The UHK-X700RF is equipped with a native UHD-sensor (3840 x 2160 pixels) with a global shutter architecture designed to capture natural images even under challenging situations. Ikegami has expanded its UNICAM-XE camera line-up with the launch of the UHK-X700RF, a wireless portable camera that retains the core features, ergonomics and lightweight design of its wired counterpart, the UHK-X700. Designed to meet the demands of modern broadcast production, the UHK-X700RF offers broadcasters increased creative freedom across a range of applications, from live news and sports to stage and studio events. Gisbert Hochguertel, Ikegami Europe Product Specialist, said: 'UNICAM-XE series cameras are designed to allow fast and easy setup, versatile operation and secure delivery of broadcast quality video. They share the robust build quality and intuitive control structure that have made Ikegami UNICAM camera systems a popular choice among television control producers in Europe and around the world. The UHK-X700RF opens a wide vista of creative perspectives for applications such as news, OB sports and coverage of stage events. Even in fully rehearsed studio projects, it offers producers the freedom to introduce unusual-angle shots at short notice.' The UHK-X700RF is powered by a native 4K UHD sensor with 3840 x 2160 resolution and global shutter technology, ensuring clear, natural images under various lighting conditions. It supports both UHD (2160p at 50/59.94 fps) and HD (1080p/i at 50/59.94 fps) video formats. Like other models in the UNICAM-XE family, it includes a dual filter wheel for independent light and colour control, plus space for effect filters or optical low-pass filters to reduce moiré and aliasing. It also offers automatic vignetting correction when used with OVC-compatible B4-mount zoom lenses. The camera's wireless transmitter operates within the 2 to 2.7 GHz range, tunable in 250 kHz steps, with a 100 mW output. It features two antennas, one for video and another for telemetry, and uses multichannel antenna diversity for strong signal stability across a 500-metre transmission range. For extended coverage, up to 22 IP-Mesh data transceivers can be integrated into a single system. The camera delivers ultra-low latency encoding at just 40 milliseconds for both UHD and HD formats. The system's receiver and decoder unit fits a half-width 19-inch rack and supports DVB-T modulation in QPSK, 16QAM and 64QAM, with adjustable bandwidths from 5 to 8 MHz. To ensure robust performance under various conditions, the DVB-T guard interval and forward error correction settings are user-configurable. The unit accommodates multiple video codecs including H.265-HEVC, H.264-AVC, and MPEG-2, and supports all common HD and UHD broadcast frame rates in SDR, HDR (BT.2100), and BT.2020 wide color gamut formats. The receiver features four SDI outputs (1.5G, 3G, and 12G) with embedded audio, two XLR analog audio outputs, a genlock BNC input, and a 12V DC XLR power input. It can connect directly to up to eight downconverters via BNC cables, supporting cable lengths up to 100 meters. To increase distance between receiving antennas and the Sapphire-RXD4, users can utilise a fibre base unit and extension module connected via SMPTE hybrid fibre/copper cables with LEMO connectors—offering an extension range of up to 1 km with power supplied through the same cable. With the UHK-X700RF, Ikegami continues to push the boundaries of live production technology, offering a robust and flexible wireless camera system tailored for today's fast-paced broadcasting environments.

Ikegami will also highlight the UHD-native UHK-X700 and HD-native HDK-X500 studio/portable cameras. Ikegami Electronics is set to unveil the latest advancements in its broadcast camera and picture monitor lineup at the upcoming CABSAT 2025 exhibition, taking place from May 13 to 15 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Visitors will be among the first in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region to see the debut of the UHL-X40, an ultra-compact 4K-UHD HDR camera built for scenarios where minimal size and weight are critical. Abdul Ghani, General Manager, Ikegami Middle East, said: 'Our new UHL-X40 elevates image capture to an enhanced level of versatility and efficiency while still maintaining the robustness and high signal quality which our customers naturally expect. Measuring only 89 mm front-to-back by 128 mm high and operating on just 23 watts at 12 volts DC, the UHL-X40 can be located up to 10 km from its CCU-X40 control unit via duplex single-mode fibre carrying uncompressed RGB raw pixel data. A 1G Ethernet trunk accommodates external data such as pan/tilt/zoom control. The UHL-X40 shares the same core technology and features as our latest-generation UHK-X700 series, including 3-CMOS UHD global-shutter sensors and advanced digital processing, so allows easy intercuts between the two models. Additional UHL-X40 capabilities are image inversion, allowing upside-down mounting from a ceiling, plus CCU-selectable HD image cutout selection from a UHD source. The UHL-X40 achieves F11 sensitivity at 2160p50 and has a signal-to-noise ratio of 62 dB. HDR and BT.2020 colour reproduction