Jim Cramer on Shake Shack: 'Terrific Company With a Stock That Took a Real Header'

Shake Shack Inc. (NYSE:SHAK) is one of the stocks that Jim Cramer spoke about. Cramer mentioned the stock during the episode and said: 'Or what about Shake Shack? Terrific company with a stock that took a real header today, down 14%. As I go over the conference call, I came across this fly in the ointment, 'The majority of the commodity situation is in beef, and obviously we sell a lot of beef.' Boom.' Photo by jason briscoe on Unsplash Shake Shack (NYSE:SHAK) operates and licenses restaurants providing a menu of burgers, chicken, hot dogs, fries, shakes, frozen custard, and beverages. Cramer mentioned the company in a January episode of Squawk on the Street and commented: '[how market viewed ex-Mag 7 on the day of the sell off] I mean, it is interesting, by the way, that Rob Lynch moved over to Shake Shack, and he's done a great job. But I will say that not the right day to ring the opening bell, in the sense of its line of focus. But a good sense that he's brought the company to a growth pattern that's far in excess of we thought it was going to have. He, Papa John's, turnaround guy.' Since the above comment, SHAK stock is up 1.5%. While we acknowledge the potential of SHAK as an investment, we believe certain AI stocks offer greater upside potential and carry less downside risk. Noodles (NDLS) To Report Earnings Tomorrow: Here Is What To Expect

Casual restaurant chain Noodles & Company (NASDAQ:NDLS) will be announcing earnings results this Wednesday afternoon. Here's what to expect. Noodles met analysts' revenue expectations last quarter, reporting revenues of $123.8 million, up 2% year on year. It was a slower quarter for the company, with a significant miss of analysts' EBITDA estimates and a significant miss of analysts' EPS estimates. Is Noodles a buy or sell going into earnings? Read our full analysis here, it's free. This quarter, analysts are expecting Noodles's revenue to grow 3.5% year on year to $131.9 million, improving from the 1.8% increase it recorded in the same quarter last year. Adjusted loss is expected to come in at -$0.06 per share. The majority of analysts covering the company have reconfirmed their estimates over the last 30 days, suggesting they anticipate the business to stay the course heading into earnings. Noodles has missed Wall Street's revenue estimates six times over the last two years. Looking at Noodles's peers in the modern fast food segment, some have already reported their Q2 results, giving us a hint as to what we can expect. Shake Shack delivered year-on-year revenue growth of 12.6%, beating analysts' expectations by 0.9%, and Wingstop reported revenues up 12%, topping estimates by 0.5%. Shake Shack traded down 20.7% following the results while Wingstop was up 29.7%. Read our full analysis of Shake Shack's results here and Wingstop's results here. Debates over possible tariffs and corporate tax adjustments have raised questions about economic stability in 2025. While some of the modern fast food stocks have shown solid performance in this choppy environment, the group has generally underperformed, with share prices down 6.3% on average over the last month. Noodles is up 14% during the same time and is heading into earnings with an average analyst price target of $2.83 (compared to the current share price of $0.90). Shake Shack opening new Irvine location, will donate share of proceeds to Second Harvest

Say cheese! Popular cheeseburger and milkshake concept Shake Shack will open a new location at Tustin Marketplace in Irvine on Aug. 7 at 10 a.m. with a pledge to donate a portion of the day's proceeds to Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. 'Shake Shack inherently understands the importance of feeding people, and we're so grateful for their continued support of our mission to provide dignified, equitable and consistent access to nutritious food to those in Orange County,' stated Claudia Bonilla Keller, chief executive officer of Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County, in a news release. The new shack will be the 53rd location for the brand in Southern California and the second in the city of Irvine. Shake Shack was started by restaurant industry giant Danny Meyer as a hot dog cart in 2001 in Madison Square Park in New York as a means of raising money for a public art project. Its success led to an expanded menu at a more permanent kiosk that opened to incredibly long lines of fans in 2004. Since then, the burger brand has grown into a global chain with the first Southern California location opening in West Hollywood in 2016 and its first Orange County location opening at the Irvine Spectrum in 2023. Orange County is now home multiple locations besides the two in Irvine, including stores in Huntington Beach, Brea and Costa Mesa, where an A-frame building that formerly housed an IHOP was razed to make way for the new tenant. The company is unrelated to the Crystal Cove Shake Shack, a popular O.C. diner on the Newport Coast famous for its date shakes. The elevated fast-casual eatery is known for gourmet burgers and hand-spun milkshakes made with real custard. Over the years, the Shack Shack menu has grown to include vegetarian options like the 'Veggie Shack' made with a veggie burger patty consisting of mushrooms, sweet potatoes, carrots, farro and quinoa and limited time special offerings like the 'Carolina BBQ Burger' served with fried pickles topped with pepper jack cheese, applewood smoked bacon and Carolina-style BBQ sauce. In the spirit of the philanthropic foundation Shake Shack began on, the Tustin Marketplace location has pledged to donate $1 for each sandwich sold on opening day to Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. Second Harvest is a nonprofit organization that works toward providing food and nutritional security for everyone in Orange County. The organization operates a large food bank, the Second Harvest Food Bank's Founders Farm, and distributes food through a network of partner agencies and programs. 'In this time of heightened need, partners like Shake Shack who are giving back to their communities are critical to Second Harvest and those we serve,' said Bonilla Keller. 'It's only through community supporters like Shake Shack that we're able to feed over 450,000 individuals each month, including children, working families and seniors.' Shake Shack at Tustin Marketplace is located at at 13656 Jamboree Road in Irvine. The grand opening is set for 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7. Following the opening, Shake Shack will be open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
