Windsor police reveal most dangerous intersection and cause of crashes
Windsor police are revealing the city's most dangerous intersection and a common factor in many of the crashes.
So far in 2025, Windsor's most dangerous intersection is Lauzon Parkway and Tecumseh Road East.
Police say there were 32 reported collisions – 41 per cent of which involved vehicles making left-hand turns.
'Driving safely and being aware of others on the road is key,' said Inspector Jennifer Crosby, who leads the Traffic Enforcement Unit. 'By staying alert and following traffic rules, we can all play a part in making our roads safer for everyone – especially at high-risk intersections.'
In February, Windsor Police released the updated list of the city's top 10 most dangerous intersections for 2024, where this intersection ranked 8th.

Man in critical condition following Grand Rapids assault; three arrested

According to Manitoba RCMP, officers were called to an assault on River Crescent in the community on July 19. When they arrived, a 56-year-old man was being treated for serious injuries after being found unresponsive on the driveway of a home. He was hospitalized in critical condition, where he remains. Mounties began investigating and identified three suspects. A 46-year-old man was arrested in Grand Rapids on July 23, and a 35-year-old man was arrested two days later in the community after a warrant was executed. A third suspect, a 42-year-old man, was arrested in Winnipeg on Wednesday. All three suspects are from Grand Rapids and are facing aggravated assault charges. The trio remain in custody and the charges have not been tested in court. RCMP continues to investigate.

Report of weapon offence in downtown Regina was ‘unfounded,' police say

(Hayatullah Amanat/CTV News) The Regina Police Service (RPS) says that a reported weapons offence yesterday in downtown Regina was ultimately determined to be unfounded, as no weapon was discovered by officers. At around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, police were dispatched to the Cornwall Centre on the 2100 block of 11th Avenue for a weapons call. The police service says officers were told that a person in the area was carrying what appeared to be a gun. The building was placed on lockdown as police arrived at the scene. However, an investigation found that the threat was 'unfounded,' and no gun was located in the area. The building ceased its lockdown shortly after, according to police.

Fatal crash in north Regina claims life of 13-year-old passenger

(Gareth Dillistone/CTV News) A 13-year-old is dead following a serious crash in north Regina, police say. In an update issued just after 2 p.m. Thursday, the Regina Police Service (RPS) revealed that the collision that had shut down the area surrounding 6th Avenue North and Smith Street was fatal. The 13-year-old victim, who had been a passenger in the vehicle, was declared dead at the scene. Photos from the scene show a convertible sedan lying on its passenger side. Behind it, a power pole appears to have been sheered in half by the vehicle – as a large section of the pole could be seen under the car. According to RPS, officers responded to the scene around 5:30 a.m. When officers arrived, they found a vehicle that appeared to have collided with a power pole and then rolled. The service's investigative collision analysis reconstruction team were called to the scene and began investigating. Police say the investigation is ongoing and charges are expected. 'The road is once again open and motorists can resume their regular activities,' the update read. RPS concluded by saying more information will be released at 'a later time.'
