Mavericks coach Jason Kidd and Mark Cuban speak highly of their star rookie Cooper Flagg
According to reputed media outlet The Athletic's Kelly Iko and Jared Weiss, Dallas Mavericks coach Jason Kidd and Mark Cuban have full faith in their newly minted star Cooper Flagg. The 18-year-old basketball athlete has been generating waves even before he was drafted by Dallas Mavericks for the upcoming
NBA
season. As reported by Jared Weis, Jason Kidd said,
"We're looking at being unselfish, playing hard and playing the game the right way.
When you talk about stock, we're looking at those things. We're not worried about makes and misses. Just making the right play. Oh, he's gonna fit right in. He's gonna be fine. He'll be perfect."
Whereas Mark Cuban mentioned
"He's big. People don't realize that. And he's not just tall; he's thick. And he's only 18—he can still be growing and could end up being 7 feet tall for all we know. But he's not some skinny, wiry guy. He's physical, athletic.

Might not be the quickest guy in the NBA, but for his size, he's going to be up there in that combination."
During the recent face-off against Spurs, Flagg went on to grab four rebounds along with perfectly handling the ball. He even shot 13 free throws while playing through contact. During his debut game against the Los Angeles Lakers, Cooper Flagg said,
'I think I've been solid. I'm exhausted. I'm not used to bringing the ball up like that.
I had somebody on my hip every time I brought the ball up the court 94 feet. I think I did a solid job of bringing it up against pressure and setting up different actions."
At 6'9", his blend of size, athleticism, and ball-handling ability is bound to create major problems for opposing defenses. Mark Cuban also noted that Flagg is stepping into a far better situation than most top draft picks. With established stars like Anthony Davis, Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson, and D'Angelo Russell on the roster, the Mavericks are clearly aiming to contend right away in the competitive Western Conference.
