Let the Stars Guide Your Next Manicure—The Best Nail Designs, According to Your Zodiac Sign

Elle13-06-2025

From chic French tips to cat-eye designs, deciding on a fresh manicure can be overwhelming—which is why determining the best summer nails based on your zodiac sign might make the process a little easier.
Whether you're an earth sign who deserves maximalist nails or the fire sign who's looking for an aesthetically pleasing set (try a painterly ombré design), looking to the stars can be a helpful starting point before your next salon appointment.
The creative Pisces might gravitate toward aura nails or chrome designs, while perfectionist Virgos will appreciate the refined finish of minimalist nail art. When it comes to finding the perfect summer color, classic red will please the elegant Taurus, while moody tones like inky black will satisfy the nonconformist nature of Scorpios.
It goes without saying that you have the final word on your manicure, but if you've ever felt paralyzed by the endless color and design options available, this is certainly a great place to start.
Aquarians love a bit of whimsy, and they're unafraid to push the boundaries—it's no wonder their social circle looks to them for the latest trends. A glassy red manicure brings the drama, but the translucency gives them that extra edge that sets them apart from the crowd.
Imaginative and creative, Pisceans are loved for their sensitive souls. They also tend to be intuitive and have a way of feeling the vibe of those who surround them. What better way to channel a Piscean's magical aura than with an otherworldly silver chrome manicure complete with 3D organic lines on top? A Pisces's aesthetic is anything but basic.
Yes, the Aries is revered for their magnetic presence and sparkling personality (think fellow Aries Elle Fanning and Pedro Pascal), but for your manicure, lean into the April birthstone: diamonds. Go with an immaculate nude manicure and add on a crystal or two to just one fingertip for an elevated take on embellished nails. Considering that Aries can have a competitive side, this manicure will certainly get the compliments rolling in.
Taureans tend to appreciate having a sense of stability, so a classic, vampy red manicure will keep them feeling at ease. Try a rich scarlet rather than a typical orange-red that's so popular in the summer months. A high-shine finish will please the regal side of Taurus signs.
Considering just how charming, sociable, and versatile Geminis tend to be, a neutral manicure with gilded 3D art is perfect for their full summer calendar. This manicure will take you from boardroom to bar and goes with sundresses and a laid-back jeans-and-tee combo.
There is a softness to a Cancer's personality that makes pink nails perfect for them. Seeing as this water sign also appreciates all things pretty and classic, a ballet-pink glazed manicure feels trendy and cool without going too overboard. If you're willing to go the extra mile, why not ease in with a minimalist nail charm?
It's no secret that Leos enjoy a bit of drama and glamour. You'll no doubt be putting your best foot forward this summer with showstopping swimwear and perhaps a brand-new summer bob, so let your nails complement that. A neat and short silver manicure goes with pretty much everything and jazzes up the fingertips without competing with the rest of your look.
Virgos tend to have an eye for exacting details. Couple that with their perfectionist side, and understated nail art is exactly up their alley. Try tiny dots on a barely-there base for a something-but-nothing manicure.
Libras often have a serene, dreamy vibe to them. With Venus as their ruling planet, this star sign also has an affinity for romance. White nails capture the tranquility of Libras perfectly, but why not take it a step further with white-on-white embellishments and 3D designs? Libras appreciate order, so a tonal manicure brings interest yet keeps things from being overstimulating.
Scorpios do what they love and love what they do, which means traditional rules and trends don't apply for this star sign. Why do yellow for summer when it's much cooler and off-kilter to do a black manicure for the warmer months? Pair your sun-kissed flush with an onyx French tip. Bonus points for a gold nail accessory à la Di Petsa, pictured here.
This free-spirited star sign is all about self-expression, and their inquisitive nature means they're unafraid to try new things. Ombré, watercolor-esque nails will fulfill their love for a good time. Take a cue from the December birthstone and try varying shades of blue.
This earth sign is often the friend who's grounded, hardworking, and responsible, which means no one deserves a maximalist, magical set of nails more than Capricorn. This shimmery, star-studded design gives off a princess vibe that'll no doubt please the Capricorn when the compliments come in.

‘Predator: Badlands' Joins Disney's San Diego Comic-Con Plans

The hunt will be on at San Diego Comic-Con, where Predator: Badlands will get the spotlight. Per the Hollywood Reporter, the sci-fi film will get a Hall H panel during the convention weekend. It'll be the second big Disney movie of the fall season to make an appearance at the famed Hall, joining October's Tron: Ares. Both films will fill in for a lack of Marvel at this year's convention, and it'll be the Predator franchise's first theatrical movie to hit SDCC since Shane Black's 2018 reboot. (Prey, which premiered at SDCC 2022, sadly never got a theatrical release.) Like with Tron, Predator: Badlands hasn't had much marketing since its initial trailer and poster. The Hall H panel will hopefully feature a new trailer for the film, which centers on Dak (Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi), a young Yautja outcast teaming with the android Thia (Elle Fanning) to get back in his clan's good graces by hunting a worthy enemy. Prey director Dan Trachtenberg is back behind the camera for this one, and unlike Prey and this year's Killers of Killers, you'll be able to see Badlands on the big screen. San Diego Comic-Con runs from July 24-27, and Predator: Badlands hits theaters on November 7. While we wait for more info about it, might as well rewatch Prey or Killer of Killers over on Hulu. Willy Chavarria made a bold statement about deportees at Paris Fashion Week

