IPOH: The construction of 12 Madani Recreational Parks (TRM) in Ipoh, backed by an allocation of RM5.4 million, is on track for completion by the end of July.
Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming confirmed the progress, highlighting the government's dedication to improving public recreational facilities.
Each park received RM450,000 in funding, with the Canning Madani Recreational Park already operational.
Nga emphasised the ministry's broader vision of establishing 1,000 parks nationwide, aligning with the Madani economic framework's goals of sustainability and community well-being.
'The Madani government is committed to fostering a sustainable, competitive, and prosperous nation. Quality public spaces are vital for the people's welfare,' he said during the launch of the Canning TRM and a CSR initiative by Ipoh City Council (MBI) and Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd (KLK).
A memorandum of understanding between MBI and KLK formalised a two-year partnership to maintain seven TRMs, including Woodland Park 1 and 2 Tambun, Bandar Baru Putra, and First Garden.
KLK will conduct biweekly upkeep, such as fertilising and grass cutting.
Nga urged more corporations to support similar initiatives, reinforcing Ipoh's vision for a greener, cleaner city. – Bernama

MOF Warns of RM100 SARA Aid Scam Links

The Finance Ministry (MOF) has clarified that recipients of the one-off RM100 SARA aid do not need to register, amid growing concerns over scam links and misinformation spreading online. Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying said the aid will be automatically credited to all eligible MyKad holders aged 18 and above starting Aug 31, and any claims that users must sign up through online portals are false and potentially dangerous. 'We've received numerous inquiries and complaints about fake websites and links related to RM100 Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) aid registration. 'Let me be clear, these are scams. Do not click on or share them,' Lim emphasised, while stressing that no application is needed as the aid will be directly credited to recipients' MyKad. On July 23, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that a one-off RM100 SARA cash aid that will be credited via MyKad to all Malaysians aged 18 and above. This part of broader Madani government initiatives, which also include toll hike postponements and a RON95 fuel price cut to RM1.99 per litre later this year. Lim added that in the event eligible individuals do not receive the payment by Aug 31, the government will provide follow-up information and guidance. Meanwhile, Lim also revealed that the government is reviewing proposals to include wet goods such as chicken, fish and meat under the SARA programme. 'The consideration is part of ongoing efforts to align the programme with real consumer needs, especially among lower-income households. 'We're open to feedback. Any expansion will be thoroughly studied in consultation with relevant stakeholders, including the recipients themselves,' she said. As of May 1, the SARA programme covers 14 categories of essential goods, including food, medicine, hygiene products, school supplies and household cleaning items, amounting to over 90,000 eligible products nationwide. The MOF urges Malaysians to rely only on official government channels for accurate updates and to report suspicious messages or websites related to the aid. Related

Man spends whopping RM50,000 just to qualify for TRX Premium Lounge

WHAT does it take for a person to have access to exclusive luxury? For one guy, it is RM50,000 worth of purchases just to be qualified for a membership in the TRX, The Premium Lounge. Now, one would imagine the crazy load of shopping a person has to do to rack up a RM50,000 bill, and rightly so. RM50,000 is enough to purchase an entry level car by cash or comfortably pay the deposit for a mid-priced home in the KL city centre. Ini baru kaya yang sebenar. Sanggup spend RM50K semata nak masuk dalam TRX The Premium Lounge. Gilaaa 😭 — kamaghul deghaman (@kamaghul) July 26, 2025 The guy in the video had to do a whopping amount of shopping, and even then, it was not enough. According to him in the video, he finally reached the amount by making huge purchases at Chanel. It sure brings out the Crazy Rich Asian vibes. But it appears our fellow netizens aren't impressed by all that burned money. 'I'd rather use the 50k to make my house better looking than the TRX Premium lounge,' said @AndyTalisman, and he has a point. 'So, the TRX is practising the caste system in India?' @arfhartoe wondered. But netizen @neesely believed the money was not wasted since he was actually turning it into content. However, what is the TRX Premium Lounge? Apparently there are three tiers to their Loyalty Programme, the Enthusiast, Insider and Inspirer. For example, a person qualifies for the Insider after a minimum spending of RM10,000 in three receipts on the same day. The guy in the video was attempting the Inspirer tier at RM50,000 in five receipts within 14 days, which allows him access to the lounge. According to Tatler Asia, the lounge features contemporary interiors layered with warm textures, curated floral arrangements, and ambient lighting designed to evoke calm sophistication. For Inspirer and Visionary members, the lounge provides an extensive suite of personalised privileges: all-day refreshments featuring artisanal selections, dedicated guest experience support, premium amenities including private facilities and a children's corner, plus complimentary gift wrapping services. All that for RM50,000? Is it worth it or could we just head over to the nearest Thai massage parlour? —July 27, 2025 Main image: @kamaghul (X)
