The PA news agency is in the Welsh capital along with tens of thousands of the Britpop band's fans soaking up the atmosphere.
Some fans gathered at and took pictures of the Wonder Wall – a mural by Welsh artist Nathan Wyburn made out of 3,000 black and white bucket hats depicting Liam and Noel Gallagher.
Tonight's gig has been 16 years in the making. Many fans feared it would never come because of Liam and Noel's stormy relationship.
And the wait has been so long that some of the band's younger fans are seeing them for the first time on this tour.
With a penchant for parkas and bucket hats, many fans have been eager to join in with the band's distinct sense of fashion and style.
Some even took it a step further by imitating Liam's look completely.
Fans have come from far and wide to see their idols in Cardiff.
Huge sums of money have already been made from ticket sales alone. And this will be bolstered further when sales of merchandise are factored in.

They were supported by Cast and Richard Ashcroft, who were tasked with warming the audience up before the brothers took to the stage for the first time in 16 years. But one fan in the crowd was caught on camera having to use the app Shazam to find out what a hugely popular hit from the 90s actually was - leaving some furious commenters on social media wondering why she bought a ticket. A TikTok account dedicated to both Oasis and Richard Ashcroft shared a video of The Verve frontman performing the band's biggest hit, Bitter Sweet Symphony, during the opening night of the tour on Friday. The video then pans across the crowd, most of whom were singing along to the well-known track, before settling on one woman who had the Shazam app open on her phone. Shazam can tell you the name of a song just by listening to it and is widely used by people to find details about tracks playing in shops or even on adverts. But social media users were left baffled at the woman's apparent lack of knowledge of the 1997 hit, especially given her presence at an Oasis gig. Several even referred to Bitter Sweet Symphony as so well-known that it should be the "national anthem" of the UK. The TikTok account wrote on the video: "Did they just Shazam the national anthem?" And they added in the caption: "Imagine not knowing the greatest song of all time." According to The Sun on Sunday, the famous duo skipped partying after their first night in the Welsh city and were driven away from the Principality Stadium at approximately 10.30pm. A source told the publication: "The atmosphere was absolutely electric and Liam and Noel were delighted with the first night. They were a bit shell-shocked." They added: "It went better than anyone could have imagined. The lead up has all been carefully orchestrated, as everyone knows how delicate and fragile Liam and Noel's relationship is." The insider close to the band continued: "They don't want to over-expose themselves to each other. Having separate residences is the best option so they can relax in their own space." They explained: "They stayed in separate locations outside the city around half an hour away from each other." "They're happy families at the moment and they want to keep it that way. Liam has been off the booze for a while and sounds better than ever," they added. According to the source, Liam is determined to get eight hours sleep a night and is steering clear of alcohol and partying. Fans were left in awe as the band, who were once synonymous with the stereotypical rock and roll lifestyle, belted out their iconic hits including Wonderwall, Stand By Me, Live Forever and Half The World Away. And it seems a contributing factor in Liam's clean living lifestyle is his partner Debbie Gwyther. The source continued: "Debbie protects him from all the hype so he doesn't get carried away. They've swapped out Guinness for zero per cent alcohol beers and keep the vibe backstage as chilled as possible." Partying in the crows were Noel's daughter Anais, 25 and her mum Meg Matthews, 59. Liam's sons Lennon, 25 and Gene, 24, were also at Friday's gig. It has been reported that the Cardiff gig was emotional for their children who never thought the day would arrive when they would see their dad on stage as Oasis. And Anais was reportedly a "driving force in helping to reunite the brothers who at the time showed no intention of making the peace. The Mirror has contacted reps for Oasis for a comment.
