Teen killed, Detroit police officer injured in shooting and more top stories
A Detroit Department of Transportation bus driver is accused of stabbing a passenger after an argument between the two men.
Troy A. Lincoln, 55, of West Bloomfield, is charged with assault with intent to murder, assault with intent to do great bodily harm and felonious assault.
The alleged stabbing happened at around 6:30 p.m. on July 1 in the area of Gratiot Avenue and East Seven Mile Road.
Wayne County prosecutors allege that Lincoln and a 25-year-old Warren man got into an argument that escalated with Lincoln pulling out a knife and stabbing the passenger several times.
The passenger suffered lacerations to the left side of his abdomen and the right side of his face, according to authorities. He was treated at an area hospital.
Lincoln was arrested a short time later following an investigation by Detroit police.
Lincoln was arraigned Friday and given a $50,000 bond. He returns to court on July 11 for a probable cause hearing.

Man sentenced to 52 years for 2022 rape, kidnapping
Jul. 5—A former Bernalillo County firefighter convicted of sexual assault and other charges was sentenced Thursday to 52 years in prison. A 2nd Judicial District Court jury on June 21 convicted Celso Montano, 49, of kidnapping, three counts of criminal sexual penetration, one count of aggravated battery leading to great bodily harm, and intimidation of a witness via telephone. District Judge Cindy Leos sentenced Montano to the maximum allowed under law. On April 30, 2022, Montano kidnapped and confined a woman with the intent of inflicting sexual harm against her, according to a Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court criminal complaint. Montano sexually abused the woman with a metal object, it said. Montano harassed the victim for two years after and threatened her or offered to give her "anything of value" to keep her from reporting him to law enforcement officers, the complaint said. This is the first time Montano has been convicted of rape, but it was one of several such cases filed against him since the 1990s. Court records show at least one case against Montano was dropped due to prosecutors missing deadlines. Two others were dismissed because the women who accused him died before trial.

A PSL official has been arrested and charged with domestic violence after allegedly slapping a 27-year-old woman during an argument at their Kempton Park apartment on 28 June. However, the alleged victim has denied the incident and claims she doesn't know the manager, despite police confirming the assault case. A top PSL official is embroiled in a domestic violence scandal following an assault case opened against him by a 27-year-old woman believed to be his girlfriend. The official allegedly slapped the woman, whose name is known to City Press, after an argument at their apartment in Kempton Park on 28 June. City Press understands that the official was arrested on Friday, days after the matter was reported to the Sebenza Police Station. A police officer close to the case, who asked to remain anonymous because he is not allowed to speak to the media, said the official was being held at the Modderbee Correctional Centre until his first court appearance on Monday. They live together in an apartment and when the argument took place, the woman alleges that he physically assaulted her by slapping her. She declared in her police statement that this was the first time he ever hit her since their relationship began. Police source Police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi confirmed the case and that he would be appearing in court on Monday. 'That is a common assault case related to domestic violence. The suspect is expected to appear in court on 7 July.' City Press could not reach the official for comment, but the woman denied that the incident took place or that she had opened a criminal case. She even disputed knowing the official: 'This is the first [time] I've heard of it.' However, according to the police source, the woman has been trying to have the charges dropped.
