MSU launches week-long celebration on NEP 2020
The event will run from Monday through Aug 2.
The conclave aims to reflect on MSU's progress under NEP 2020.
The inaugural session on Monday will be held at MSU's Faculty of Family and Community Sciences and will be attended by MSU's in-charge vice-chancellor Dhanesh Patel and registrar K M Chudasama.
The opening ceremony will include a special address on "NEP 2020 – Achievements and Road Map of MSU", highlighting key initiatives such as the introduction of four-year undergraduate programmes, establishment of Indian Knowledge Systems cells, interdisciplinary curriculum reforms, and adoption of digital learning tools across faculties.
"Five years after the adoption of NEP 2020, MSU stands at the forefront of educational transformation in India. This week-long programme is not just a celebration, but a reaffirmation of our university's role in shaping citizens who are competent, creative, and committed to nation-building," said Patel.
"Through collaborative reforms across faculties, we took significant steps toward outcome-based education, integrating knowledge systems, and institutionalising a culture of innovation and inclusion," said Chudasama.

DU's U-Special buses may return with new upgrades
New Delhi: Chief minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday announced the relaunch of the U-Special bus service around Delhi University, reviving a transport option once central to student life. Sood called on colleges to participate in the 'Kude Se Azadi' (Freedom from Garbage) campaign, suggesting that each college adopt a nearby area and turn it into a cleanliness model. He also promised significant upgrades to university infrastructure. "You'll soon see smart classrooms and modern labs." Reinforcing the govt's commitment, he added, "Our priority is to democratise education — to ensure it is accessible and equitable across Delhi." Singh encouraged students to adopt a solution-oriented mindset. US tariff hike threatens Kerala's export economy, says state finance minister
Thiruvananthapuram: Finance minister K N Balagopal warned that the 25% tariff imposed by the United States on Indian products could seriously hurt Kerala's economy. The higher tariff would badly impact exports of key products like marine foods, spices, and tea, he said. Balagopal said the US-led trade war with countries worldwide would cause a major crisis in global trade and economy, hitting India hard. He made these remarks while inaugurating a seminar on 'Post-Covid Development Challenges and Response: Through the lens of Kerala budgets,' organized by Gulati Institute of Finance and Taxation. He added that developed countries like the US and Australia are pressuring the Union govt to open up the markets for agricultural products, milk and milk-based products. Reports suggest that Australia can sell milk in India at a much cheaper rate (Rs 30/litre). If cheaper milk floods Kerala's market, local milk producers could face serious difficulties. He criticized the campaign that Kerala is in a debt trap and its total debt has mounted to Rs 6 trillion. Rahul-Tejashwi ‘yatra' against SIR postponed
Patna: The much-publicised "Vote Adhikar Yatra," which was to be jointly launched by leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Bihar assembly opposition leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav , has been postponed due to "unavoidable reasons". The yatra, originally scheduled for Aug, was intended to raise awareness about voting rights and "expose" the functioning of the Election Commission. "Information was issued to the media on Monday regarding the 'Vote Adhikar Yatra' programme, but now the yatra has been postponed due to unavoidable reasons," read a letter issued by RJD state principal general secretary Ranvijay Sahu. "This notice should be considered void until the announcement of a new date," the letter added. However, Tejashwi clarified that the decision to defer the yatra followed the death of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha founder and former Jharkhand CM Shibu Soren. "We had to reschedule the yatra programme due to the death of the former Jharkhand CM," Tejashwi told reporters on Tuesday, adding that a revised schedule would be announced soon.
