Frankie Bridge's ‘sensational' pinstripe co-ord nails summer officewear
Few people know how to nail the art of being both on trend and timeless at the same time quite like Frankie Bridge does. The presenter is known for her eternally chic outfits, which strike just the right balance of hitting a trend whilst still being wearable for years to come, and her latest co-ord is no exception.
Frankie shared a snap of herself wearing Mango's Striped Straight Suit Trousers (£45.99) and the matching Buttons Striped Top (£35.99) on Instagram, and fans immediately went wild for it. 'So many sensational outfits, my style icon' wrote one, whilst another said: 'Absolutely love this outfit!'
Currently the trousers are still available in all sizes from a six to a 14, however the stripe top is now out of stock on the Mango website. Don't despair, though, because our fashion sleuthing skills have tracked it down at Very, where it's still available in sizes small, medium and large.
The pinstripe co-ord is the perfect choice for summer, and you can wear it absolutely anywhere from a summer wedding to the office to brunch. A simple accessory swap will take it from day to night, and its fitted, tailored silhouette gives it an instantly sophisticated, smart look.
Its linen blend material also keeps it breathable and comfortable in the summer heat, but as it's not pure linen you won't need to worry as much about creasing and crumpling. We're also a big fan of the lime green shade, which has a punchier, bolder impact than the butter yellow trend, and is more universally flattering on all skin tones.
The Striped Straight Suit Trousers have a relaxed, wide leg fit with tailored darts around the waist, whilst the waistcoat-style Buttons Striped Top has an adjustable tie at the back to cinch in the waist for a flattering fit. The top also flares out over the hips, helping accentuate your figure and creating an hourglass silhouette.
We also spotted some other great alternatives on the high street, with Roman's Lime Dusk Waist Coat (£32) and Elasticated Waist Wide Leg Trouser (£35) offering a similar silhouette with a slightly more relaxed, causal fit. For a slightly more elegant look, ASOS' Premium Ponte Halter Neck Top (£26) and the matching Premium Ponte Barrel Leg Trouser (£30) have a tailored design that's perfect for evenings out.
However if you want to copy Frankie's 'sensational' co-ord, you can bag the Striped Straight Suit Trousers directly from Mango, and the Buttons Striped Top at Very now.

'Denise Welch made me buy this £49 M&S jacket that's perfect for summer layering'
The Loose Women panellist is best known for her acting and presenting roles, but one of her recent outfits cemented her name on the list of daytime TV fashion icons If you'd asked me last month to name my daytime fashion inspirations, I'd likely have reeled off the usual suspects - Frankie Bridge, Cat Deeley or Rochelle Humes. Denise Welch probably wouldn't have been the first name that comes to mind, but appearing on a June episode of Loose Women, the actress was seen sporting a piece that I instantly had to track down. The 67-year-old donned the Pure Cotton Striped Tie Front Shacket from M&S's Per Una collection, which happens to be under £50. When I checked online for stock, it had completely sold out, but luckily I managed to get my hands on it in store. Lucky for shoppers, it's since been restocked and is available in most sizes. Now, I really dislike the word shacket. It gives me the same visceral reaction others get to words like 'moist'. However, while the word once triggered fashion fatigue, it really is the best way to describe this blouse-come-layering-piece. Priced at £49.50, the lightweight jacket is made from 100% cotton in an oversized, boxy fit. It's lightweight enough to be worn alone as a blouse, but heavy enough to wear as a jacket without it being flimsy. It boasts long sleeves and a collared V-neckline, complete with three tie front closures for an on-trend look. This design detail is one that won't be going out of style anytime soon, either, which means shoppers can wear it year-round. However, not everyone has been a fan of the trend. On the M&S jacket, one shopper commented: 'Who needs such fussy ties to close this top? This season seems full of them.' That said, others have left five star reviews, complimenting the shacket's 'good quality' and 'comfortable' feel. One wrote: 'The item was made of good quality fabric with an unusual closure but it was large. I usually take 18/20 and even the 16 was loose.' Another said: 'Great quality and design, comfortable to wear was a little unsure as shacket as have purchased one before and not altogether sold on these as really was not one thing or another but I would say this is a heavy denim shirt and a good spring top very intend with the tie front.' If the M&S tie-front shacket has whet your appetite for a new denim staple, but isn't quite for you, Boden's Denim Frill Collar Jacket costs £119 and is channeling Parisian vibes. The feminine ruffles are a dreamy touch that set it apart from other denim pieces on the high street. Alternatively, this ASOS DESIGN denim rugby top is on sale from £36 to £23.50. It has that same revere collar silhouette, but is ideal for wearing solo, accessorised with a satin neck tie. As for the M&S jacket, I paired it with the matching pinstripe jeans, however, I was a little bit let down by them. The quality and cut were spot on, but they appear to be a touch lighter than the top, and while most people wouldn't notice, it does bug me a little bit. It doesn't matter when wearing them as separates, but when opting for the full co-ord look, it would have been better if they were exactly the same shade. Another slight downside about the top is that the ties do occasionally need tightening throughout the day, but that's a minor inconvenience and wouldn't stop me from wearing it - especially considering how many compliments it's earned me. So while Denise Welch being a style icon may not have been on my 2025 bingo card, I must give credit where it's due because I haven't been able to stop wearing this jacket since I bought it. It's currently available in sizes 8-22 online, though some additional sizes could be found in store. It is roomy, so if you enjoy an oversized fit, I'd go for your usual size, but for a snugger silhouette, many will be able to afford sizing down.

