How DIY dad Mason Smith of 'Dad Social' is making a difference one project at a time
Known as "Dad Social" to his 12+ million combined social media followers, the father of three has quickly earned an online following for posting short videos of the fun and creative projects he does for his family and his community.
Some of his recent viral video projects include building an in-ground trampoline, a kids' camper, a "Polar Express" Christmas parade float and renovating a basketball court for his local elementary school.

"The internet is such a dark place and I don't think it needs any more negativity," Smith told Fox News Digital.
"So if my channel can just be a place where people can be entertained in a positive manner and feel a little bit better after watching it, that's definitely a goal."

The dad influencer first started sharing his "Daddy-Daughter Saturdays" before his DIY videos started gaining traction and his account grew to what it is today.
The popularity of his account has allowed him to give back to his community, including repaving a track, renovating a basketball court and fixing up a cafeteria at local schools.
While he often shares larger renovation projects, his creative "date night" videos and birthday party ideas for his family are also popular.
Videos of Smith creating a jewelry-making and ice cream station for his wife's birthday party and another of Smith making Disney character-themed pancakes for his daughters have each racked up nearly 5 million views.

"Above all else, I want my kids to have the best childhood that they can possibly have and just know their dad loves them so much," he said.
Smith said he hopes to inspire other parents to do what they can to create happy memories for their families and community. He emphasized that it's not necessary to go to the great lengths he sometimes does in order to have an effect.
"I want my channel to radiate trying to make the world a better place where you're at. You don't need to do crazy things, but you can," he told Fox News Digital. "Try to make the world a better place one small project at a time."
"Your kids are going to appreciate that you tried to make Mickey Mouse-shaped pancakes. They're going to remember that. Your movie night may not be at the top of a mountain overlooking the city, but if it's in your backyard — your kids are going to remember they had a movie outside as opposed to just inside on the couch," he said.

Some of his larger-scale projects have taken as many as four or five days to complete, even though his videos typically show less than a minute of footage. Smith said he doesn't want other parents to compare themselves to him because he understands not everyone has the time or resources to recreate the same projects.
He still hopes people will be inspired to make a positive difference in their families and community by doing what they can. Above all, he's grateful for the opportunity and appreciates every person who tunes in to watch his videos.
"I'm just very thankful for the entire opportunity that I have with my channel. I don't take it for granted, and I take it very seriously," Smith said.
"I appreciate every person that likes and follows and comments… I know life is hard, and so I'm very thankful," he continued, "From the bottom of my heart, I just want to say thank you to everybody that follows along, and I hope I make you smile every now and again."
Look out for an interview with Smith on "Fox & Friends" Monday morning.Original article source: How DIY dad Mason Smith of 'Dad Social' is making a difference one project at a time

Get a taste of Anaheim Packing District on D23 Night
Since the Anaheim Packing District opened more than 10 years ago, the innovative space has been a model for other food halls and mixed-use spaces. The former 1919 Anaheim Orange and Lemon Assn. Packing House is home to nearly 30 culinary artisans and on the evening of Wednesday, July 16, diners will get the chance to sample a few of them during its annual World Taste event. Conceived as a celebration of the culinary diversity at the Anaheim food hall, World Taste takes place on Anaheim Packing District's D23 Night. In partnership with the official Disney Fan Club, special Disney activities are planned for the evening, including DJ Clark Chuka spinning Disney tracks and tunes at the Packing House and D23 Trivia and a Sip & Sketch at Unsung Brewing, located in the MAKE building. From 5 to 9 p.m. the international tasting event will host these activities alongside tastes from participating culinary artisans within the MAKE, Anaheim Packing House and Farmers Park. One ticket, priced at $49.77, includes seven taste experiences, allowing guests to create their own eat-your-own-adventure menu. This year, the event is also introducing a 'tiny taste' ticket, priced at $28.44 for kids that offers four tastes for smaller appetites. Nearly 20 vendors will participate in World Taste, including Black Sheep Grilled Cheese Bar, serving a sweet and savory Ohana grilled cheese with mozzarella, honey ham and bacon on grilled bread with a side of house made pineapple preserves, and Iron Press, which will be offering loco moco sliders. Guests can also look forward to hand-folded spicy shrimp wantons from 18 Folds and mini samosa chaat stuffed with chickpeas, chutney and cilantro from Adya Indian Flavors. Urbana Mexican Gastronomy will have crispy birria rolls available and ZeroZero 39 Pizzeria Anaheim will serve up Roman-style pizza by the slice. Some vendors will lean into the Disney theme, like Chippy Fish & Grill offering mouse-shaped beignets and Unsung Brewing pouring a poison green apple seltzer. Zabon Ramen and Rolls has 'Finding Carpaccio' on the menu, inspired by Disney Pixar's 'Finding Nemo' and featuring thinly slice yellowtail in yuzu ponzu sauce. The Wooden Pearl, one the newest vendors to join the Anaheim Packing District, will also take part in the event, serving an oyster dish. Open since April with an elevated surf and turf menu, the Wooden Pearl expressed enthusiasm about joining the culinary circle at the packing district. 'It's an honor to join the vibrant and diverse food scene at the Anaheim Packing District. At The Wooden Pearl, we're excited to bring a fresh take on surf and turf that reflects both California's coastal spirit and our love for bold, intentional flavors,' said Dago Caceres, executive chef at the Wooden Pearl. 'We're proud to be part of what makes this community so dynamic.' Other eateries serving bites for the event include 206 BCE, Georgia's Soul Food, the Kroft, Le Parfait Paris, Mini Monster, Pique-Nique, Mangal Mediterranean and Pali Wine Co. The Anaheim Packing District 6th annual World Taste event will take place on Wednesday, July 16 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Anaheim Packing District at 440 S. Anaheim Blvd. For tickets and additional info, visit

