in 250 kHz steps, with a 100 mW output. It features two antennas, one for video and another for telemetry, and uses multichannel antenna diversity for strong signal stability across a 500-metre transmission range. For extended coverage, up to 22 IP-Mesh data transceivers can be integrated into a single system. The camera delivers ultra-low latency encoding at just 40 milliseconds for both UHD and HD formats.
The system's receiver and decoder unit fits a half-width 19-inch rack and supports DVB-T modulation in QPSK, 16QAM and 64QAM, with adjustable bandwidths from 5 to 8 MHz. To ensure robust performance under various conditions, the DVB-T guard interval and forward error correction settings are user-configurable. The unit accommodates multiple video codecs including H.265-HEVC, H.264-AVC, and MPEG-2, and supports all common HD and UHD broadcast frame rates in SDR, HDR (BT.2100), and BT.2020 wide color gamut formats.
The receiver features four SDI outputs (1.5G, 3G, and 12G) with embedded audio, two XLR analog audio outputs, a genlock BNC input, and a 12V DC XLR power input. It can connect directly to up to eight downconverters via BNC cables, supporting cable lengths up to 100 meters. To increase distance between receiving antennas and the Sapphire-RXD4, users can utilise a fibre base unit and extension module connected via SMPTE hybrid fibre/copper cables with LEMO connectors—offering an extension range of up to 1 km with power supplied through the same cable.
With the UHK-X700RF, Ikegami continues to push the boundaries of live production technology, offering a robust and flexible wireless camera system tailored for today's fast-paced broadcasting environments.

Islamic Treasury Sukuk auction for July 2025 attracts bids worth $1.42bln
ABU DHABI: The Ministry of Finance (MoF), in its capacity as the issuer and in collaboration with the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) as the issuing and payment agent, announced the successful completion of the July 2025 auction of the UAE Dirham-denominated Islamic Treasury Sukuk (T-Sukuk) amounting to AED1.1 billion. This issuance forms part of the T-Sukuk issuance programme for the year 2025, as published on the MoF's official website. The auction attracted robust demand from eight primary dealers across both tranches maturing in August 2028 and May 2030. The total bids received reached AED5.35 billion, reflecting an oversubscription of nearly five times and underscoring the strong confidence of investors in the UAE's creditworthiness and Islamic finance framework. The auction results highlighted competitive, market-driven pricing with a Yield to Maturity (YTM) of 3.88% for the August 2028 tranche and 3.95% for the May 2030 tranche on par with comparable US Treasuries at the time of issuance. The Islamic T-Sukuk programme plays a vital role in supporting the development of the UAE's dirham-denominated yield curve, offering secure investment instruments for a wide range of investors. Furthermore, it reinforces the local debt capital market, contributes to the development of the broader investment landscape, and supports the UAE's long-term economic sustainability and growth objectives.