are available as standard.' Ikegami will also spotlight the UHK-X700 and HDK-X500 studio/portable cameras. Both are engineered for studio and outside broadcast use, whether mounted on pedestals, tripods, jibs or operated over-the-shoulder. The UHK-X700 and its UHK-X600 variant offer native 3840 x 2160 UHD resolution through three 2/3-inch CMOS global shutter sensors, while the HDK-X500 delivers native 1920 x 1080 HD. This global shutter design ensures distortion-free still frames and minimises issues with flashing lights and LED screens. The UHK-X700 supports high-frame-rate (HFR) recording at up to 2x in UHD and 8x in HD when paired with Ikegami's BSX-100 base station or CCU-X100. The HDK-X500 achieves a 1,000 TVL horizontal resolution, 62 dB SNR, and F12 sensitivity at 1080/50p. It also offers optional 2x high-speed capture or lower frame-rate formats such as 1080p/23.98. Both camera models are powered by Ikegami's AXII digital processor, which offers automatic optical vignetting correction and remote back focus adjustment, making them highly adaptable to various broadcast setups. Among the new picture monitors on display will be the 24-inch HLM-2460WA, an upgrade to the HLM-2460W. Designed for broadcast use in edit suites or monitor walls, the monitor delivers enhanced image dynamics using a 1920 x 1200 IPS LCD panel with a contrast ratio of 1,800:1 and a brightness of 400 nits. Also featured will be the HLM-1860WR and HLM-960WR multiformat monitors. The HLM-1860WR features a larger 18.5-inch IPS LCD panel within the same 19-inch rack size as its predecessor, offering full HD resolution, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, and 500 nits brightness for visibility even outdoors. Production Crew invests in Ikegami UHK-X700 cameras for new OB truck

UHK-X700 cameras are 3840 x 2160 RGB UHD-native and designed for use in pedestal or tripod mounted studio and OB applications as well as fully mobile electronic field production and newsgathering. Production Crew, a division of Riyadh-based AFLAM Productions, has upgraded its broadcast capabilities with the acquisition of 12 Ikegami UHK-X700 UNICAM-XE 4K-UHD camera systems. These cameras will be integrated into the company's newly designed 12G-SDI outside broadcast (OB) truck, ensuring high-quality 4K-UHD HDR production for live events. Each system includes the camera head, a 7-inch LCD viewfinder, BSX-100 base station, OCP-300 operation control panel and a T-430 tripod mounting plate. The OB truck, designed and built by Dubai-based El Baba Smart Technology, is fully equipped to handle large-scale outdoor events at full broadcast quality. Shady Mokdad, executive director of AFLAM Productions and managing director of Production Crew, said: 'We have been using HDK-73 cameras in our studios for many years and are very pleased with their performance and reliability as well as the technical support provided by Ikegami. Our aim in choosing UHK-X700 cameras is to bridge the quality gap between broadcast and digital film. 'Pre-purchase tests confirmed the excellence of the UHK-X700 cameras in terms of optical and electronic performance, thanks in good measure to their three 2/3-inch CMOS 4K sensors which incorporate a global shutter to provide freedom from rolling-shutter distortion and flash-banding artifacts. 'From an electronics perspective, each UHK-X700 supports a wide range of high-grade video processing functions, including high dynamic range and wide colour gamut as well as 16-axis colour correction, within a space-efficient and power-efficient ASIC. 'The cameras inherit the robust build quality that we associate with Ikegami products, allowing confident operation outdoors as well as in studio environments. The UHK-X700 also includes features necessary to sustain our reputation for creative excellence, such as optical vignetting correction, remote back focus adjustment, plus viewfinder-based focus-assist, safe-area markers and filter settings.' Mokdad added: 'Ease of operation is another major feature, especially important in today's world of multiple transmission formats and modes of delivery. The new vehicle is cabled to accommodate up to 16 camera systems if we need to expand our workflow.' The UHK-X700/BSX-100 combination chosen by AFLAM's Production Crew team allows cameras to be securely linked up to 3 kilometres from their operating location, including the power to the camera head. Simultaneous output in HD SDR and UHD HDR video formats is supported, including mixed sources. 4K-UHD video is available as a 12G-SDI feed directly from the camera head, enabling the UHK-X700 to be integrated into a wireless system.' The UHK-X700 cameras, designed for studio, OB and electronic field production, feature a low centre of gravity for seamless operation on pedestals, tripods, or shoulder mounts. They also offer high frame-rate capture, supporting 2x speed in 4K and up to 8x speed in HD for slow-motion coverage of live events. The Ikegami OCP-300 controller enhances workflow efficiency, providing touchscreen LCD controls, rotary encoders, and PoE (Power over Ethernet) support. Its memory card slot enables quick and seamless camera setup, ensuring a streamlined production process.
