Limca Records ₹2800 Crore in 2024, Powers Coca-Cola India's Sparkling Growth
Since its inception in 1971, Limca has been a driving force in strengthening the company's sparkling portfolio with demand soaring across both urban and rural markets. Today, the brand is witnessing strong double-digit growth in key states such as Delhi, Punjab and Haryana, gaining share across both traditional trade and emerging retail formats.
Central to Limca's enduring success are its innovative brand campaigns that keep the brand contemporary while celebrating its legacy. In 2025, Limca ushered in a new era of refreshment with a campaign featuring Triptii Dimri. With a fresh take on Limca's signature Lime 'n' Lemoni refreshment, the campaign invited consumers to rediscover the charm and revitalizing rush that only a Limca moment can deliver.
Vinay Nair, Vice President, Franchise Operations, Developing Markets, Coca-Cola India and Southwest Asia, said 'Our goal has always been to build brands that go beyond the product – brands that become part of daily life and collective memory. And Limca's story is one of resilience, reinvention, and a pursuit of excellence. Our success is anchored in a simple but powerful playbook – innovating products that cater to evolving consumer needs, expanding distribution to both urban and rural India, and executing marketing campaigns that connect passion and purpose. We are excited to continue this momentum and deliver long-term value to millions of our consumers.'
As India's lifestyle evolves, so does Limca. In 2024, Limca entered the advanced hydration category introducing Limca GlucoCharge, a functional beverage enriched with glucose and electrolytes, designed to meet the needs of today's active consumers. The launch campaign, featuring Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra, inspired millions with its message of perseverance that resonate with both athletes and everyday heroes.
This commitment to excellence is not limited to the sports field. It forms the very ethos of Limca – a brand that has always believed in recognizing and celebrating extraordinary Indian achievements. This belief is embodied in the Limca Book of Records, launched in 1990 as an extension of the brand's philosophy. Whether it's sporting milestones or artistic achievements, the Book continues to inspire a nation to dream bigger.
As Limca continues to innovate and connect with new generations, its legacy as India's most loved lemon-lime beverage remains stronger than ever, driving growth and refreshing millions across the country.

Social Security phasing out paper checks as Trump pushes payment overhaul
The Trump administration's effort to modernize federal payment systems is coming to Social Security, which will start phasing out paper Social Security checks. The Social Security Administration (SSA) announced in mid-July that it would no longer issue paper checks starting on Sept. 30. Advertisement The agency noted in a blog post announcing the move that electronic funds transfers (EFTs) get payments to beneficiaries faster than paper checks, while also providing increased security against fraud and saving the federal government millions of dollars annually – as paper checks cost about 50 cents each to issue while EFTs are less than 15 cents. While the SSA is looking to transition as many beneficiaries as possible to direct deposit or a prepaid debit card designed for federal benefit payments, known as the Direct Express card, the agency does plan to continue issuing paper checks under some limited circumstances. Most Social Security beneficiaries have already transitioned away from paper checks, though the SSA says it's working to notify those who are receiving paper checks about the upcoming changes and how to prepare. 3 The SSA said that they will no longer issue paper checks starting on Sept. 30. MargJohnsonVA – Advertisement 'Less than one percent of Social Security Administration currently receive paper checks. SSA is proactively contacting those beneficiaries to alert them about the change and the process to enroll in direct deposit or receive Direct Express cards. Where a beneficiary has no other means to receive payment, we will continue to issue paper checks,' a Social Security spokesperson told FOX Business. At the time of the agency's announcement in July, the SSA said that in addition to reaching out to beneficiaries receiving paper checks directly, it will include an insert with all benefit checks that explains how a beneficiary can transition to electronic payments with the assistance of SSA technicians. 