This is the one item that will get you through August
School's out for summer — but for those who aren't beach bound, the matter of summer attire that extends beyond a bikini continues to require our engagement. It's bad enough you've got to work for the entirety of August, so what to wear? We pride ourselves on focusing on solutions not problems here on the Style fashion desk, which is why we're drawing your attention to the billowy white skirt: your one-suits-all clothing companion. The item you need to see you through stuffy commutes, overly air-conned meetings, summery soirées and everything in between, this is the foundation on which your August can be built. Despite the sales stock filling stores right now, the white skirt remains a hot purchase. M&S has a lovely cotton one. See also Arket for its Nineties-inspired model, and Mango has a version with just the right amount of swish. The white skirt is a big hit at the luxury end of the market too. We love Toteme's take, with a front split and a balloony silhouette. • Read more fashion advice and style inspiration from our experts Feeding directly into this summer's big monochrome moment (do keep up: wearing black and white is an obsession for fashion purists right now), this skirt looks best teamed with classics. A simple singlet vest will do just fine. Those who like a bit more structure should try it with a waistcoat. On the matter of footwear, flat sandals are your friends here. Add a jacket if it's chilly; a slouchy blazer is a good plan. We also love an oversized shirt with a relaxed shape. It's summertime and the living is easy — this is the look to match the mood. Perth bass guitarists share musical experiences down the decades
Guitarists George and Frankie spoke about their love of the Fender Bass. Two Perth bass guitar players in city bands decades apart shared stories of gigs, late-night rehearsals and treasured instruments. George Clark - formerly of 1960s Perth band The Erle Blue Stars and resident of the city's Ochil Care Home - met Frankie Sweeney of award-winning Indie rock outfit The Crom who emerged five years ago. The meeting, arranged by Ochil's activities staff, gave them the opportunity to chat about their shared interests and passion for the bass guitar. They each revealed a deep admiration for the unmistakable tone of a Fender bass guitar. Ochil Care Home general manager Liz Stewart said: 'Despite the decades between their debut performances, both musicians discovered a mirror in the other — kindred spirits shaped by rhythm, resilience, and the soulful rumble of baselines. 'For George, who once played packed halls across Perthshire, this moment rekindled memories of his time on stage, while Frankie found insight and inspiration from a local legend whose legacy still echoes in community lore. 'Seeing the spark in George's eyes as he connected with someone who understood his experience — not just musically but personally — was heartwarming. 'It's moments like these that remind us how powerful shared experiences can be. 'The visit left everyone buzzing with joy and proved that music isn't just timeless — it's connective, healing, and deeply human. 'It was a celebration of identity, artistry, and the kind of community that allows stories to be passed on, chord by chord.' The Crom are influenced by guitar-based rock bands including The Beatles, The Stone Roses, and The Jam. They took the Best Band title after reaching the final 10 in the category in the eighth annual Radio WigWam Awards 2025. It followed winning the Best Indie Rock Act at the awards in January 2023. In 2022 The Crom won the Battle of the Bands competition at Perth venue The Twa Tams. And their debut album, 'Right On Cue', was nominated for the 2022 Scottish Album of the Year (SAY) Award. The Erle Blue Stars, led by the late Erle Jacobson, had a loyal following in the Perth area in the 1960s and regularly played City Hall.
