FC Barcelona: Robert Lewandowski opens the door to a departure!

Robert Lewandowski Will Robert Lewandowski leave FC Barcelona this summer? The Polish striker addressed the question. Robert Lewandowski spoke to FC Barcelona's media after the Blaugrana's first training session in Japan. The Polish international took the opportunity to discuss his future, even though he's tied to the Catalan club until June 2026. "I don't know if this will be my last year under contract," explained the 36-year-old. "I'm calm. What happens at the end of the season isn't important right now; what matters is what happens this season, what I can achieve. I'm relaxed—the important thing is what I have in my heart and in my head. But the priority is to see what happens this season." Lewandowski stated.

Liverpool signed one of the most skilful players on the planet

Liverpool now have one of the most skilful players on the planet. It's been apparent over the last year that Arne Slot is keen on adding more skill to his attack. The Reds were brilliant last season, but they lacked a player who can take players on one vs one and create space for others. Shop the LFC Store LFC Kits Shop Now LFC x New Era Shop Now LFC Signed Merch Shop Now LFC x Titleist Shop Now Someone who can also be unpredictable. This is why they had considered making a move for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the January transfer window. Ultimately, Paris Saint Germain were the ones who were able to sway the exquisite Georgian attacker, and they reaped the rewards, becoming Champions League winners and beating Liverpool along the way. For the Reds though, missing out on Kvaratskhelia may have been a silver lining. Because little did they realise, but they already had a player of his ilk, and had already signed him last summer. Richard Hughes got a lot of criticism last year when he ultimately didn't really go big on any transfer. Obviously, those critics are very silent now as Liverpool have embarked on a spending spree. But Hughes did make one transfer that could go onto retrospectively be known as one of his best deals ever. We are talking about the acquisition of Rio Ngumoha from Chelsea. Last year the 16-year-old's arrival caused shockwaves but little did we know just how good of a player Ngumoha was actually really is. There was a lot of hype, and a lot to live up to and over the course of the last year, he's done that. At academy level, Ngumoha has been averaging around 13 dribblers per 90 minutes, and completing over 50% of his attempts. Those are on par with the most skilful players on the planet. In pre-season, he's showing he can translate that to senior level as well. Against AC Milan he was one of the best players on the pitch, creating the most chances (two) and winning the most duels (4) in the first-half. Most importantly, he completed the most dribblers (3) on the same pitch that included Rafael Leao, which is impressive to say the least. Overall as we have no access to data from the Stoke City game, in which Ngumoha scored, he's played around 90 minutes for Liverpool in pre-season so far. In those 90 minutes, Ngumoha has attempted nine dribbles and completed six of them. It's a small sample size but these are the numbers he has produced at academy and youth international level, too. Ngumoha is simply one of the most skilful players on the planet already. He thrives in tight spaces and he has AC Milan's senior players not really knowing how to deal with him. There's no denying he will play more minutes for the first team next season. There's also no denying, Hughes pulled off a major coup when he signed him last summer. With Ngumoha in the side, Slot will finally have that unpredictable element. Add Florian Wirtz to the mix and Liverpool will undoubtedly be even better next season.

Fabrizio Romano: Liverpool 'prepared to go big' after Díaz sale

Liverpool Eye Record-Breaking Move for Alexander Isak Isak Sets His Sights on Anfield Liverpool are ready to launch a blockbuster move for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. With Luis Díaz's €75 million switch to Bayern Munich nearing completion, Romano reveals that the Reds are 'prepared to go big for Alexander Isak' as they look to bolster Arne Slot's attacking options. Isak, for his part, is reportedly eager to join Liverpool and has made it his 'priority' this summer. Crucially, Romano adds: 'Isak, keen on the move and not even in talks with Saudi clubs. Only Liverpool.' That clear stance speaks volumes, especially given the current transfer market's Saudi riches. It's also telling that Isak has refused to join Newcastle's pre-season tour, a clear sign of his intent to push for a transfer. Newcastle Reluctant but Pressured Despite Isak's desire to leave, Newcastle remain reluctant to sell. Their resistance has been further hardened by transfer frustrations of their own — notably Brentford's refusal to sell Yoane Wissa, a player they'd hoped could be part of their succession plan. Nonetheless, pressure is mounting. The Magpies may be holding out for as much as £150 million, a figure Liverpool are unlikely to meet. Given Isak's stance and the disruption his exit could cause, Liverpool may view that price as unrealistic. Strategic Shift Post-Díaz Liverpool's intent seems to hinge on Díaz's departure. Once that move is finalised — with the Colombian winger set to fly to Germany on Monday — Liverpool will shift focus entirely to Isak. While some reports had suggested Hugo Ekitike, signed from Eintracht Frankfurt, was the club's alternative to Isak, it appears the plan is now to have both players involved. Time to Back Arne Slot With Isak ruling out any approach from Saudi Arabia and Liverpool fully focused on landing the Swede, the ball is in FSG's court. Whether Liverpool go all-in with a club-record bid remains to be seen. But one thing is clear — Alexander Isak wants Liverpool, and Liverpool now want him. Our View – Anfield Index Analysis From a Liverpool supporter's perspective, this could be the type of statement signing that energises the fanbase even more in this extraordinary summer. Alexander Isak offers everything the modern forward needs — pace, intelligence, pressing ability, and a clinical edge in front of goal. His interest in joining Liverpool, while actively ignoring the Saudi cash, is a massive positive for those who still value footballing ambition over finances. Supporters may be wary of the suggested £150m fee — especially after recent spending — but context matters. With Luis Díaz likely departing, and Núñez's inconsistent form raising long-term doubts, fans will see Isak as the ideal replacement. He's Premier League-proven, still only 25, and seemingly wants the move. The arrival of Hugo Ekitike has helped calm concerns about squad depth, but the idea of both Ekitike and Isak leading the line gives real optimism. If Isak is the priority signing as Romano reports, then fans would expect the club to act decisively and not haggle over Newcastle's inflated demands for too long. This is the type of deal that would signal a bold new chapter at Anfield — one where Liverpool back their manager with serious firepower. From the stands at Anfield to the wider fanbase, this move would resonate as a clear commitment to challenging again.