3 Donald Trump delivers remarks before signing an executive order to create a White House Olympics task force to handle security and other issues related to the LA 2028 summer Olympic games, August 5, 2025. REUTERS SSA's announcement that paper checks are being phased out also noted the security concerns with mailing checks to beneficiaries. Advertisement 'Paper checks are 16 times more likely to be lost or stolen compared to electronic payments, increasing the risk of fraud. Electronic payments provide a safer, more secure way to receive benefits,' SSA wrote. The electronic payment push is being pursued under an executive order issued by President Donald Trump in March, as well as federal policies that predated the second Trump administration to encourage electronic payments. 3 The majority of Social Security beneficiaries have already moved away from paper checks. visuals6x – SSA noted in its mid-July announcement that beneficiaries may update their payment options at any time online through their personal Social Security account. Wall Street stocks end lower as rally peters out
Wall Street stocks fell Tuesday as a rally ran out of steam following lackluster economic data, while investors monitor ongoing trade talks ahead of new tariff hikes set to take effect later this week. US President Donald Trump told CNBC he plans fresh tariffs on imported pharmaceuticals and semiconductors. Trump also said he expects to raise the US tariff on Indian imports due to the country's purchases of Russian oil. The statements come before a separate set of tariff hikes goes into force on dozens of economies later this week. Swiss officials traveled to Washington Tuesday to try to strike a last-minute deal. Investors also digested an index of US services activity that came in at 50.1 percent, just barely in growth mode as companies contend with weaker hiring conditions and increased pricing pressure. The report comes on the heels of jobs data last Friday that pointed to slowing in the labor market. On the positive side, "a weaker economy could mean more rate cuts from the Fed," said Adam Sarhan of 50 Park Investments. After opening higher, US indices fell into negative territory, with the S&P 500 ending down 0.5 percent. European markets ended mixed, with Paris dipping into the red, while oil prices retreated further on worries about the demand outlook. Swiss leaders flew to Washington on Tuesday in a last-ditch effort to avoid a hefty 39-percent tariff. Meanwhile, the European Union on Tuesday announced the suspension of its retaliatory tariffs on US goods worth 93 billion euros ($107 billion) after Brussels struck a deal with Washington last month. Among individual companies, Palantir Technologies jumped 7.9 percent after reporting its first quarter with more than $1 billion in revenues. The data analysis and artificial intelligence company also raised its full-year revenues forecast. Pfizer was another big winner after earnings as the drugmaker reported a big increase in profits to $2.9 billion behind higher sales of Covid-19 products and lower expenses. Shares jumped 5.2 percent. Diageo, the maker of Guinness stout and Smirnoff Vodka, rose 4.9 percent after raising its cost-savings targets following a sharp drop profits to the hit from US tariffs. - Key figures at around 2100 GMT - New York - Dow: DOWN 0.1 percent at 44,111.74 (close) New York - S&P 500: DOWN 0.5 percent at 6,299.19 (close) New York - Nasdaq Composite: DOWN 0.7 percent at 20,916.55 (close) London - FTSE 100: UP 0.2 percent at 9,142.73 (close) Paris - CAC 40: DOWN 0.1 percent at 7,621.04 (close) Frankfurt - DAX: UP 0.4 percent at 23,846.07 (close) Tokyo - Nikkei 225: UP 0.6 percent at 40,549.54 (close) Hong Kong - Hang Seng Index: UP 0.7 percent at 24,902.53 (close) Shanghai - Composite: UP 1.0 percent at 3,617.60 (close) Euro/dollar: UP at $1.1582 from $1.1571 on Monday Pound/dollar: UP at $1.3294 from $1.3285 Dollar/yen: UP at 147.55 yen from 147.09 yen Euro/pound: DOWN at 87.01 pence from 87.10 pence West Texas Intermediate: DOWN 1.7 percent at $65.16 per barrel Brent North Sea Crude: DOWN 1.7 percent at $67.64 per barrel burs-jmb/st

Simone Biles Makes Herself at Home in Chicago Ahead of NFL Season—After Revealing She and Jonathan Owens Have a House There
