Motorcyclist killed in collision with 4WD in Asajaya

KOTA SAMARAHAN (June 12): A 27-year-old man was killed in a road accident this afternoon after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle at KM8 Jalan Kota Samarahan–Sadong Jaya in Asajaya.
Kota Samarahan District Police Chief Superintendent Damataries Lautin said the incident occurred at around 3.05pm, when the victim was believed to have lost control of his motorcycle and veered into the opposite lane.
The motorcycle collided head-on with a 4WD travelling from Asajaya towards Kuching.
'The victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 3.55pm by medical personnel. His body has been sent to the Sarawak General Hospital Forensic Unit for a post-mortem,' Damataries said in a statement.
At the time of the crash, the weather was clear, the road was dry, and the two-way dual carriageway was in normal condition.
The driver of the 4WD sustained only minor injuries, with bruises on his left arm. His vehicle suffered front-end damage, while the motorcycle was severely damaged.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving causing death.
Damataries added that both vehicles have been sent to the Kota Samarahan Traffic Police Station for further investigation, and efforts are underway to locate independent witnesses. 4WD accident asajaya crash fatal motorcycle

"Three pupils and a teacher were taken to Serdang Hospital for treatment," he said in a statement today. Farid said the case is being investigated under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving, which carries a penalty of up to five years' jail and a fine between RM5,000 and RM15,000. A one-minute dashcam video, believed to have been recorded by a parent whose child was on the bus, has since gone viral on social media.

Seri Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said the incident occurred at KM30.4 of the E22 Senai-Desaru Expressway at around 10am on Saturday (Aug 2). 'The male victim was travelling from the E22 Senai-Desaru Expressway heading towards Desaru. "He lost control of his motorcycle before hitting the road divider along the left side of the road," he said, adding that the victim died on the spot due to severe internal injuries. He added that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving. He reminded road users to remain patient and always adhere to traffic laws and regulations. Witnesses with information about the incident are also urged to contact the police at 07-3864222 to assist in investigation.
