Telly fans have been left stunned after Australian Survivor host Jonathan LaPaglia revealed he's been booted from the show.
The fan favourite – affectionately known as JLP – broke the news on Instagram with a cheeky AI video showing himself being KO'd by a giant boxing glove, joking he'd been 'blindsided' by the brutal decision.
JLP, who's fronted the series for 11 seasons, said he never saw the axe coming when he was told by bosses that they were 'going in a different direction' for next year's season.
He wrote: "Australian Survivor has seen some of the most epic blindsides over the last 10 years, but this one might just be the craziest of them all… because it happened to me."
He told followers that without a hidden immunity idol in his back pocket, 'I have to snuff my own torch and send myself home.'
He continued: "I received a call from the Network thanking me for all my hard work and dedication to the show but for next season they are 'going in a different direction.'"
But it's not the end of his Survivor journey just yet – JLP confirmed he'll still appear on the Australia v The World edition, filmed late last year and expected to premiere this July.
And in a move that's already splitting fans, Daily Mail reports that David Genat, a Survivor legend known as the 'Golden God', is tipped to take over as host.
David, who first hit screens on Champions v Contenders II in 2019 and later won All Stars in 2020, has since starred on The Celebrity Apprentice, hosted Rush and just scooped a jaw-dropping £4.5 million prize on Deal or No Deal Island in the US.
JLP added: "Ratings had dipped a bit recently and they wanted to do something drastic to shake things up. So for the first time ever this is not a tribe swap, but a HOST SWAP®️ Yes, you read that right."
Amazon Prime cancels beloved drama despite show having two-season order and furious fans vow to boycott streamer
"I have loved and will dearly miss the immensely talented crew, all the crafty players and our loyal sassy audience. I'm a huge fan of this incredible game, always have been, always will be.
"(Ps. Whoever said a blindside is the most humane way to put someone down is an idiot. It hurts like a b****!)"
Viewers reckon it just won't be the same without him as his post was instantly flooded with comments from gutted fans and former contestants, branding the brutal axe a 'huge mistake'.
Nick Iadanza wrote: 'Actually devastated! You are Australian Survivor and we are all so grateful to have had you leading it for players and fans alike.'

Jordie Hansen added: 'No way! It's going to be hard to imagine the show without you mate. An actual living legend'.
Logan Johannisen penned: "Can confirm blindsides sting. Totally devastated with this news. Thank you for being apart of my survivor journey and your endless ball jokes. Will not be the same without you, JLP."
Former winner Kristie Bennett said: 'Talk about brutal! We have all been completely robbed. You made this show with the players from the ground up. Always an icon!'
Australian Survivor is available to watch in the UK on Amazon Prime.

Laura Anderson opens up on her parenting struggle with daughter Bonnie

Radio and TV personality Laura Anderson has opened up to her social media followers admitting she is 'struggling' as she experiences the 'hardest' week of parenting so far. Laura Anderson has opened up revealing that she is struggling with her 22 month old daughter Bonnie. The radio star uploaded an honest and heartfelt update on social media saying this has been her "hardest week of parenthood so far." The Scots influencer admitted she's trying to find her feet as a mother to a nearly two year old in today's society, comparing her parenting skills to her parents in the 80s and 90s as she struggles with ' gentle parenting.' ‌ Laura took to Instagram sharing a series of snaps and videos of her week, including a trip to the beach with Bonnie and her mum and snaps of Bonnie enjoying a day at the circus with her boyfriend, footballer Clarke Robertson. ‌ The 36-year-old opened up in the caption, as she wrote: "These may be images of love, laughter and core memories being made recently but the truth behind the smiles is - I'm struggling." "This has been the hardest week of parenthood so far for me. Bonnie is coming up for 22 months and a lot has changed and keeps changing. I don't know who my daughter is some days, I don't recognise her which has led to my dip in confidence communicating and or disciplining my own child (especially in public)," she admitted. She continued, diving into the world of gentle parenting: "I'm scared of responding in the wrong way, I'm scared of making a mistake because what if it teaches her long lasting bad behaviours?! And let's be honest if you grew up in the 80s/90s like me, gentle parenting didn't exist. We got smacked (no offence to my parents) and now it's illegal." "So I guess you could say I'm trying to find my place as a mother somewhere in between." ‌ "We also talk about the 'juggle' but It's so much more than that. It's the responsibility of choosing a priority every second of the day because we simply can't do it all. I love my child but this is inevitably the hardest 'job' I've ever had (and I've had a lot of jobs)." The social media star concluded the post in a positive light, revealing: "My new mantra though, is- 'show me how good it can get' So without wishing my daughter's childhood away or those precious bonding turning point/learning curve moments. I hope 'this' ie tantrums…too shall pass." Laura shares daughter Bonnie with ex-boyfriend Gary Lucy, and has regularly spoke about the struggles of single parenting. Laura and Gary split before Bonnie was even born, with the star labelling him as a "deadbeat dad" after revealing he barely sees his young daughter. ‌ Fans were quick to take to the comments showing their support, and praising Laura for being so open. One fan simply stated: "We're all wingin' it," alongside a red heart emoji. Whilst another expressed: "I hear you and applaud you for sharing," and a third shared: "Love how genuine and honest you are Laura. Parenthood certainly ain't all plain sailing but you've got this beautiful mama, even if it feels like you don't sometimes, that's a normal part of parenthood but you do n you're such a great mammy to beautiful Bonnie."