Olympic gymnast Simone Biles is flipping her way through multiple luxury trips this summer—but she still found time to show her support for her husband, Jonathan Owens, over the weekend, when she visited their home in Chicago where the NFL star is busy preparing for the upcoming football season. Biles, 28, who recently returned from a girls' trip to the British Virgin Islands, wasted no time in jetting off to the Windy City to attend the Chicago Bears' annual Family Fest event at Soldier Field. Once there, she shared several photos and videos from the event—including a stunning snap of the Chicago skyline, which appears to have been taken from an apartment unit inside a high-rise building, which might well be where the couple are basing themselves for the NFL season. The seven-time gold medalist also shared several images and clips of her husband, whom she wed in 2023, out on the field, including a tongue-in-cheek video of the football pro showing off his juggling skills before starting his official training. Biles proved that she is already very much at home in the Illinois city, revealing that she has secured herself a preferred hairstylist in the area, who she noted 'slayed' her ponytail hairdo for the family-friendly event, which the team hosts each year. The talented athlete, who has competed at three Olympic Games, added two diamond necklaces to her look—including a sweet accessory that spelled out her married name, 'Owens,' in sparkles, before topping the look off with a pair of sunglasses. Ever the jet-setter, Biles apparently did not stay in Chicago for long. She later posted photos and videos from her evening walk with her beloved French bulldog; they appear to have been taken near her home in Spring, TX, which she has owned since 2020. Biles has been based in Texas for much of her life, having resided with her parents, Ron and Nellie, in the state since her childhood. And while she and Owens have committed to a life in Chicago—at least during the NFL season—it's clear that they plan for the Lone Star State to be their home base for many years to come, having started work on a stunning custom-built lakefront mansion near Biles' childhood home in 2023. The gymnast has shared the progress of her mansion on her social media, beginning with the home's basic structure, then moving on to various design details, from the monochrome laundry room to the waterfront infinity pool. The couple's new dwelling, when finished, will offer some special amenities, including a wet bar, game room, home theater, pet spa, and multiple balconies overlooking the water. In October, Biles revealed that work on the property was nearing completion, when she showed off some of the stunning interior decor touches that had been installed. They include a dramatic black-and-white marble backsplash in the kitchen and some quirky patterned tiling in the laundry room. Outside, her images captured the new swimming pool, which overlooks the lake and features a lavish spa. The photos revealed that the pool's foundation had been laid, the structure was almost complete, and it just needed an overhaul of the surrounding space—as well as some water to fill it. More recently, she shared another exciting update: the addition of grass at the front of the home. 'We have grass,' she said while sharing a photo of the lawn on her Instagram Stories, adding a shocked screaming emoji for emphasis. The photo also showed several brick planter beds filled with an array of foliage. The white exterior and black window frames could also be seen, with a flowering tree in the background. Though the grass might not mark the most significant progression in the homebuilding process, its arrival suggests that Biles and Owens' opulent new dwelling might be near completion, just in time for the latter to head to Chicago for preseason training. Owens is preparing to start his second season with the Bears, after signing a two-year contract in 2024. He started his NFL career with the Cardinals in 2018, before moving to the Houston Texans, where he was playing when he and Biles began dating. Though his football success has forced him to bounce around multiple locations over the past three years, Biles has remained his most avid supporter, regularly appearing on the sidelines of his games, more often than not sporting custom merch made in his honor. And it seems this season, she will take that support one step further, noting in May that she and Owens had found a home in Chicago, where they will likely base themselves during the season. In a post shared on her Instagram Stories at the time, Biles said the couple were busy shopping for new cars for their Chicago dwelling, although she gave no details about the property itself. 'Looking at cars today for our Chicago home,' she wrote over an image of the inside of a Porsche showroom. It is unclear if the couple have decided to put down permanent roots in the Windy City by buying a house or if they've opted to rent until the future of Owens' place on the team is confirmed.
