SINGAPORE, June 25 (Bernama) -- A 46-year-old Malaysian woman was arrested on Monday (June 23) for allegedly attempting to smuggle over two kilogrammes (kg) of drugs, including cannabis and 'Ice', worth more than S$142,000 (S$1=RM3.30), into Singapore.
In a joint statement, the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) and Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) said ICA officers discovered two bundles, suspected to contain controlled drugs, concealed beneath the front fairing of the motorcycle ridden by the woman during an enhanced check at Woodlands Checkpoint.

'CNB was promptly alerted, and further checks uncovered a total of seven bundles from the same location,' the statement said on Wednesday.
Authorities said the bundles were later found to contain 1,057 grams (g) of cannabis and 973g of 'Ice'.
The seized drugs could potentially feed the addiction of about 700 abusers for a week. Investigations are ongoing.
Those who import into or export from Singapore more than 250g of methamphetamine or 500g of cannabis may face the death penalty under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1973.

Over 5,000 police personnel on duty for Asean Foreign Ministers' Meeting from July 8 to 11

KUALA LUMPUR: The police have deployed 5,121 personnel to ensure the smooth and safe organisation of the 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting (AMM) and Related Meetings to be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) from July 8 to 11. Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department (KDNKA) director Datuk Seri Azmi Abu Kassim said the PDRM had drawn up a detailed security plan and would be carrying out continuous monitoring to ensure the meeting ran smoothly and in an orderly manner. "The police has taken appropriate measures to ensure high preparedness ahead of this meeting, and the main focus is on the security of VIPs, traffic control and handling emergencies. "This team will also use sophisticated technology such as facial recognition systems and explosives detection to ensure the event runs smoothly," he told Bernama here Thursday (July 3). Azmi said police would combine the forces of various departments and units, including the Kuala Lumpur Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK), Management Department, Federal Reserve Force, Special Operations Unit (UTK), 69 Commando and Special Branch. He stated that, apart from the main meeting location, security controls were also extended to other important areas, including Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and Subang Airport. "Security control will also be implemented at the delegates' accommodation locations and certain zones around the delegation arrival area, which will be gazetted as restricted or semi-restricted areas with limited access given to certain individuals only," he said. Azmi said that to ensure everything runs smoothly, a series of security training and simulations were conducted to strengthen internal and inter-government coordination. According to him, the security training and simulations involved convoy movement training and testing of security systems, such as scanners and e-gates, at the conference location and the delegation's accommodation hotel. – Bernama

Suspicious iPhone 16 Pro Max Promo? Singer Nadeera's Instagram Reportedly Hacked

Whether your social media account is set to private or public, it essentially serves as a digital diary or a space to connect with friends and family. Either way, the last thing you'd want is for someone to hack into your account and exploit it to scam your followers. It's even more troubling if you're a public figure with thousands or even millions of followers, as hackers and scammers are more likely to exploit the account or even just your name for personal gain. That's exactly what appears to have happened to Malaysian singer Nadeera, whose account seems to have been hacked after fans noticed suspicious activity. Here's what happened: Recently, Nadeera had been posting her usual updates on Instagram, including appearances and performances. However, on Wednesday (2nd July), fans began to suspect something was wrong. The singer's account suddenly promoted a suspicious sale offering three iPhone 16 Pro Max units at a cheap price. The caption read: 'Why cheap? Because the cheap redemption that we are holding is a gift and a sign of our gratitude for the profit exceeding the target. Therefore, we are holding this special for our loyal followers and the fastest winners.' If the unusual photo and caption weren't already a red flag, the post was signed off as 'Admin' rather than Nadeera herself – a clear indication that her account had most likely been hacked. The account later posted a similar photo, claiming that one unit had already been sold and that only two iPhone 16 Pro Max units remained, likely an attempt to pressure potential victims into acting quickly before the supposed promotion ended. The comments sections on both posts were also disabled, a clear move to prevent fans from warning others that it was a scam. Following the incident, Nadeera's agency, Rocketfuel Entertainment, issued a statement confirming that her Instagram account had indeed been hacked. They also warned fans not to click on any links related to the alleged iPhone 16 Pro Max promotion. 'We're in the process of retrieving the account. We appreciate all the information fans have provided,' the company wrote. It's truly unfortunate that this has happened to Nadeera, and we hope she regains access to her account soon. If her agency chooses to file a police report, there's also the possibility of taking legal action against the hacker. Sources: Instagram (1)(2)

Kuala Lumpur JPJ director Hamidi Adam said the complaint, which has to be accompanied by photo or video evidence and details of the bus journey to facilitate the investigation, can also be sent via email. A total of 23 express bus passengers were issued compounds for not wearing seat belts, involving 20 locals and three foreigners. - Bernama photo He said it is the responsibility of bus drivers to remind their passengers to wear their seat belts before starting the journey. "This is to improve the level of public transport safety and to reduce the risk of serious injury or death in accidents such as those involving express buses," he told a press conference during a special seat belt operation for express buses and tour buses at the Gombak Toll Plaza last night. Commenting on the operation, he said a total of 23 express bus passengers were issued compounds for not wearing seat belts, involving 20 locals and three foreigners. Hamidi said the excuse given by most of the passengers who were compounded was that they did not know that they had to wear the seat belt while travelling on a bus. He said notices were also issued to two express bus drivers for driving in the right lane and the vehicles not having functioning emergency doors. "A total of 41 express buses and three tour buses were inspected in the operation that began at 8 pm yesterday and ended at midnight," he said. He said that safety in public transportation is a shared responsibility, and that compliance with the law is not merely a regulatory obligation but a reflection of our commitment to valuing human life. "All quarters, whether they are passengers, operators or the enforcement, need to work together in creating a safe and disciplined transport system," he said.
