I always get the 'heatwave horn' – it's the same every summer

As I opened the front door, my jaw dropped.
Standing in my foyer was a gorgeous man wearing nothing but a towel – which, seconds later, he let fall to the floor. I was rendered speechless by the sight of his sun-kissed skin and taut muscles, but kept my eyes firmly above his waist.
'I just wanted to come upstairs and say hi,' he said with a cheeky smile.
Lawrence* and I had met just an hour earlier down by the pool in the communal area. I asked if I could join him in the water and he happily welcomed my company.
We flirted wildly as I learned that he's in town on holiday and staying in my building. Around 20 minutes later, having organised to meet a friend for lunch and in need of a shower before I did, I excused myself.

I smiled and gently nodded – a silent version of giving my consent – and he leaned in for a hot, passionate kiss.

I'm not actually all that surprised by my actions because I've always been a sucker for a good combination of sunshine and sex. When the heatwave horn hits, there's no telling what I might do.
And I'm not alone in feeling this way.

I'm not saying the rise in temperature – which can affect your hormones and boost your senses – was solely to blame for my poor decision-making on this occasion. But it definitely played a part.

Most of the time, I welcome the heatwave horn. But it's important to not give it too much power – especially given Britain isn't exactly known for having a high number of sunshine days. More Trending
