Atlanta and Decatur police looking for missing man with dementia
Lonnie E. Sterling, 74, was last seen on Saturday at 7 a.m. at 700 Atlanta Ave. in Decatur.
He was wearing a black shirt, dark blue pants, and was using a walking cane.
He is five feet, nine inches tall, weighs approximately 140 lbs., and has short gray hair.
Atlanta police issued a Mattie's Call for Sterling on behalf of Decatur police.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates -- DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Unknown attackers launched a gun and grenade attack on a court building in southeast Iran Saturday, killing six people including a child and wounding 20, state TV reported. The report said security forces killed three of the gunmen in the armed clash in the country's restive southern province of Sistan and Baluchestan. It did not identify any of the victims. State TV said the attack happened in the province's capital city of Zahedan. Police and security forces immediately took control of the site, 1,130 kilometers or 700 miles southeast of the capital, Tehran. A report by the semiofficial Tasnim news agency, believed to be close to security forces, blamed the attack on the militant group Jaish al-Adl, which wants independence for Iran's eastern Sistan and Pakistan's southwestern Baluchistan provinces. The province, bordering Afghanistan and Pakistan, has been the site of occasional deadly clashes involving militant groups, armed drug smugglers and Iranian security forces. In October, an attack on an Iranian police convoy in the province killed at least 10 officers. Sistan and Baluchistan province is one of the least developed parts of Iran. Relations between the predominantly Sunni Muslim residents of the region and Iran's Shiite theocracy have long been strained.

Feds charge SoCal medical workers with interfering in ICE raid
Two staff members from an Ontario surgery center have been charged with allegedly interfering with U.S. immigration officers trying to detain landscapers who ran into the center to escape. Jose de Jesus Ortega, a 38-year-old Highland resident, was arrested Friday morning and is expected to appear in U.S. District Court in Riverside, according to a U.S. attorney's office Central District of California news release. Officials are still looking for the other suspect, Danielle Nadine Davila, 33, of Corona. Both are charged with assaulting a federal officer and conspiracy to prevent by force and intimidation a federal officer from discharging his duties, authorities said. According to video obtained by KTLA-TV, staffers at the Ontario Advanced Surgical Center earlier this month told two agents to leave because they didn't have a warrant to go onto the property. The agents with Immigration and Customs Enforcement were trying to detain 30-year-old Denis Guillen-Solis and two other landscapers who had been working outside and ran into the surgical center when the agents showed up. In the video, Guillen-Solis is shown holding onto the doorway at the surgical center and asking the agents to present identification. The agents then pulled Guillen-Solis from the doorway and detained him. 'The illegal alien arrested inside the surgery center was not a patient. He ran inside for cover and these defendants attempted to block his apprehension by assaulting our agents," said U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli in a statement. According to an affidavit, the two ICE agents wore government-issued equipment, including vests and were using unmarked government-operated vehicles when they conducted their operations. The agents followed a truck with three men inside and approached them after the men exited the truck in the parking lot of the surgery center, according to the release. Two of the men ran away and one of them, an alleged undocumented immigrant from Honduras, was detained near the surgery center's front entrance and tried to pull away, causing the ICE officer to fall to the ground. A medical staffer helped the man off the ground and pulled him away from the officer, according to the news release. The man went into the surgery center and was chased by the ICE agent, who eventually stopped him. The incident occurred amid an extraordinary immigration enforcement effort by the Trump administration in Southern California. Florida boater tried to kill wife by throwing her overboard after his line snapped on fishing trip — but she clung to boat and survived
The fishing line snapped — and so did he. A Florida boater tried to kill his wife and dump her body at sea after being set off by a snapped line during a fishing trip — but the bloodied victim clung to the back of the boat and was dragged to shore alive, according to cops. Douglas Naeher, 60, and his unidentified wife of three years took their boat out 33 miles off the coast of Bean Point on Sunday. Advertisement The husband appeared terse and angry when they pushed off from their private dock at their Holmes Beach pad, the victim told the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, according to court documents. Naeher untied the rope and zoomed off, seemingly leaving his wife to die at sea — but returned to get her after seeing another boat in the distance, the victim told cops. When she climbed back on board, Naeher repeatedly punched her in the head and then stomped on her head with both feet multiple times when she crumpled to the deck, she said. The battered wife said she played dead to avoid further wrath, but Naeher continued his assault — dragging her by the hair to the rear of the boat where he attempted to strangle and drown her in the water, court docs said. The unidentified woman interlocked her feet around a ladder attached to the rear of the vessel, allowing her to trail the boat while struggling for breath, she told cops. Advertisement Eventually, she was able to climb back onto the boat using the ladder when Naeher made an unexpected stop. However, the heartless hubby noticed her battered body, punched and stomped on her some more, and then pushed her back overboard, according to court docs. For a second time, the woman clung to the back of the boat, this time mooring herself by the ankle using a line dangling off the back of the ship. The 60-year-old proceeded to shore and docked his boat, unaware that he had dragged his bloodied intended victim back to their Holmes Beach home. The intrepid survivor was able to pull herself onboard a third time while the boat docked and swiftly fled from her husband's clutches and towards the Holmes Beach Police Department. She was treated at Blake Hospital for injuries, including a right eye swollen completely shut, multiple contusions, bruises on her neck and arms, and a severe concussion. Naeher was arrested on Monday and is charged with attempted first-degree murder, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