Men with shaved heads, dressed in all-white outfits, walk in a single-file line into a large auditorium with their hands tied behind their backs. They are forced to kneel, then they are bound together in circular formation, facing away from one another. This haunting scene is not from inside El Salavador's high-security CECOT prison, which has recently functioned as a holding place for some deported migrants captured in the United States by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. It was the opening statement of Willy Chavarria's Paris Fashion Week show. On Friday, videos and photos began to circulate of show, in which 35 models walked the runway in the French capital that morning. José Feliciano's version of 'California Dreamin'' played in the background during the show; musicians Danny Lux and Rainao were among those who walked the runway. Mexican singer-songwriter Vivir Quintana also performed. The reception to the fashion show-turned-performance art was largely positive online — with most people applauding the move as a bold political statement. Others, however, lambasted it as distasteful. 'I'm crying ugly tears,' one TikTok user commented on a video of the presentation. 'It really does show that fashion is revolutionary and can be a powerful tool to bring injustice to light.' Another user wrote, 'You can say EVERYTHING without saying anything.' 'Fashion IS political, and I'm here for it,' someone wrote in the comment section of another video of the show. In praise of Chavarria's art, one commentator said, 'SPEAK ON IT! Our people need help and this is exactly how we bring awareness.' Others on Instagram chimed in to criticize the demonstration for using the imagery. 'This is so weird. Why monetize on it, it's like the bad is bad and you're making a show about it,' someone commented on an Instagram video of the show. 'I wonder how the prisoners would feel about this?' For his part, Chavarria saw an opportunity to address the 'dehumanization of how immigrants are being treated in the United States,' according to a press release. The runway opening was presented in partnership with the American Civil Liberties Union and was intended to directly reference the Salvadoran prisons detaining U.S. immigrants. The white tees worn by the models revealed a message from the civil rights organization that read: 'The ACLU dares to create a more perfect union — beyond one person, party or side.' 'I'm not interested in luxury as a symbol of privilege. I'm interested in luxury as a symbol of truth in one's own character,' Chavarria said of the project, in a press statement he issued Friday. 'Exquisite tailoring and craftsmanship worn to elevate one's personal intent — that's power. That's fashion.' The Times has reached out to Chavarria for further comment.

New ‘The Bear' Season Features Mutant Carmy Terrorizing Chicago After Falling Into Vat Of Beef Juice

CHICAGO—With the fourth season of the hit FX show now streaming, viewers reportedly tuned into new episodes of The Bear Wednesday and watched a mutant Carmen Berzatto terrorize Chicago after falling into a vat of beef juice. 'This year we decided to go in a different direction with Carmy, who has up until now been portrayed as an anxiety-ridden twentysomething chef who thrives on chaos, rather than as a hybrid human-meat creature of nightmarish proportions,' show creator Christopher Storer said of Jeremy Allen White's character, who in the season premiere undergoes a grotesque transformation after slipping—or, spoiler, possibly being pushed—off some rickety ceiling rafters into a gurgling tank of Italian beef juice that has been left precariously uncovered by Carmy's mistake-prone kitchen staff. 'This was an acting challenge for Jeremy, who essentially had to play a whole new role because Carmy is now a 60-foot-tall tangle of flesh and chuck roast hell-bent on destroying the city as he searches for more giardiniera to feast on. At the same time, he needed to maintain the nuance of an emotionally tormented prodigy grappling with the grief hidden somewhere deep inside the wet, pulsing French bread that has fused with his skin.' 'Without giving too much away, fans can expect the usual kitchen drama as Carmy, now known to horrified onlookers as 'Mutant Beef Guy,' struggles to balance his work life as a purveyor of fine dining with his personal life as an ungodly, succulent affront to nature,' Storer continued. 'Prepare for your emotions to swell as Mutant Beef Guy watches Claire from the shadows, knowing she will never love him now that he's an abomination. Meanwhile, Sydney is the only person who can communicate with the grunting, massive regional delicacy and see the capacity for Michelin-level plating beyond his deformed exterior. As she struggles to cover for him in the kitchen, she must also fend off the evil sandwich poachers who want to place him in captivity.' Saying they enjoyed the climactic showdown between Mutant Beef Guy and Dr. Sausage atop the Willis Tower, many viewers also praised the season four finale's post-credit scene, which hints at a future spinoff in which the two join forces to fight hunger as 'The Combo.'
