100-day action plan begins: Revanth shifts focus to ULBs
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has now shifted focus to streamlining administration in urban areas. Following his directions, the Municipal Administration Department has launched a 100-day action plan with emphasis on improving urban governance, public health, environmental sustainability, and citizen engagement across Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).
According to officials, the key objectives of the action plan include enhancing solid waste management and sanitation systems, ensuring monsoon preparedness through critical civic infrastructure improvements, driving behavioural change and community participation through extensive IEC (information education and communication) campaigns on solid waste management, promoting urban greenery and beautification efforts for cleaner cities, conducting a comprehensive Bhuvan Survey for identification of unassessed and under-assessed properties in ULBs and bring them in tax net.
The officials said that the 100-day action plan initiative got an inspiring start on Tuesday with a record 36,900 citizens joining hands in a spirited rally spanning over 250 km, marking a bold step towards transformation. The official said that products of 280 self-help groups were assembled for display-cum-sales at stalls across ULBs, which generated a revenue of Rs 3.94 lakh. From local residents to public representatives, bureaucrats, SHGs, NGOs, etc everyone marched together with a mission 'cleaner, healthier and more resilient urban areas'.
The activities proposed to be taken up in the ULBs include campaign launch and IEC drive focusing on awareness through media rallies, door-to-door outreach, de-siltation of storm water drains and removal of debris to prevent water-logging, waste segregation and c omposting at household level, supported by audits and community outreach, updation of water connections and taking up Bhuvan Survey for improved municipal records and enforcement, improving water quality and ensuring mosquito control through chlorination, oil balls, and gambusia fish release, launching Vana mahotsavam, avenue plantation, and Shramadanam, development of at least 1 junction, park and inauguration, training programs for staff and newly formed ULBs to enhance capacity, kalajatha activities, competitions and waste-to-art exhibits.
The official said that the plan was a strategic step toward building cleaner, healthier, and more resilient urban areas. By combining infrastructure, innovation, and involvement, it would reinforce Telangana's commitment to sustainable urban development through a people-first approach.

Unlike conventional reconnaissance platforms, ISTAR is not restricted to data collection it offers a more comprehensive analysis and understanding of the battlefield situation. It analyses the data and gives it in real-time using advanced analytics and artificial intelligence to frontline units and command centers with superfast precision. Why Is ISTAR a Strategic Imperative? In the era where modern warfare is rapidly evolving, information superiority is the most crucial factor that can even define victory. ISTAR aircraft can give an edge by providing real-time intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition. Its advanced sensors can provide crucial data to commanders on which they can make precise decisions in complex battle environments. In the volatile geopolitical environment where the Indian Air Force operates, intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance (ISTAR) aircraft are crucial for tracking enemy activity, identifying key targets, and guiding long-range, precise attacks. The ISTAR Program Under Rs 10,000 crore ISTAR project, the IAF will acquire three aircraft from foreign aviation manufacturers most likely from Boeing or Bombardier. Once acquired, these aircraft will be loaded with indigenous sensors and electronic systems which will be developed by Centre for Airborne Systems of the DRDO. India's defence technology has significantly advanced due to the successful testing of these new systems. The IAF is set to receive three advanced ISTAR aircraft by the year 2030. Odisha's infrastructure plans in eco-zones to be reviewed by CEC
BHUBANESWAR: Odisha government's plans for tourism and infrastructure projects in sensitive zones of critical protected areas (PAs) of the state have drawn the notice of the Supreme Court-appointed Central Empowered Committee (CEC). The panel has now called for a meeting and asked chief secretary Manoj Ahuja to discuss crucial tourism and bridge infrastructure projects as well as the matter pertaining to eco sensitive zone (ESZ) finalisation. The meeting is scheduled on July 17 at New Delhi. Sources said issues of governance and execution model for tourism infrastructure which have a bearing on sanctuaries, national parks, tiger reserve areas and Ramsar sites will be taken up by the CEC. Similarly, tourism projects requiring forest and ESZ clearances and stake of the Tourism department in ESZ finalisation will also be discussed. The SC-constituted panel has also asked the principal chief conservator of forests (general), PCCF (wildlife) and Secretary, Tourism department to be take part in the meeting which will specifically discuss two critical infrastructure projects in the state. One of the contentious projects is the proposed construction of a two-lane national highway over Chilika lagoon by the National Highways Authority of India. The 7.740 km project, estimated at a cost of around Rs 526.08 crore, had prompted the expert appraisal committee (EAC) of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) to seek a cost-benefit analysis from the state government.