The Walt Disney Company (DIS): 'Stability Is Working,' Says Jm Cramer
We recently published . The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) is one of the stocks Jim Cramer recently discussed. The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) is one of the largest media and entertainment companies in the world. Its shares are up by 11% year-to-date primarily on the back of 34% in gains made since early May. The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS)'s shares soared after the firm's second-quarter earnings delivered the holy grail of metrics, streaming subscribers. The numbers saw the firm report 126 million subscribers which was higher than the 123.35 million that Wall Street had penciled in. In his previous remarks about The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS), Cramer discussed how the firm is caught up in the generational divide between stock market investors. Here are his recent thoughts: 'Why doesn't Hugh Johnson get any credit [for improving performance], the CFO. Well look, the theme park's now [inaudible]. What's really interesting is they're now starting to talk about the cruise ships in 26′. I would have waited until 27′. But I do think that Disney had a great quarter, I think that Hugh Johnson plays a big role and James Gorman is going to play a big role. A packed theater of moviegoers watching a blockbuster film produced by the entertainment company. As for the generational divide, here's what Cramer said: 'We pivoted to interviewing Bob Iger, CEO of Disney, who traced out his plans now that the company owns all of Hulu. The stock was around $115 when Iger started talking, and by the end of the interview, at least partly by the day, it was at $118 and change. That's a tour de force performance, the kind of value added this network proudly provides. I felt great about it, but I could feel the contempt that many younger investors have for what I think is a very strong kind of journalism where we flesh out what really matters to an iconic big capitalization stock that has everything to do with linear television, ESPN, exciting movies, cruise ships, theme parks… Who doesn't want to know about that? Well, how about the people who just stopped going to Disney World with their parents, and it's the last place they would ever be caught dead at?' While we acknowledge the potential of DIS as an investment, our conviction lies in the belief that some AI stocks hold greater promise for delivering higher returns and have limited downside risk. ‘Ironheart': Instant Emmy predictions for the latest Marvel series
Warning: This posts contains light spoilers for Ironheart. Have no fear — Ironheart is here. The Marvel Cinematic Universe's newest metal-encased hero flies onto Disney+ today looking to build on some of the pre-Fantastic Four momentum that Thunderbolts kinda-sorta launched. Starring Dominique Thorne, the six-episode series reintroduces us to Riri Williams, a young inventor with Tony Stark-level talent and ambition. The action unfolds in Chicago, where Riri falls in with a group of outlaws led by a hooded frenemy known, appropriately enough, as the Hood (Anthony Ramos). More from Gold Derby Paul Giamatti, Stephen Graham, Cooper Koch, and the best of our Emmy Limited Series/Movie Actor interviews 'The Penguin' star Colin Farrell would be the latest Batman villain to win a major award So just how high can Ironheart fly at the 2026 Emmys? Here are some instant predictions based on our viewing of all six episodes. To date, WandaVision remains the first — and only — live-action MCU-affiliated Disney+ series to land a "best in show" level nomination for its single season. Right now, it's unclear whether Ironheart will return for another adventure of this initial six-episode run, and keeping it one-and-done could work in the show's favor come Emmy voting time. Ryan Coogler's involvement as an executive producer certainly lends it major awards pedigree, given that Black Panther is still the sole big-screen Marvel movie to receive a Best Picture nomination. And Ironheart does aim its sights at reaching a similar level of cultural relevance, fusing timely themes of class struggle and minority entrepreneurship into its superhero armor. Riri would be an underdog among Limited Series contenders — and completely out of the running in the case of a Season 2 renewal — but then again, no one expected Iron Man to change the course of comic book movie history. Marvel Once again using WandaVision as a guide, Thorne could be the first actress since Elizabeth Olsen — and the first Black actress in Marvel Studios history — to receive an Emmy acting nod. (Angela Basset already claimed the Oscar equivalent of that Marvel-ous milestone for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which introduced Riri into the MCU.) It's a performance that builds in intensity as the season progresses and Riri's ideals run into the realities that come with balancing great power and great responsibility. Read: What you need to remember about 'Ironheart' before the Marvel series premiere Don't judge a character by his name. Alden Ehrenreich may introduce himself as "Joe McGillicuddy" when his tech wizard meets Riri. But in the third episode, you learn his real identity — and it ties into vintage MCU lore. Turns out that Joe McGillicuddy is none other than Ezekiel Stane, son of Iron Man's first foil, Obadiah Stane, played by Jeff Bridges in 2008's Iron Man. Once he embraces his true self, Ehrenreich starts showing some of the same delight that defined Kathryn Hahn's WandaVision transformation from Agnes to Agatha. Not for nothing, she scored a nod in the Supporting Actress category for that reveal. Key to Riri's evolution is her relationship with her childhood best friend, Natalie, played by This Is Us star Lyric Ross. Though she's been gone from her life for years, Natalie remains a constant presence — even more so when she returns as a projection of the Ironheart suit. Ross' lively, funny performance provides the right counterweight to Thorne's stoic star turn. This is us predicting Emmy recognition. Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes share Ironheart directing duties with the former helming the first three episodes and the latter taking the series home in the back half. Both ably handle the technical demands of the effects-heavy production, particularly Barnes whose run of episodes takes the series into more fantastical effects territory. Whatever their mainline Emmy fates, Marvel shows always perform well on the Creative Arts Emmy side of things and Ironheart has multiple shots at multiple VFX, costume, and make-up categories. But a special shout-out should go to the main title design team, who find unique ways for the Ironheart name to show up in each episode.
